Abstract

This research was carried out aimed at informing that the importance of reading to improve the intelligence of the nation and increase insight or knowledge. The teacher is the main factor that supports in increasing interest in reading students. The method in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Obtaining data obtained from observations This study was conducted because students' interest in reading was too low. From the results of research that has been investigated the cause of low student interest is because students assume reading books is boring and saturating. Therefore this study was conducted so that teachers better understand their students that reading is very important and add insight and knowledge and the teacher must make a way like the teacher must talk to the principal to add comics to the library so that when students librarians don't just textbooks that he met but there were comics, fairytale books, folklore books, etc.

Abstract

ABSTRACK This research is motivated by the students' ability in writing and understanding descriptive text is still lacking. This is because students do not really understand what they have to write in order to produce a description essay. To improve the description writing skills of SMA Negeri 1 Maniamolo students, the authors apply a learning model through a contextual approach with the aim of improving descriptive writing skills in students. This research was carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Maniamolo with the research subjects of class X IPA 1 totaling 17 people. The form of this research is classroom action research (CAR). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that, (1) the average is 68.00 and in Cycle II there is an increase to 70.24 and from the achievement of KKM 58.82% to 70.59%. In Cycle III, there was an increase in description writing skills from the average of cycle II, namely 70.24 to 73.88 and the KKM achievement from 70.59% to 88.24%. Therefore, it can be concluded that based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that, there is an increase in description writing skills after carrying out class actions through a contextual approach. This can be shown by increasing the skills to write descriptions before and after the action.

Abstract

Language is communication tool. One part of teaching writing skills is writing or composing paragraphs. Based on the results of observations by researcher to Indonesia language subject teachers in SMP N 3 Alasa Talumuzoi it was found that some problems in learning to write persuasive paragraphs were still lacking, students’ understanding in arranging words in form a persuasive paragraphs was still lacking, because student were still lacking understand the meaning and way of writing persuasive paragraphs. The research problem is limited to “ Effort to Improve Writing Skill Paragraph Persuasive Through grade SMP N 3 Alasa Talumuzoi 2020/2021. The formulation of this research is how to improve and process image media in improve persuasive paragraph writing skill and the process of class VIII SMP N 3 Alasa Talumuzoi. While the purpose of this study was to describe to improvement of persuasive paragraph writing skills the process of drawing media for class VIII SMP N 3 Talumuzoi. The method used in this study namely classroom action research using image media, which means media that combines the expression of word in pictures. The result of the research in the first cycle with an average student score of 43,92 with a completeness percentage of 11,90 % and the percentage of 88.09 % incompliance indicate that the level of mastery was still lacking. Furthermore in the second cycle with an average student score 80,11 with a completeness percentage of 95,24 % and a percentage of 4, 76 % incompleteness, an increase in the level of mastery showed excellent. The conclusion in this study by applying image media can improve students’ ability to write persuasive paragraph and student are more active in learning and the suggestion in this study are expected to provide input for Indonesian language and literature subject teachers in SMP N 3 Alasa Talumuzoi by applying image media in writing persuasive paragraphs is expected to increase student’ insight in solving a problem.

Abstract

Online learning is known that is learning that is connected to a computer or android network. In addition to Online there are also many learning using the internet such as WEB-based learning, Hybrid Learning and E-Learning. The author's objectives are (1) knowing WEB-based learning models, (2) to find out the Implementation of WEB-Based Learning, (3) prevention of the spread of COVID-19. The research used is Quantitative Research and using WEB-based learning models. Therefore it is very important WEB learning model to prevent the spread of COVID - 19. From the results that can be seen in using this learning model, students sometimes find it difficult to understand the explanation given by educators. Due to internet limitations or android usage. So it is recommended for students with the use of online learning models students can reduce activities outside the home and can help reduce the distribution chain of COVID-19.Keywords: WEB Based, Implementation, COVID prevention - 19

Abstract

This study discusses the use of cohesion markers in the lyrics of the song "Terang Bula" by the late Djaga Depari. The aim is to describe the shape of the marker Grammatical cohesion and lexical cohesion between lyrics in the song. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Subject on This research is the song "Terang Bulan" by the late Djaga Depari. The object of this research is the whole form of cohesion markers contained in the songs "Terang Bulan" by the late Djaga Depari. Data obtained by reading and taking notes. The results showed that The form of markers of grammatical cohesion and lexical cohesion found in the song “Terang Bulan” is in the form of a) exophore reference and endophore reference, b) substitution, c) ellipsis, d) conjunction, and e) reiteration in terms of repetition.

Abstract

Abstract: The purposes of this research are to improve: (1) learning process quality and, (2) students skill of writing explanation text using demonstration method. This research was held at Senior High School XI Persiapan Stabat. The results of this research are: 1) demontration method can improving process quality of writing exlanation text learning of XI Science 2 of Senior High School 1 Swasta Persiapan Stabat in Academic Year of 2020/2021 that shown by improved teacher and students performance. The average value of teacher performance in cycle I is 70,83 (enough) and in cycle II is 81,05 (good). Then average value of students performance in cycle I is 59,3 (bad) and in cycle II is 81,16 (good); (2) the demonstration method can improve students skill of explanation text writting of XI Science 2 of Senior High School Swasta Persiapan Stabat in Academic Year of 2020/2021 that shown on achive of value minimum completeness, that is 75. The average of students skill of writing explanation text in cycle I is 74,7 with percentage of 62,5% and in cycle II is 82,3 with percentage of 90,9 %.

Abstract

Reading skill is a skill in recognizing and understanding writing in the form of letters, words, and sentences in reading in order to obtain information contained in the reading. By reading we are able to understand the contents of the world and our thinking patterns develop. Developing the courage of students to want to talk and learn can be developed through education. However, unfortunately reading habits are still considered trivial even there are still many students who find it difficult to read fluently. Therefore, there is a need for media that will deliver to students to wish to read continuously. This study aims to improve early reading skills in the lower classes through the Big Book media.This type of research is classroom action research conducted collaboratively, in which collaborative itself is a situation where there are two or more people studying or trying to learn something together - together. The subjects of this study were grade 1 students at Alwashliyah Elementary School, Medan Marelan District, which consisted of 21 female students and 14 male students. Data collection techniques in this study used tests, observations, and interviews. The qualitative data collection instruments used observation sheets and quantitatively used reading skills tests. The data analysis test used is quantitative and qualitative descriptive data analysis.Keywords: Beginning reading skills, Big Book media

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to improve the exposition writing skills of class X SMA Negeri 1 Hilimegai by using discovery learning method. The use of this learning model is expected to make it easier for students to understand the material and be able to write exposition text so that students' abilities increase. Through discovery learning model, improvement can be seen both in process and product. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Hilimegai. The research subjects were 23 teachers and students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Hilimegai. The implementation of this research is divided into two cycles, each cycle carried out in two meetings. Research data obtained through. The data collection methods used in this research are the observation method, the test method, and the questionnaire method. And also in the form of student assignments and photo documentation during learning. The data analysis technique was carried out by using a qualitative descriptive technique. The product success criteria in this study can be seen from the change in value that is better in each cycle. The success of this research is seen from two criteria, namely the success of the process and the product. The research results obtained are as follows. First, the use of discovery learning models can improve the quality of learning exposition writing in students. This is shown in the improvement of the process in the aspect of learning situations, students are more focused on learning, students are also more active in groups, and learning exposition writing becomes more enjoyable. Second, the use of discovery learning models can improve the results of exposition writing skills. This can be seen in the increase in the results obtained by students from cycle I and cycle II. Overall, at the end of cycle II, all aspects and criteria for exposition writing had increased significantly. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the use of the discovery learning model was successful and was able to improve the exposition writing skills of class X SMA Negeri 1 Hilimegai.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The data collection tool used was a written test, namely making a summary of the story of the legend of Malin Kundang, with assessment criteria, namely point 2 length of the summary, main idea, explanatory idea, use of words and sentences according to the contents of the summary with the reading. before the indicator is determined as a means of collecting research data, it is first validated by the three Indonesian language study teachers in a triangulation manner until it is declared fit for use. After the legend manuscript was administered to the respondent, it was processed statistically; with the results as the interval 71-85. Second, from the results of observations of the level of ability obtained information: 1) a description of student learning outcomes in learning obtained data, namely: students who have a high level of ability are 16 people or 40.504%, students who have a moderate level of ability are 9 people or 24.32%, students who have a low level of ability are 13 people or 34.14%. 2) a description of student learning outcomes for each item of question is obtained: for item 1 (ability level 36 people, and medium ability level 1 person), for item 2 (high ability level 22 people, medium ability level 7 people, low ability level 8 people ), for icon 3 (high ability level 24 people, medium ability level 5 people, low ability level 8 people), for item 4 (high ability level 25 people, medium ability level 6 people, medium ability level 7 people, low ability level 28 people) based on the description above, it can be concluded that the students' ability to write a narrative paragraph framework is classified as moderate. This statement is stated as moderate because of the variation in the abilities of students where there are good performers and some are low. So that to determine it, take the middle way, namely moderate.

Abstract

Media is one of the most important tools for learning activities, the right media will support teaching and learning activities that take place in class. The media is an intermediary / liaison between teachers and students. Images can be used as educational media and have educational values for students that enable efficient learning of student participants related to the use of image media in science learning in elementary schools. But in fact sometimes teachers have not been able to use appropriate learning media in classroom learning activities.Learning achievement is a measure of a person's level of success in something, a person's achievement can be seen based on the score obtained in completing exam questions related to the material being pursued. Each learning course expects maximum learning outcomes, but in reality there are still students who get a science score below the KKM
