Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of yellow root plant extract (Arcangelisia flavaMerr) in treating edwardsiellosis disease in catfish (Clarias batrachus). The method used in thisresearch is experimental method complete Randomized Design (RAL) with three treatments and threereplications. The treatments were extract of Yellow Root plants (Arcangelisia flava Merr.) With dose of50 ppm (treatment A), dose 100 ppm (treatment B) and dose 150 ppm (treatment C). The parametersobserved were the change of clinical symptoms, the percentage of test fish recovery rate, and thesurvival of the test fish as well as the water quality. The results showed that the use of yellow root plantextract through immersion in treatment C (dose 150 ppm) is the best treatment with the percentage offish recovery rate of 85.00% and survival rate of test fish is 93.33%. Thus the Yellow Root plant extract(Arcangelisia flava Merr) effective in the treatment of edwardsiellosis disease in catfish (Clariasbatrachus) with recommended dosage is 150 ppm.Keywords: Arcangelisia flava Merr, edwardsiellosis, catfish

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe existence of cooperatives is proven to increase the success of smallholders' palm plantationsthrough the application of good agricultural practices (GAP) and good management practices (GAP).The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that determine the success of cooperatives and therole of cooperatives in improving the welfare of its members and communities around. The researchwas conducted in three palm oil plantation cooperatives in Indonesia: (1) KUD Dwi Tunggal in TaniaMakmur Village, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatera; (2) KUD Tani Subur in Pangkalan TigaVillage, West Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan; (3) KUD Jaya Makmur in Kumbara UtamaVillage, Siak Regency. The selection of the sample cooperative is deliberately determined on the basisthat the cooperatives are a nationally achieving cooperative based on a credible source of information.This study found that the factors that determine the success of these cooperatives are: (1) Backgroundhistory of establishment of cooperatives; (2) Trust members to cooperative management; (3)Cooperative partnership between cooperatives with plantation companies and companies providingagricultural production facilities; (4) Implementation of GAP and GMP. The research also found that theexistence of the palm oil plantation cooperatives proved able to improve the welfare of its membersthrough the increase of their household income from the plantation activity, which ranged from Rp 29.5million/ year to Rp 33.6 million / year. The existence of cooperatives also have a positive impact on thesocio-economic life of the community through: (1) improvement of infrastructure supporting economicand socio-cultural activities; (2) improvement of housing condition of the population; (3) all householdsof oil palm plantations have two-wheeled vehicles and some of them have four-wheeled vehicles(cars); (4) about 10% of farmers' children are able to finish their education until university; (5) for themany Moslem farmers have performed the pilgrimage or umroh, or already recorded in the waiting listto perform the pilgrimage.Key words: palm oil plantations; national achievement cooperatives; socio-economic impactABSTRAKKeberadaan koperasi terbukti mampu meningkatkan keberhasilan perkebunan kelapa sawit rakyatmelalui penerapan praktik pertanian yang baik dan praktik manajemen yang baik. Penelitian inibertujuan untuk mengkaji faktor-faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan koperasi dan peran koperasidalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan anggotanya serta masyarakat di sekitranya. Penelitian dilakukandi tiga koperasi perkebunan kelapa sawit rakyat berprestasi di Indonesia, yaitu: (1) KUD Dwi Tunggaldi Desa Tania Makmur Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir Provinsi Sumatera Selatan; (2) KUD Tani Suburdi Desa Pangkalan Tiga Kabupaten Kotawaringin Barat Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah; (3) KUD JayaMakmur di Desa Kumbara Utama Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau. Pemilihan koperasi sampelditetapkan secara sengaja dengan pertimbangan bahwa koperasi-koperasi tersebut merupakankoperasi berprestasi tingkat nasioanl berdasarkan sumber informasi yang kredibel. Penelitian ini Suharno dkk. Menggali Koperasi Perkebunan Kelapa SawitRakyat Berprestasi di Indonesia10menemukan bahwa faktor-faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan koperasi-koperasi tersebut antaralain: (1) Latar belakang sejarah berdirinya koperasi; (2) Kepercayaan anggota kepada penguruskoperasi; (3) Kerjasama kemitraan antara koperasi dengan perusahaan perkebunan dan perusahaanpenyedia sarana produksi pertanian; (4) Praktik pertanian yang baik dan praktik manajemen yang baik.Penelitian juga menemukan bahwa keberadaan koperasi perkebunan kelapa sawit rakyat terbuktimampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan anggotanya melalui peningkatan pendapatanya, yaitu berkisarantara Rp 29,5 juta/tahun sampai dengan Rp 33,6 juta/tahun. Keberadaan koperasi juga memberikandampak positif bagi kehidupan sosial ekonomi masyarakat melalui: (1) peningkatan infrastrukturpenunjang kegiatan ekonomi maupun sosial budaya; (2) peningkatan kondisi perumahan penduduk;(3) semua rumah tangga petani perkebunan kelapa sawit memiliki kendaraan bermotor roda dua dansebagian kecil memiliki kendaraan bermotor roda empat (mobil); (4) sekitar 10% anak-anak petaniperkebunan mampu menamatkan pendidikannya sampai perguruan tinggi; (5) bagi petani yangberagama islam sudah banyak yang menunaikan ibadah haji atau umroh, atau sudah tercatat dalamdaftar tunggu untuk menunaikan ibadah haji.Kata-kata kunci: perkebunan kelapa sawit rakyat; koperasi berprestasi nasional; dampak sosialekonomi

Abstract

ABSTRACTMeat is an animal product that contains fat, especially saturated fat. The saturated fat contentof the meat affects the shelf life and freshness of the meat during storage. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to: i) analyze the influence of factors of production to the level of farm production RedChillies, ii) determine the feasibility of farming Red Chillies during one production process, researchwas conducted in the village of Bukit Batu subdistrict Sei Gohong city of Palangkaraya. Total sample offarmers as many as 30 farmers was taken by simple random sampling (Sample Random Sampling)from the total population of Red Pepper farmers as many as 60 farmers. The analytical tool to answerthe first objective equation is used Cobb Douglas: Y = boX1b1X2b2X3b3X4b4X5b5 where Y = production(kg), X1 = land area (Ha), X2 = Seed (kg), X3 = fertilizer (kg), X4 = pesticides (liter), X5 =labor (HOK), bo= coefficient parameter. While the analytical tool used to answer the second goal used analysisRevenue Cost Ratio (RCR), which is the ratio between the total revenue with the total cost ofproduction. If RCR> 1 then farming is feasible to cultivate. The results showed that the factors ofproduction land, seed, fertilizer, pesticides and labor simultan eously affect significantly against RedChillies production in Sub Sei Gohong Bukit Batu subdistrict city of Palangka Raya. Value Fcount(97,513)> Ftable (2,409). Partially influence of each factor of production to production Red Chillies witha confidence level of 95%, the area of land with an elasticity of 0.329 (significant), seeds 0.150(significant), fertilizer 0.314 (significant), pesticides 0.140 (significant), and labor -0.020 (notsignificant). The value of Revenue Cost Ratio of Red Chili farming is 3.2. It means that everyproduction cost expense of Rp 1,000 will generate revenue of Rp 3,200, -. RCR> 1 means that RedChilli farming in Kelurahan Sei Gohong District of Bukit Batu Kota Palangka Raya is feasible orprofitable.Key word: Feasibility, Production Factor, Red Chilli Farming

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to identify first, the difference of Jelutung?s growth rate in two different peatthickness. Second, This research aims to identify the difference between tap and untapped Jelutung?sgrowth rate. Observation material consist of tapped 18 Jelutung trees in the thickness of 4,00 m and6,00 m, 9 untapped Jelutung trees in 4,00 m thickness. The measurement of diameter accretion isconducted consistently during 12 months. In every thickness point in the peatland, soil is taken as asample to analyse the soil features. This research uses Factorial Randomized Group Design, wherethe first research target is conducted with two different peatland thickness and three diameter class oftrees, while for the second research target is conducted to both tapped and untapped trees and threedifferent diameter class. Each treatment is conducted three times.Tha varian analysis result shows that peatland thickness has significantly influence on jelutunggrowth rate, while tree diameter has insignificant influence. Tapped jelutung that is planted on 4mthickness has 37-57% higher in terms of growth rate compare to that is planted on 6m thickness. Weconjecture that due to the peatland condition, the regression and correlation analysis on 4 peatlandfeatures shows significant different with strong correlation where the moisture level, pH (KCL), Ca totaland Fe total.The varian analysis shows that tapping has a significant influence on jelutung growth rate.Tapped jelutung has 36-49% lower compare to untapped jelutung. Jelutung growth rate based onpeatland thickness and tapping is higher compare to the growth rate of other trees such as meranti,ramin and rimba (based on peatland thickness) in the same location.Keywords: Peat depth, growth rate, tap

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe changed in 1995 ? 1998 when a programme of massive Peat Swamp Forest (PSF) conversion, the socalled Mega Rice Project (MRP) in Central Kalimantan was initiated to develop rice field has been impact bothdeforestation and forest degradation. The aim of this research is to classify forest degradation rates of PSFaccurately using multi-stage remote sensing methods through (1) Forest Canopy Density model (FCD) LANDSAT 5TM image acquired 2010 and supported by aerial photos interpretation, (2) inventoryineach forest cluster weredetermined by purposive sampling using 5 plotswith size of 20m x 20m.The results showed that there wasasignificant correlation(r)=0.82 between FCD and Canopy Area Index (CAI). Significant correlation was also shownbetween CAI and stand density, dominance andfrequency respectively with the value of r = 0.974; r = 0.937 and r =0.871. Based on these correlation, predicted that PSF on the researcharea has been changed become deforestation53.68%, very high degradation 3.37%, moderate high degradation 11.21%, middle degradation 15.30%, moderatelow degradation 15,45% and low degradation 0.99%.The conclusion thatthe PSF ecosystem of MRP largely hasbeen transformed intodegradation and deforetation areas.Keywords: Peat swamp forest, remote sensing, ecology, degradation and deforestation.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have three important sustainable pillars for a development: economy,social and environment. The topic for social sustainable is considered essential for the community in KerengBangkirai, Central Kalimantan as the basic problems for this community lays on the community dependency towardnatural resources. The community roles supported the social sustainability affect the systems which facilitate thenatural resources management, so that natural conservation can be accelerate. Based on the explanation, thisresearch aims to describe the types of community participation to support social sustainabilityin Kereng BangkiraiDistrict, Central Kalimantan. This research was concluded in Kereng Bangkirai District by applying in-depth interviewmethod for six key-informen and 16 informen, and the results were analysed qualitatively. The results show that thereare some institutions and individual along with the social local wisdom involve in management activity and in takingbeneficiaries of natural resources in Kereng Bangkirai.Keywords: Participation, sustainability, social

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research proves the variation of Ketapang Wood Physical Characteristics on fresh water content, air drywater content, specific gravity, shrinkage and development due to differences in the location of wood along the stem.The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications. The research standard used DIN as asample taken as many as 3 pieces each part of the stem so that the number of test samples on one tree as many as99 test samples for each treatment. The treatments examined by axial direction of the stem in the section of Base(P), Middle (T), Edge (U) and further tests using the smallest real difference test (BNT). Results of the study Thephysical properties of ketapang wood in general have an average fresh water content (73.04%), air dry water content(47.76%). Maximum density (0.47), Development of dry to maximum kiln conditions (5.94%), development ofmaximum dry air to dry conditions (2.45%). Ratio (T / R) at maximum conditions to air dryness (1.45%) including lowclassification. Ratio (T / R) of maximum conditions to kiln dry (1.56%).Keywords: Fresh water content, air dry water content, specific gravity, shrinkage, development.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTeak clone number 97 and 110 have been developed by Perum Perhutani and Fakultas KehutananUniversitas Gadjah Mada year 2004 / 2005. The aim of this research is to know survival rate, stand density, growth;and relation between level of stand density within growth of teak clone number 97 and 110 at the age of 10 years inBKPH Begal KPH Ngawi, Perum Perhutani East Java. Research is committed through making 32 checks measurepermanent of the size 60 m x 50 m. The result of research indicated that after age 10 years, teak clone number 97and 110 have survival rate 69,77 % or with stand density 581 trees/ha. There are 252 trees/ha experience death inrange. Growth data indicate that there is relationship of negativity between growth of diameter with stand density,that is with value of correlation (r) = ? 0.6598. The relationship is explainable through y's regression equation=?0.008x+25.46, with value R² = 0.435.Keywords: teak clone, survival rate, diameter growth, stand density

Abstract

ABSTRACTEssential oils are volatile compounds that are not soluble in water and are derived from aromatic plants. Sometypes of wood have the potential to contain essential oils, one of which is Sintok wood (Cinnamomum sintocBLUME), which is included in the genus Cinnamomum from family Lauraceae. This study aims to determine theproperties of essential oils of sintok bark and anti-fungal activity. The method of extracting essential oil by boilingSintok bark obtained around the village of Hampangen, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. Theessential oil distilled is sintok bark which is fresh and the skin is dry air condition. Sintok wood essential oil wastested for the antifungal activity of Schizophyllum commune and Pleurotus osteratus. The yield of essential oils onfresh skin is 0.17% and dry air skin is 0.18%. Sintok wood essential oil with a concentration of 50 ppm can inhibit thegrowth of S.commune mushrooms and P. osteratus.Keywords: Synthetic wood, distillation, essential oil, Schizophyllum commune and Pleurotus osteratus
