Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the information system of the financial archives on PT Pertamina Marketing Unit I. in this case, we would like to know the problems in managing the archives and to give the recommendation to develop the information system of automatic archives. The methods in this research were using descriptive research and qualitative approaching. The determination of the informant was done by purposive sampling method. Data was collected by using observation on archival unit of work and deep interview to executive employees of archives. Analyzing the data was done by grouping the data from the result of the interview and observation based on examination of assumption to the problems and the pattern the answers from the interview. The result of this research indicated that the process mechanism of implementation of archival information system was not working properly due to some reasons. It appeared because the archival information system was done manually using Microsoft Excel to entry the data. Rhere were some problems in using manual system that cause the inefficiently in searching-back the archives. Due to huge amount of the archives, it would be better if managing the archives supported by the computer-based system. The research has identified various obstacles in managing the archives manually and given the input to improve the archival information system. Increasing the insight and the knowledge about archival information system and reviewing the possibility to complete the task with the support of information technology. We expect the system capable to process the archives dynamically which is active and in-active, also having the features that easy to understand and manageable. Based on the result  of the need of the system, the one that fit appropriately to fulfill the need is Dynamical Archival Information System.

Abstract

The research was conducted in State University of Medan?s Library. The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) the influence of leadership style on employee job performance of UNIMED?s library, 2) the influence of organizational culture on employee job performance of UNIMED?s library and 3) the influence of leadership styles and organizational cultures together towards employee job performance of UNIMED?s library. This research is expected to be useful: 1) as an input for the UNIMED?s library in determining policies to improve employee performance of UNIMED?s library, 2) as a reference material for further research, 3) as the contribution for empirical scholars about how to improve employee job performance by knowing the leadership style and organizational cultureof  UNIMED?s library. Population and at the same sample in this study were employees of State University of Medan?s Library, amounting to 40 people. Data was collected through observation, study literature and questionnaires. Measurement of research variables through a questionnaire using Likert scale. Interpretation of the data is done by a large percentage of the respondents answer. To test the hypothesis used regression and correlation analysis using statistical software SPSS version 17.00. The conclusion is: 1) there is a positive and significant relationship leadership style on employee job performance of UNIMED?s Library, 2) there is a positive and significant relationship of organizational culture on employee job performance UNIMED?s Library, 3) there is a positive and significant relationship of leadership style and organizational culture together to employee job performance of UNIMED?s library, 4) variable overall leadership style and organizational culture influence of 55.8% on job performance, while 44.2% is influenced by other variables that are not addressed in this study

Abstract

This research are purposed to analyze archive information system on the headquarter of PTPN III. The analysis included the implementation of using application software and ongoing process mechanism in managing of in-active archive. The methods in this research was using descriptive research and qualitative approaching. The determination of the informant was done  by purposive sampling method. Data was collected by using observation on archival unit of work and deep interview to executive employees of archives. The analysis was done by grouping the data of the result of the interview and observation based on two stages, identification of problems and analysis of the need of information system and system recommendation. The result of this research indicated that the process mechanism of implementation of archival information system was not working properly due to less of supportive application in managing the active and in-active archives as well as the lack off knowledge of the employees about the importance of the archive for an institution and caused the load of work has not finished on time. The research was analyzing the need of archival information system and also to increase the knowledge an input about managing the archives properly. Based on the result of need the system, we need the new archival application system which is integrated and capable to manage the active and in-active archives in order to smooth the process of managing the archives on the PTPN III headquarter, also to socialize the employees about archival in order to complete the load of work on time.

Abstract

This research are purposed to know proceed of management and storage for medical record and document retrieval at Medan Haji Hospital. This research are done in sub part of take a bord of patient medical record of Medan Haji Hospital. This research is part of descriptive kualitative research by using data collecting method through by interview. The main source which are using by the chief of medical record and a staff medical record at Medan Haji Hospital. The result of research, are got that life cycle of management medical record at Medan Haji Hospital have been done basicly guiding book. Which are got Medan Haji Hospital, numbering system of medical record at Medan Haji Hospital is basicly on unit numbering system which consist of six digit, storage system have been sentralitation. Equalitation system use direct numbering system. Hospital wisdom an equalization shelf have not been implementated because most patient are over 100 of a day. This case have made shelf exploded. Now the arrangement only on type of payment, month and year patient to take medical. The result of analysis based on kind payment, mont, year to make medical which are there on unit medical record are still unadequate and will be run staff working productivity slowly especially storage shelving which must be replaced

Abstract

This study aims to compare the use of print journals with electronic journals for the information needs of students at the University of Sumatera Utara Branch Library of Medicine. Analysis includes the use of journals, journal collections conformity with the needs of the user. The research method used is descriptive research with a comparative approach. In determining the sample used technique accidental. The data was collected through observation and questionnaires to students Bachelor?s Degree General Medicine Program. Analyses were performed by grouping data from questionnaires and observation. This study shows the results of a comparison the use of printed journals with electronic journals, the majority of students often take advantage of electronic journals than print journals. Number of electronic journals in general to meet the information needs of students rather than the printed journal. In general, students expressed more sophisticated electronic journals than print journals.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is toknow the needs of library users SLB-C Santa Lusia Medan. This research location in SLB-C Santa Lusia Medan Libbrary. The research method used is descriptive. Population and also sample in this research, are all the teacher SLB-C Santa Lusia Medan as the user with totaled 26 people. This research is done by giving the proposed procurement of books and journals to the respondent and also by observing the library collection. Result of this research indicate that the user needs cannot be net by the library SLB-C Santa Lusia Medan. It can be seen from the results of surveys that have been cunducted based on the proposed procurement of books and journals, the user very regarding the collection about the development psycology ABK (Children with Secial Needs), child psycology in general, treatment in autism children and learning methods for exceptional children. The refore, sould be additional purchases and collections to improve user knowledge, particularly in the treatment of children with special needs. This can be achieved if the user needs library is met accordance with their respective needs. Keywords: Needs User, library collection

Abstract

Abstract   This research had been done at USU Library. The objective of research were assesed and tested: 1) the influence of organization climate for librarian working motivation at USU Library, 2) the influence of competence for librarian working at USU Library, 3) climate organization and competence influence librarian working motivation at USU Library. The analytical method which are being used quantitative causal associate using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this research showed that the results of the Ftest indicates that the variables consiting of organization climate and competencies can be used to estimate librarian working motivation at USU Library. Ttest results significantly (ttest) states that has a significant influence. Organization climate is variable independent, while the variable competence dependent must be increased again in order to estimate the librarian working motivation at USU Library. Ajusted R square results increase the librarian working motivation at USU Library can be explained by other variables which are not examined in this research.     Key Words: Organizational Climate, Job Competence and The librarian working motivation

Abstract

Results of research conducted in the library Akademi Manajemen Informatika Komputer Harapan Medan aims to determine the level of applicability collection of computer science. The number of member in library Akademi Manajemen Informatika Komputer Harapan Medan as many as 158 people sampled 25% or of 40 people from the membership 'overall. Engineering studies using techniques accidental by distributing questionnaires to library users. Users come to the library 1 or 2 times a week to complete the tasks assigned faculty. Search catalog information using manual and assisted librarians.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the retrieval system of information in improving utilization library collections by student at the Library STMIK Potensi Utama Medan. This study is descriptive survey research method by distributing questionnaires. The study population is students who are members of the library located at STMIK Potensi Utama numbered 2560 people. Sampling techniques using proportionate stratified random sampling technique to obtain a sample of 256 students consisting of three departments, namely: information systems, management informatics and informatics techniques. The results show that the retrieval systems use low 1 time (65.5%). In addition, only (47.7%) use a collection of library materials, so that this condition results in lower effectiveness of information retrieval in the use of library materials in the library collection STMIK Potensi Utama Medan. Abstract

Shame is a psychological reaction that occurs due to the criticism of others, or comes about when other people laugh. Means prioritizing assessment shame society in general. Shame culture is one of the most influential culture to the Japanese people. Responsibility towards victim of Jugun Ianfu is a kind of shame culture of Japan. In writing this journal, the author uses library research and descriptive analyzes were done by describing the data that author got from any references and then analyze it.In addition, the author also uses historycal and sociological theory in this study. The purpose of this research was to descript culture of shame of Japanese people in the context of responsibility towards the victim of Jugun Ianfu in Indonesia. The advantage of this research is to increase the understanding of a shame culture as the characteristic of Japanese that applied in the responsibility towards the victim of Jugun Ianfu. The result of this research shows that there is a realization of culture that shown by Japan towards the world in the form of apologize and compensation towards the victim of Jugun Ianfu, especially in Indonesia.
