Abstract

ABSTRACTIncreasing numbers of vehicles wil lincrease the concentration of carbondioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. Bogor Botanical Gardens was chosen as study site because it is one of urban forest in Bogor City with an important role in absorbing carbondioxide (CO2). Therefore to calculate carbondioxide (CO2) that was absorbed by canopy trees in Bogor Botanical Garden used the software ArcView3.2 and extensions CITYgreen 5.0. Based on the result of the analysis CITYgreen 5.0 obtained information stating that existing condition in Bogor Botanical Gardens has carbondioxide (CO2) sequestration potential by 134,61 tons/year and it is able to absorb carbondioxide (CO2) emissions only 0,06 % of carbondioxide (CO2) emitted by motor vehicles at this time. Bogor Botanical Gardens with the first scenario could increase the carbondioxide (CO2) sequestration potential from existing condition by 117,06%. The first scenario is able to absorb carbondioxide (CO2) emissionsby 0,055% carbondioxide (CO2) emitted by motor vehicles in 2040. Then the second scenario was made to increase the carbondioxide (CO2) sequestration potential. The second scenario could increase the carbondioxide (CO2) sequestration potential from the existing condition in the Bogor Botanical Gardens by 267,88%. The second scenario is able to absorb carbondioxide (CO2) emissions by 0,094% sof carbondioxide (CO2) emitted by motor vehicles in 2040.Keywords: Bogor Botanical Garden,Carbondioxide (CO2) emission, Carbondioxide (CO2) sequestration, CITYgreen 5.0

Abstract

ABSTRACTBeach landform is geographically formed by sand and located in sea shore. Land use change of mangrove forest into embankment and the development of tourism in Tan-jung Baru Beach has lead to the occurrence of enviromental degradation in this area. This research was aimed to identify and analyze bio-physical condition, and also to propose landscape planning concept and development toward the ecologycal landform based tourism planning. The method used in this research refers to ecological approach with the planning stages by Gold (1980). That method consists of preparation, inven-tory, analysis, synthesis, and landscape planning. Descriptive and spatial analyze were used to determine the quality ecology and tourism aspects. Spatial analysis of these aspects is use to determine the quality of ecology and tourism area of Tanjung Baru Beach. The result of this research shows that there are 4 quality categories of ecology aspect which are worst, less, rare, and good. The tourism aspect found that the category is the same as in ecology aspect. The proposed recommendation is focused on conservation and rehabilition of mangrove forest as ecological based tourism planning.Keywords: Ecology, Landform, Beach, Tourism, Landscape Planning

Abstract

ABSTRACTThere is a problem that is frequently complained by the nursery which usually cultivated orange jessamine (Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack) from seed as a landscape plant. The problem is orange jessamine usually flowering although the size of the plants are still very small (about 5 cm) and even only has two leafs. These condition tends to be less favorable for the nursery because the orange jessamine grows slow because of vegetative growth was delayed due to the generative growth is underway. This study aims to see how important the presence of orange jessamine flowers in the nursery and how its relationship with branching, plant height, numberof leaves and number of leaflets. This research used a simple linear regression analysis and correlation of 150 orange jessamine plant seeds. The results showed only the correlation of the amount of flowers with plant height that has no significant correlation. Nevertheless, the presence of flowers in the nursery remains important because every increase in the number of flowers, there is also an increase in the number of branch, number of leaf, and number of leaflet.Keywords: Murraya paniculata (L.) Abstract

ABSTRACTAgriculture is the one of the important sector that contributes the economic growth in Indonesia. But, now the economic growth is not in line with the agricultural land growth and the prosperity of the farmer. The effort to develop the agricultural sector which engage the farmer is the one thing that we can do to increase the prosperity of the farmer. Integrated farming give us the big opportunity to increase the farmer?s income in the village. Basically, the integrated farming is the agricultural system which characterized with the interaction and synergy dependability between various agricultural activities. The methode of this research is descriptive methode, using various reference books to get information about integrated farming. Then, applying the information to concept and concept development. Abstract

ABSTRACTCorridors are narrow strips of land which differ from the matrix on either side. There are two types of corridors, namely linear corridor and stepping stone. One example of corridor is a landscape along the path of KRL Railway Bogor-Jakarta Kota. Corridor is important for bird movement. Nowadays there is habitat fragmentation along the corridor which is threatened their corridor function. Therefore it should be maintained for sustainable corridor. This study was conducted at corridor along the KRL Railway Bogor-Jakarta Kota which is divided into five segment. Three analyses were used in this study, i.e. corridor distribution analysis, vegetation analysis and bird abundance analysis. Stepping stone corridor has higher number of bird abundance than the linear corridor. Both of corridors have the potential to become a habitat of birds which is indicated by abundance species of birds. The highest abundance of a bird was found in corridor with diversity of plants (Shannon Wienner Index) in the medium level. Several recommendation have provided for managing the corridor such as managing and revitalizing the corridor, increasing vegetation diversity and increasing public awareness for bird habitat conservationKeywords : birds, GIS, habitat fragmentation, linear corridor, stepping stone

Abstract

ABSTRACTSindang Barang Experimental Field (KPSB) is one of a supporting facilities for research, education, and community service. KPSB is one of University Farm (UF) of IPB, with total area 78 750 m2, consist of planting Bloks, research garden, building, and supporting facilities. Recently, KPSB is not used optimally and and not put in good use due to lack of facilities. Therefore, landscape design of KPSB is needed as a reference for future development of KPSB. The purpose of this study is designing an experimental field with techno-ecologycal farming concept. This research used survey and descriptive method with the design phase approach followed Bell (2008). The main design concept is techno-ecological agro tourism. This design was not only concern about research and education activities, but also how to support agro tourism. The zoning in this design are: welcome area (9%), agriculture (27%), education (23%), livestock (11%), talun (20%), and tourism (10%). In the future, it is expected that agrotourism activities can be done well on KPSB.Keywords: agro-tourism, experimental field, landscape design
