Abstract

This study aims to determine the activity of plant-based pesticide formulations on martyred Parmarion semi-naked snails. The study conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Flores, Sam Ratulangi Street, Ende Regency. The research was conducted from February to August 2019 using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two stages of treatment. The first stage was testing the contact poison activity in 5 treatments namely P0 = Control, P1 = Dilution 1: 5, P2 = Dilution 1:10, P3 = Dilution 1:15, P4 = Pure extract. The second step is to test the stomach poison with five treatments namely R0 = Control, R1 = No immersion, R2 = Soak 10 minutes, R3 = Soak 20 minutes, R4 = Soak 30 minutes. All treatments are repeated five times so that they will get 25 units of experiments in every treatment. The results showed the concentration of vegetable pesticide extracts in contact poisons and stomach poisons the highest average mortality for contact poisons were found in P4 therapy with the highest mortality value of 68.00% and experienced the fastest death above 50.00% at 50.80 hours with single speed time is 0.55 hours. While the stomach poison in the R4 treatment is 66.66% with the time, the fastest mortality is above 50.00%, which is 55.40 hours with a speed of 0.57 hours per individual.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the spread of Tungro disease in the Poco Ranaka Timur District, East Manggarai Regency, and how the development of Tungro disease in each location attacked. Data were analyzed descriptively and based on direct observations obtained in the field. Observation parameters in the form of the presence and development of Tungro disease from each sample location. In the two rice growing seasons by counting the number of clumps attacked in each sample location. The results of the study at nine sample locations showed an increase in the spread of Tungro disease from the first planting season to the second planting season by an average of 27.29%. The highest growth in the range of Tungro disease occurring at the fifth sample location by 90.87%. The lowest at the sample location ninth by 9.09%.

Abstract

Characteristics of soil physical properties are the diversity of soil conditions based on structure, texture, soil color, and soil moisture content. Features of the physical properties of the soil influenced by several factors, including poor land management, which results in a decrease in fertility levels that includes physical, chemical, and biological soil characteristics.The method used in this study is the sample cluster method. Consists of a small group of units and then randomly selected as a representative of the population, all elements in the chosen cluster used as research samples. This study aims to determine the physical characteristics of soil texture, soil structure, soil color, and soil moisture content in cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) in Wologai Tengah Village.The results showed that the texture of the soil in cassava soil dominated by clay texture. The structure of the angular lumpy ground, soil color 10 YR 2/1 Black, and 10 YR 2/2 Very Dark Brown and had a soil moisture content of 37.4%. This soil type is an ideal soil type or classified as fertile to cultivate cassava plants.

Abstract

High phosphorus (P) content and continuous fertilization cause P saturation, nutrient imbalance in the soil, low efficiency, and the possibility of other nutrients such as Zn becomes unavailable. Therefore it is necessary to research to determine the content of phosphorus in rice fields and rice in Woloau Village, Maurole District, Ende Regency. This study uses a survey method, where the determination of soil samples done by a purposive method. With this method, three hamlets were obtained, which cultivated Ciherang and Inari rice varieties. The main variables observed were available P and total soil P, P in rice. The supporting variables are C-Organic and soil pH. C-Organic is a percentage of fertility in the soil consisting of various C (carbon) bonds. The soil pH is the acidity or basicity of an object measured on a pH scale between 0 to 14. The results of research this show that the mainstay of P is available in paddy soils, namely 96.49 ppm, 101.9 ppm, 97.99 ppm, 98.32 ppm, 95.01, and TC3 99.11 ppm with very high criteria. The total P content in paddy soil is 177.54 ppm, 208.39 ppm, 192.61 ppm, 163.21 ppm, 161.99 ppm, 175.92 ppm with very high criteria. The P content in rice is 1201.88 ppm, 1197.34 ppm, 1230.11 ppm, 1231.23 ppm, 1240.51 ppm, 1248.09 ppm.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of the immersion time of vanilla stem cuttings in the most root growth regulating agent and to know the length of soaking time of the vanilla stem cuttings in the most optimum root growth regulator. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments soaking in minutes. Repeated four times, namely P1 (10 minutes), P2 (20 minutes), P3 (30 minutes), P4 (40 minutes), P5 (50 minutes), P6 (60 minutes). Variables observed including the number of days of first shoot growth, the number of roots, root length, shoot diameter, shoot length, wet weight of cuttings, and dry weight of cuttings.The results showed that the treatment of P6 gave a very significant effect. On the variable growth in the number of roots (55.59%), root length (58.86%), number of days of first shoot growth (28 HST), shoot diameter (70.15%) , shoot length (71.43%), wet weight of cuttings (37.14%) and dry weight of cuttings (65.04%) at each age of observation.

Abstract

Corn is an important commodity after rice. The need for corn continues to increase every year. It is necessary to increase production, one of them through the use of varieties and optimal population regulation (spacing). This study aims to determine the growth and yield of Pulut (Zea Mays Ceratina Kulesh) F1 Kumala varieties a various spacing in rows. This research was arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RCBD) with the treatments used: J1 = 40 cm x 40 cm, J2 = 50 cm x 40 cm, J3 = 60 cm x 40 cm, J4 = 70 cm x 40 cm, and J5 = 80 cm x 40 cm. The variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, the weight of cob without kilobit per plant, the weight of cob without kilobit per ha, ear diameter, ear length, ear weight 100 seeds, and weight of seeds of the crop. The results showed that 70 cm x 40 cm spacing gave a very significant effect. On leaf area (21.85%), the weight of cob without cornhusk per plant (16.76%), ear diameter (4.80%), length cob (10.79%), the weight of 100 seeds (9.18%) and weight of crop seeds (14.97%).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of extracts of tobacco plants, cloves, lemongrass, neem seeds, and chillis on the development of gray pests caterpillars Spodoptera litura F. and determine sure plant extracts against armyworms. The design used was a randomized group design (RCBD) with the treatment of 5 types of vegetable pesticides, namely E1 (tobacco extract) E2 (clove extract) E3 (citronella extract) E4 (neem extract) E5 (red chili extract). The observational variables in this study were insects intensity, pest mortality, plant fresh weight, and original weight per hectare. The results showed that five types of vegetable pesticide extract affected the armyworm Spodoptera litura F. Tobacco leaf extract was an appropriate and effective plant against the mortality of armyworm by 32%. The lowest insect intensity in the treatment of tobacco extract by 25%, fresh weight of planting mustard was equal to 112, 85 gr, and the original weight of plants per hectare amounted to 28.21 tons.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Physical Properties of Soil in Ndetu Ndora I Village, Ende District, Ende Regency. Research is exploratory research, by evaluating physical properties, evaluation results are described and compared with existing physical and chemical soil standards. The results showed that the texture of the soil consisted of clay and dusty clay. In structure, the type that exists is the structure of angular lumps, rounded lumps, granular, and crumbs. In soil, color is dominant by very dark brown, dark brown, very dark gray, very dark grayish brown. Soil consistency, it appears that these soils have a sticky, plastic, loose, softly consistence. The pH in the soil ranges from 4.8 to 6.4. And the slope is in the range of 13% - 23%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the timing of proper peanut planting in intercropping cropping patterns with various pulut varieties of corn on the growth and yield of peanuts on dry land. The experimental design using the Split Plot Design consisted of two faktors repeated three times. Treatment of corn variety as the main plot cansisted of thee levels (V1: Local variety, V2: Uri variety, V3: Binthe Pulu variety) while planting time was placed as subplots including (T1: groundnut planted 15 days after planting Corn; T2: groundnut is Corn together with peanut planting, T3: groundnut is planted 15 days before planting Corn) Three replications were performed. Data was collected destructively. The F-test at 5% was used to examine the effect of treatments, while differences across treatments were based on the LSD at 5%. The results of the study showed that there was an interaction between the planting time and variety of varieties to the yield parameters of 100 seeds, whereas separately the treatment of plant time is 15 days before the pulut maize plant and planter simultaneously show the highest yield for the growth variable and yield variable of 2.02; and 2.05 tons ha-┬╣.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the risk of field rice farming in the dry season and rainy season and the influence of the use of production inputs on the risk of field rice production. The research was conducted in Nggela village with consideration. a) is a dryland village with the main food commodities of paddy rice Field rice farmers in Nggela village as many as 53 farmers, all farmers were studied to get the data and information needed. Analysis of the data used is the coefficient of variation. This analysis is a measure of relative risk obtained by dividing the standard deviation with the expected value. . The magnitude of the influence of input use on production risk was analyzed using multiple linear regression, the production function used was the Cobb Douglass production function beginning with the classical assumption test. The results of the analysis show that the risk of producing paddy rice farming in the rainy season is lower than in the dry season. The results of the t-test analysis show that not all independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable. Variables that are not influential are labor variables. Data in the field shows that the workmanship in Nggela village is still familiar with the pattern of cooperation, so that a lot or a little workforce is used that does not affect the risk of production. In the variables of land, seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, there is a significant and negative sign, this means that any additional land area, seeds, fertilizers and pesticides will reduce the risk of field rice production.
