Abstract

Abstract ? Solar radiation and temperature in photovoltaic (PV) can affect the output voltage and current of PV so that it also relates to the performance of the Grid Tied Inverter (GTI) on the on-grid PV system. This paper discusses the performance of the GTI based on output power on solar radiation and PV temperature. The method used in this testing was measuring simultaneously against the current and voltage parameters on PV, the current and voltage of the GTI, and the radiation and temperature of PV. Measurement with a data logger was also carried out on the above parameters in the morning and evening to find out at least the PV output voltage and current when the GTI starts or stops sending the power. The measurement results obtained that the GTI output power is affected by solar radiation and PV temperature. On the same radiation when the PV temperature gets higher, the PV voltage will drop, but the PV current and GTI current will increase. In addition, if with the same radiation and temperature but the AC source voltage was greater, the output power of GTI would also increase. The power produced by the GTI was lower than PV power due to GTI losses. The efficiency of the GTI decreases not only because of the increase in temperature above 35 oC but also due to the decreasing grid voltage. GTI starts sending power when the PV current was more than 2 A at 06.23 AM. GTI stops operating when the PV current was less than 1.74 A at 05.53 PM.

Abstract

Abstract? Most of the people in the district of Sungai Kunyit are engaged in the business of seafood including udang ebi. Udang ebi's monthly production in this district reached 5000 kg. Although the potential of udang ebi processing in Sungai Kunyit dsitrict is quite large, it's benefits still not improve the lives and welfare of the local fishermen. The low of education level may directly affect welfare of society that in general are still categorized as underprivileged families. Partners in this community service activities are the drying group of udang ebi in the territory of Sungai Kunyit district. The partners were Usaha Bahari Terpadu and Karya Bersama. These drying groups of udang ebi are generally running their business still use the traditional way by relying on the natural sunlight for drying udang ebi catches. So that during the rainy season, where the sun shines not too good and often cloudy, their income declined up to 40%. The above problem encouraged the team Community Services in the Sungai Kunyit district to conduct socialization and pilot project in construction drying oven for udang-ebi. Through this science and technology for Society (Ibm) program funded by Directorate of Research and Community Service (DP2M), it is expected to give significant effect on improvement in live and welfare of the local fishermen, especially drying group of udang-ebi, and finally increases the health, education and economic levels of society in general. Abstract

Single phase induction motor usually has two windings. Because of that, the motor usually operated at lower efficiency than the poly-phase induction motor. A new design had been developed by using poly-phase winding to improve motor efficiency, but characteristic of the current winding at low load condition is not good. So that, this study was aimed to design a 4 phase windings construction of a single phase induction motor that using capacitance control of the run capacitor on auxiliary winding. This design was focused for capacitor-start capacitor-run induction motor that had 4 windings, one winding act as the main winding and the other three windings act as the auxiliary windings. The main and the auxiliary windings current rating of the proposed motor were 2.74A and 3.15A, respectively. The auxiliary winding current of the proposed motor was controlled by the ?Arduino Uno? control system. To get the best control system of the proposed motor, the performances of the proposed motor were compared to the performances of a conventional single-phase induction motor that had the same current rating, stator and rotor construction. The single-phase comparator motor used in this study was a conventional single-phase induction motor of 220V, 50 Hz, 1 HP, 8.3A, 4 poles, 1400 RPM cage rotor. The result showed that the proposed motor with capacitance control in auxiliary winding had better performances than the conventional induction motor.

Abstract

Object tracking is a technique for detecting and following the moving object. It can be used to helping security officers to monitor the room that has a large monitoring working area. The aim of research is to design the visual system of object tracking by using pan and tilt vision system. The orientation of camera can move in vertically and horizontally path. Visualization program for this project is consist of motion detection, edge detection and center of mass. The detected object position can be used for controlling the pan and tilt at mechanical system which is mounted on the camera to track the moving object. The results of research show the design of object tracking can detecting and following walking human with an ideal distance of 6 meters and directional angular shift is 5 degrees on the visual resolution of 360 × 240 pixels

Abstract

Abstract? Pada saat ini pengendalian on/off  berbagai piranti listrik kebanyakan masih dikendalikan secara manual, yaitu  dengan menggunakan saklar. Perkembangan gaya hidup dan dinamika sosial saat ini menunjukkan semakin pentingnya kepraktisan dan efisiensi khususnya bidang energi listrik. Orang yang masuk ruangan gelap tentunya akan menyalakan lampu untuk melakukan aktivitas. Namun apabila orang tersebut akan keluar ruangan, belum tentu orang tersebut memadamkan lampu-lampu yang menyala, terutama lampu-lampu pada fasilitas umum seperti pada ruang  Toilet, kantor  maupun kelas. Hal ini terjadi dikarenakan tidak adanya rasa memiliki, malas atupun lupa untuk memadamkan lampu tersebut. Apabila hal tersebut diatas sering terjadi dalam waktu yang lama, maka akan terjadi pemborosan penggunaan energi listrik Penelitian ini membahas mengenai sistem hidup-mati beban listrik  khusunya lampu penerangan secara otomatis berdasarkan panas tubuh manusia.  Sistem yang berbentuk saklar on/off ini dibangun dengan menggunakan IC 555 sebagai pewaktu penyalaan lampu, dilengkapai dengan sensor Pasif Infra Red (PIR) yang dapat mendeteksi adanya gerakan manusia disekitar sensor. Selain itu saklar ini juga dilengkapi dengan sensor Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) untuk mendeteksi intensitas cahaya sekittar. Berdasarkan pengujian rangkaian saklar otomatis diperoleh bahwa rangkaian saklar dapat menghidupkan lampu secara otomatis apabila ada gerakan manusia dan intensitas cahaya ruangan dalam keadaan gelap/redup. Besar arus yang dikonsumsi oleh rangkaian saklar otomatis sebesar 22mA, nilai arus ini sangat kecil jika dibandingkan dengan pemborosan yang terjadi. Rangkaian saklar otomatis dapat mendeteksi adanya gerakan manusia pada jarak sekitar 5 meter dan daerah jangkauan sebesar 50°. Keywords? IC 555, Pewaktu, saklar, PIR, LDR

Abstract

Everyone must have a rush outside the house, sometimes in a hurry even forget to turn off and turn on the light in the house during the morning or night. At times like this, of course, that makes people lazy to go back to the house to turn off the light that causes electricity waste and make time efficient to turn on the light. In this study a prototype of lighting control will be made where observations have been made about the prototype need. Then look for literature related to light control prototypes. The prototype method uses the blynk application as a light controller connected to the internet with the media via wifi. ESP-01 as a microcontroller processes commands from a smart phone which then results in controlling both the off and on the lights as well as the receiver and transmitter in the lighting control system. Thyristor switch module as an electrical switch instead of a manual switch at home to turn on or turn off the light through commands from the microcontroller. This prototype is very easy to use because through a prototype smart phone can be controlled, so this is a solution for humans to turn on or turn off the light by utilizing wifi in the house. From the experiments that have been carried out the average speed of the prototype tool receives an order from open source blynk application in 0.28 seconds

Abstract

Digital power supply with LM317 regulator have been built. The output voltage of LM317 regulator is digitalized by means of ADC pins in ATmega8535 microcontroller. 128 prescaler is used to make the microcontroller?s frequency in the region of ADC?s frequency, therefore ADPS0, ADPS1 and ADPS2 must be high (1). AVcc (5V) is used as voltage reference, it is means that REFS0, REFS1 is set to high (1) and low(0) respectively.   LCD 16x2 is used to display the voltage output of LM317. The research divided into three stages: theoretical study, simulation and implementation. Theoretical study consists of AC-DC conversion and digitalizing the output voltage of LM317. Aim of the study of AC-DC conversion is to know the specification of elements to build 30 V, 1 A power supply. Circuits and coding in ATmgea8535 for converting analog to digital is studied. Proteus software is used for designing the circuits and simulation while Atmel Studio for compiling the coding. The difference of voltage measurements is found between digital voltmeter and LCD in the implementation stage, the range is 0.2-3.19 V. After callibration, same voltage values both on voltmeter and LCD is displayed. It is concluded that minimum-maximum output voltage of power supply is 1.2-27.10 V.

Abstract

Abstract ? Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) is one form of health services in Indonesia that is based on community resources, especially for the health of mothers and balita (children under five). One of the services at the Posyandu is monitoring the growth of balita by measuring their weight and height regularly. So far, the measuring instrument used conventional and the results are not stored properly. This study aims to apply the database that are integrated with measuring instruments that can be used to monitor the growth of balita. The proposed system includes making a measuring device (hardware) that is connected to a database application (software). Hardware includes loadcell circuits, ultrasonic sensors and Arduino as data processors. LabView is used for database applications and interfaces. The system has the function of data acquisition, monitoring, storing data into a database, displaying and printing data. The results show all aforementioned functions are successfully working to achieve the design requirements. This application can be used to monitor the growth of balita at the Posyandu. The measurement data is stored for database. Recapitulation of measurement result can be displayed in graphical and can be directly printed to be given to parents of balita when measuring their children.

Abstract

Abstract? Tundaan waktu sering diabaikan pada tahap perancangan tanpa meninjau efek yang akan ditimbulkan pada saat hasil rancangan di implementasikan. tundaan waktu dapat berdampak pada menurunnya kinerja kontrol menjadi menurun atau bahkan gagal. Sistem kontrol prediktif merupakan salah satu solusi yang mungkin, untuk mengatasi dampak dari adanya tundaan waktu di dalam sistem kontrol proses. Perubahan perilaku sistem hanya dapat dilakukan melalui penambahan suatu sub sistem, yaitu kontroler. Kontroler PID merupakan jenis kontroler yang paling populer dan banyak diterapkan di dunia industri. Kontroler PID dalam banyak kasus telah terbukti memberikan unjuk kerja yang relatif memuaskan, baik digunakan sebagai sistem regulator maupun sebagai sistem servo. Namun, untuk sistem kontrol proses yang disertai dengan tundaan waktu, PID belum memberikan kinerja yang memuaskan. Tundaan waktu adalah salah satu masalah yang paling serius dalam meningkatkan kinerja kontrol. Penelitian menyajikan simulasi, dan analisis pendekatan prediktor Smith untuk mengkompensasi tundaan waktu agar dapat meningkatkan kinerja kontroler PID konvensional. Jika model tersedia, maka efek dari aksi kontrol yang terjadi pada keluaran proses ke depannya dapat diprediksi tanpa menunggu sepanjang tundaan waktu. Model matematika yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan variabel proses yang disturbance-free memiliki dua elemen yang terhubung secara seri. Elemen pertama mewakili semua perilaku proses yang tidak disebabkan oleh tundaan waktu. Dan elemen kedua hanya berupa tundaan waktu. Strategi Smith menghadirkan suatu estimasi tentang seperti apa variabel proses tanpa adanya disturbance dan tundaan waktu ke dalam jalur umpan balik. Abstract

This research discusses the Arduino Uno based public street lighting intensity control system. The street lighting technology applied so far is still conventional technology that is classified as wasteful of energy because it still uses a continuous lighting system or an On-Off system. PJU problems arise because of too much power consumption caused by the use of large power lamps and lamp operating times. This research utilizes Arduino Uno and RTC to control the value of the variable voltage output transformer based on time division. This system has been able to control the voltage of 400 watt sodium lamps.  The output voltage of the transformer has been divided into three levels, namely level 1, level 2 and level 3. The division of this level is based on the operating time of the lights, namely level 1 at 1830 WIB to 2200 WIB, level 2 at 2201 WIB until 2359 WIB, level 3 at 0000 WIB until 0530 WIB. Transformer output voltage at level 1 can be 220 volts. The output voltage of the transformer at level 2 can be 210 volts. Transformer output voltage at level 3 can be 200 volts. The intensity of the 400 watt sodium lamp light at level 1 is an average of 99.9 lux. The intensity of the 400 watt sodium lamp light at level 2 is an average of 85.45 lux. The intensity of the 400 watt sodium lamp light at level 3 is an average of 78.6 lux.
