Abstract

Rangkaian alat ukur yang diantarmukakan padakomputer pribadi ini, dirancang untuk melakukanpengukuran terhadap kecepatan dan arah angin. Anginyang menerpa cup anemometer akan menggerakkan cup,sehingga poros anemometer yang dikopel dengan motor arussearah berputar dan menghasilkan keluaran berupategangan analog, yang menjadi masukan untuk Analog toDigital Converter (ADC) sehingga didapatkan keluarandalam bentuk digital. Begitu juga pada saat angin mengenaibaling-baling penentu arah angin, akan menggerakkanporosnya sehingga baling-baling berputar, hal ini akanmenyebabkan lempeng lingkaran yang telah dilubangisepanjang 45odan merupakan bagian tembus cahaya, ikutberputar diantara delapan buah sensor optocoupler. Jikabagian yang tembus cahaya terkena cahaya LEDinframerah, maka ada keluaran pada optocoupler, keadaanini dinamakan logika 1. Sebaliknya jika bagian yang tidaktembus cahaya terkena cahaya LED inframerah makakeadaan ini dinamakan logika 0. Setiap output dari sensorsudah mengalami konversi ke bentuk sinyal digital, berupabilangan biner agar dapat dibaca dan diproses olehkomputer melalui antarmuka modul PPI8255. Informasidata masukan tersebut digunakan untuk menetukankecepatan dan arah angin dengan bantuan program VisualBasic, selanjutnya hasil pengukuran ditampilkan pada layarmonitor komputer.

Abstract

The photovoltaic grid-connected business opportunity offers challenges to power quality and voltage fluctuations in the distribution system. The purpose of this study is to optimize the location and power capacity of the grid-connected photovoltaic so that the voltage values are in accordance with the operating standards and meet the requirements of the connection techniques in the distribution system. The distribution system tested is the 69 Buses radial distribution feeder. The optimization uses three constraints namely voltage constraints, active power capacity constraints and total active power capacity constraints of the Grid-Connected Photovoltaic. The Optimization is carried out by considering the value of the percentage of the total active power of the Grid-Connected Photovoltaic capacity to the total load in the distribution system. The optimization results in the first simulation indicated seven grid locations with a total active power of 1.156 MW (38% PV) and produced a fitness value of 0.029. The second Simulation showed 7 locations with a total active power of 1.243 MW (41% PV) and produced a fitness value of 0.023. The Third simulation was identified with 11 locations with a total active power of 1.385 MW (46% PV) and produced a fitness value of 0.022. The best fitness value is the lowest value of the active power losses. The entry of a number of the Grid-Connected Photovoltaic System with distributed location can increase the voltage level in the distribution system.

Abstract

The fossil energy sources dwindling due to the many needs, especially in industrial and automotive sectors which are the largest energy users and the highest waste heat-producing. This causes many alternative energy sources are developing, included thermal energy utilization. The research utilized waste heat energy from motorcycle exhaust pipe into electrical energy with using Thermo Electric Generator (TEG). By using the thermocouple principle, difference of temperature between hot and cold side of TEG resulted voltage. Testing was conducted with three points are on head, body and mouth of the exhaust pipe. The maximum output voltage is generated in the head is greater than the other positions. At the head of exhaust, the maximum output voltage which is generated by 1 modul, 2 modules and 3 modules of TEG on each other is 1.26 V, 2.27 V and 3.43 V respectively.

Abstract

Telecommunication technology nowadays tries to implement Personal Communication System (PCS) which has Personal Mobility (PM) and Terminal Mobility (TM). PCS can be define as radio technology that uses Radio Frequency (RF) as a transmission medium, which is small and light, and can be implemented indoor and outdoor. One equipment that implements this technology is called D-Link. The application of D-Link is to communicate among users either indoor or outdoor. Research methodology includes deciding the parameters and calculating the path loss between base station and portable station at the second floor of Electrical Engineering Department Syiah Kuala University. The final result was that the communication between the base station and portable station in the rooms at the second floor could exist but the process is rather slow and can experience discontinuity. Those were happenbecause the receiver?s power was below the threshold of the portable station level, i.e.. -40 dB.

Abstract

Radio Siaran FM merupakan salah satu teknologi telekomunikasi yang digunakan untuk memberikan layanan informasi dan hiburan bagi masyarakat. Untuk menjangkau masyarakat pendengar sebagai konsumen yang ditargetkan, kualitas penerimaan siaran menjadi hal yang sangat krusial. Daya pancar dan propagasi dari pemancar dapat mempengaruhi teknis kualitas layanan pada penerima. Masalah kualitas ini menjadi obyek yang dikaji dan pendekatan yang dilakukan untuk mendapatkan hasil, dilakukan pengukuran lapangan dengan menggunakan instrumen spectrum analyzer dan ditambah GPS sebagai penentu keakuratan lokasi pengukuran. Lima radio pemcancar swasta di kota Banda Aceh yang beroperasi pada frekuensi kerja 98,5 MHz hingga 103,6 MHz menjadi obyek penelitian dan akan dievaluasi. Hasil pengukuran lapangan didapati bahwa semua stasiun radio FM yang dievaluasi memenuhi standar kuat medan minimum yang diperbolehkan (E?) sesuai standar untuk kategori daerah rural, 54 dB?V/m  dan daerah urban, 66 dB?V/m. Hasil lain juga tidak ditemukan interferensi frekuensi dan semua stasiun masih dalam batas toleransi deviasi frekuensi kerja yang diizinkan. Dengan demikian, lima pemcancar radio FM yang dievaluasi mempunyai kualitas yang baik dan layanan yang diberikan dapat dinikmati dengan baik oleh pendengar.

Abstract

In recent years the use of wireless technology is growing rapidly. Not only limited to the use of cell phones but also other wireless devices that use the air media as the information transmission line. The antenna is a very important component in wireless devices because its function is to convert electrical signals into electromagnetic signals and vice versa on transmitting the information in the air. One of the technologies that can overcome this is the use of microstrip antennas. The microstrip antenna is a lightweight, easy to fabricate so that can be placed on almost any type of surface and small size compared to other types of antennas. Because of its properties, microstrip antennas are highly suited to current needs. This antenna can be integrated with other telecommunications equipment in small size. This paper describes the design and realization of microstrip meander-line antenna at working frequency 915 MHz to be integrated on a telemetry measuring device pH meter water. The integration of the meander-line microstrip antenna on the pH meter measurements is capable of transmitting pH data at unobstructed conditions with a maximum distance of 210 meters, and in a blocked condition, a building is capable of transmitting pH data with a maximum distance of 110 meters.

Abstract

Raspberry Pi is a small-sized computer, but it can function like an ordinary computer. Because it can function like a regular PC then it is also possible to run a web server application on the Raspberry Pi. This paper will report results from testing the feasibility and performance of running a web server on the Raspberry Pi. The test was conducted on the current top three most popular web servers, which are: Apache, Nginx, and Lighttpd. The parameters used to evaluate the feasibility and performance of these web servers were: maximum request and reply time. The results from the test showed that it is feasible to run all three web servers on the Raspberry Pi but Nginx gave the best performance followed by Lighttpd and Apache.Keywords: Raspberry Pi, web server, Apache, Lighttpd, Nginx, web server performance

Abstract

This paper proposed a new design of circular polarization E shaped patch microstrip antenna fed by proximity coupling for Wireless Fidelity applications at operating frequency of 2.4 GHz. To generate circular polarization in the proposed antenna, the next steps is making three slits on the patch antenna and with this embedded three slits produces antenna E shaped. Besides that, the proximity coupling fed line is used to increase the bandwidth of the proposed antenna. In this research the patch E shaped was put on the first substrate layer while the proximity coupling feeder was put on the second substrate layer. The substrate material used in this research is one of the two layers FR 4 Epoxy with relative dielectric constant ( r) of  4.4  and thickness (h) of 1.6 mm. The circular polarization can be achieved by adjusting the width and length of the E shaped antenna. The simulation of this research gave some important antenna parameters such as axial ratio value of 2.58 dB, return loss of -19.98 dB, VSWR of 1.223 and bandwidth of 151.3 MHz. Finally, its measurement results gave also some related comparative data such as return loss of -22.12 dB, VSWR of 1.16, bandwidth of 153.2 MHz, and Half Power Beamwidth of 580.
