Abstract

The city of Pariaman lied on vurnerable area of two continental plates of Eurasian and Indo-Australian plates and passed by Semangko fault line as well. Based on the index map Threats Tsunami in Indonesia by the National Disaster Management Agency (BMKG), the coastal west area of Sumatra Island is an area of the tsunami hazard. The purpose of this study is to arranging landscape plan of the city of Pariaman based on tsunami mitigation. The method used in this study consists of five phases starting from the preparation, inventory, analysis, and landscape planning. The spasial analysis was conducted to determine the level of tsunami hazard and hazard risk to tsunami in the city of Pariaman which are consist of sensitivity analysis, and analysis of vulnerablility to tsunami. The factors that used in sensitivity analysis are seismicity and run up of tsunami (12 m height), while the vulnerable analysis factors are elevation, slope, coastal morphology, land use, distance from the shoreline, and the distance from the river. The results of analysis show that most area of Pariaman City can be classified into low level hazard risk to tsunami. Based on hazard risk classifica-tion can be developed the concept to proceed landscape plan. Landscape plan can be arranged into protective space, limited use space and development space.

Abstract

Kupang City in East Nusa Tenggara is one of the coastal area in Indonesia that has the high speed of wind flows. Leaving the rainy season in May and entering the dry season from June to October each year brings the peak wind season from the northwest. It may reach 28-30 Knots grade (Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Climatology Station of Lasiana, Kupang, 2014). The wind flow has disturbed the safety of road users in the city. The study aim to determine the amount and the impact of wind speed that occurs at three locations of roads, comparing some road vegetations which the best and the worst in solving the wind flow problem, and to develop the road planting plan to reduce the wind flow of road landscape in Kupang. The study was conducted on three roads with vegetation plot include Frans Seda, Piet Tallo and Herman Johanes roads. Wind flow measurements made on each side of the road that exposed to the wind. The study was conducted in May until December 2015. The most effective spot in reducing wind flow is at penghijauan spot with the great number and kind of vegetations, tree canopy and tree rapidity in the area. The worst spot for wind reducer is at Liliba spot and Pertamina spot in Herman Johanes road. The result is supporting by 4 factorial designs which showed that the roads have low rapidity of plants, the sort and height of vegetations which are below 5 meters at the road.

Abstract

Architecture in space-making is not only for normal people but also adapted for people with disabilities need, for example : people with mentally disabled or autistic. Children with autism have disturbances about sensory system that failed to respond and are not adaptive to their environment. As a therapy facility, outdoor space should be involved to stimulate the senses or sensory, besides functioning for recreation, ecological, and aesthetic. It became the basic concept of the sensory garden. Generally, the space required is quite extensive because it includes a lot of special zones for the garden that stimuli visual, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. but there is a tendency to be a challenge of limited space architects in preparing the organization of space. The case study was conducted at a school that has a limited space, that is school for disabilities (SLB) Sumber Dharma Malang. In existing conditions, there were plants, pavement, and play areas are not arranged so it makes the urgency for the garden arrangement. Qualitative research methods implemented by the architectural design with the approach of agricultural science and health. The purpose of this study is to provide an alternative concept as a recommendation to accommodate the design capable of autistic children ranging from kindergarten to high school. The conclusion of this study is the concept of gardening landscape. It is not only functioned as an aesthetic part but also as the therapy facility for all children age level in a particular zone.

Abstract

In Article 28 of Law No. 26 Year 2007 on Spatial Planning, plan of providing and utilization of green open space are included in the spatial planning aspects of the city, where the extent of at least 30% of the area of a city. Jakarta which has a total land area of 66.233 hektare achieve, there are currently only 14,94% of the total extent of which is open space. In support of green open space program, it would require the calculation of the land area of green space appropriately, so that the remote sensing data are increasingly being used to measure green open space. This article presents a study on the utilization of Landsat 8 to analyze the vegetation index using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). NDVI employs the Multi-Spectral Remote Sensing data technique to find vegetation index, land cover classification, vegetation, water bodies, open area, scrub area, hilly areas, agricultural area, thick forest, thin forest with few band combinations of the remote sensed data. Remote sensing, especially Landsat 8 and geographic information systems (GIS) are used to obtain information about the appearance on the earth surface. From the empirical study, the class of sparse vegetation ranged from 0.1795?0.3172 (37.29% of vegetation area; 12,03% of Jakarta area), the class of medium vegetation ranged from 0.3173?0.4110 (25.36% of vegetation area; 8,18% og Jakarta area), and class of heavy vegetation ranged from 0.4111?0.7086 (37.35% of vegetation area; 12,05% of Jakarta area). Abstract

Water resources is a natural element that has an important role in the development of a city. Not only on the land, development of the city can be done up to the water's edge. Among the aquatic and urban development zone of interaction it is called waterfront. the principle on planning a waterfront region is to build a public open space in urban areas that are physically and visually facing to the water (beach/river/lake) and can be a forum for community activities. To establish the identity and character of the city, Cibinong Raya was designed with Situ-front City because the city has 17 lakes on its territory. Those lakes in Cibinong Raya has different size and physical condition distinct from one another that could affect the priorities in its development. The study was conducted to evaluate the area around lakes in Cibinong Raya in accordance with waterfront development concept. Assessment on the condition of lakes in Cibinong Raya applies the criteria waterfront, riparian ecosystem status criteria, and the criteria for the status of aquatic ecosystems. The results showed that there are 3 lakes is in good condition and 4 lakes in passably condition to be developed into waterfront area.

Abstract

Green open spaces have a purpose and a great benefit for the balance, continuity, health, comfort, sustainability, and improving the quality of urban environment. Air temperature increases occurred in areas experiencing decline in green open spaces. Among the parameters that contribute to human comfort outdoors, thermal comfort is the most important and significant in determining the quality of outdoor space. The study focuses on analyze the perceptions and preferences of user to the thermal comfort as a quality indicator of park. Methods  used are Chi-Square to analyze perception-preference of user to the site. The Chi-Square was showed that user education were the most influence factor to describe their appreciation to the site in Menteng Park (30.43%). The job background was related with 8% of the perception user in Honda Tebet Park. The category of settled place was influence of 24.14% of the preference user in Menteng Park and 17.24% in Honda Tebet Park.

Abstract

The development of Simple flats (Rusunawa) is one of Jakarta municipality?s program in overcoming both high level of urbanization and land limitation issues. Simple flats that dominated by massive multi-storey buildings and pavement areas needs to be balanced by the development of green spaces. The purposes of this study were to analyze resident?s perceptions and preferences of green space and to develop improvement strategies  and design concept to increase resident?s comfort. This study assessed in four Simple flats: Jatirawasari, Tambora, Pulogebang, and Marunda Cluster A.  The methods of this study were  studied responden?s perception and preference by questionaire and SWOT analysis.  The results showed total score perception analysis of green space in four Simple flats in good category.  Matrix mapping based on IFE and EFE SWOT method showed that all four simple flats green space improvement strategy are in the hold and maintain position.  Suggested recommendation in this study were preservation of existing trees, adding new trees and facilities on available spaces on sites.
