Abstract

This research purpose to know the impact of long fermentation with yeast to suweg tuber to know the value of dissolve glucose. The dissolve glucose between times of fermentation about 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours. This research used free variable which was long fermentation and bound variable is glucose value of flour in suweg tuber fermentated. To know the impact of this research, used the "RAL" method. Certainly of glucose value do with Anthrone method used spectrophotometer. The result of research pointed long impact fermentation in glucose value of suweg tuber fermentated. Value of dissolve glucose in suweg tuber fermentated has times of fermentation about 24 hours, 57,77 ppm: 48 hours 76,60 ppm and 72 hours 98,19. At last it should conslused that as long as fermentation (72 hours) make highest glucose (98,19 ppm

Abstract

Abstract. The purposes of this study were: 1) obtain information on the benefits of Moringa leaf extract which has the effectiveness in reducing blood glucose levels. specifically on Rattus norvegicus, 2) obtaining information about the concentration of Moringa oleifera leaf extract) has effectiveness in reducing blood glucose levels, specifically on Rattus norvegicus. Research conducted in the Laboratory of Biology Education Study Program at the Tadulako University FKIP in May until August 2018 and is an experimental study using the RAL method. The independent variable In this study was Moringa oleifera leaf extract, and the dependent variable was the glucose level on Rattus Norvegicus. Data analysis in this research was carried out using, analysis of quantitative Anava data with the help of SPSS Version18. Significant results of an analysis of variance (ANAVA) obtained a significance value of 0,000<α (0.05), which means rejecting Ho and accepting H1. Thus it can be explained that Moringa leaf extract has a significant effect on the reduction in blood glucose levels in rats (Rattus governors). When seen in the results of the analysis of the advanced test using the Duncan test, the best concentration in reducing glucose levels is on the M4 treatment, with Duncan test results that are different from the other, amounting to 113.40. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar likopen dan aktivitas antioksidan tomat asal Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian terbagi atas 2 tahap, yaitu pada tahap pertama dilakukan analisis kadar likopen pada tomat asal Sulawesi dan pada tahap kedua dilakukan uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan menggunakan metode DPPH (diphenyl-picryl-hydrazyl). Sampel tomat berasal dari dua kabupaten di Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan yaitu Kabupaten Toraja (daerah Toraja) dan Kapupaten Gowa (daerah Malino). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kandungan likopen tomat dari daerah Malino lebih tinggi dari pada tomat Toraja. Kandungan tertinggi likopen terdapat pada tomat Toraja sebesar 1478 mg/kg dan terendah pada tomat Malino sebesar 857 mg/kg. Sedangkan hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan bahwa tomat asal Toraja yang di ekstrak dengan pelarut metanol adalah 2,31 mg/ml dan aquades 2,35 mg/ml, sedangkan tomat  asal Malino yang di ekstrak dengan pelarut metanol adalah 2,89 mg/ml dan aquades 2,66 mg/ml. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah kadar likopen yang tertinggi pada tomat asal Toraja dan aktivitas antioksidan yang tertinggi terdapat pada tomat asal Toraja, sehingga dapat dikatakan semakin tinggi kadar likopennnya maka aktivitas antioksidannya semakin tinggi pula.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of leaf of Anona  muricata L. powder against Sitophilus oryzae in rice during storage. This research is experimental research that uses experimental design with a basic design pattern randomize complete design. This study consists of four treatment groups (K0, K1, K2, and K3). K0 = control or no treatment; K1 = 10% (90 grams + 10 grams of rice powder leaves of Anona muricata L.); K2 = 20% (80 grams + 20 grams of rice powder leaves sirsak; K3 = 30% (70 grams + 30 grams of rice powder leaves Anona muricata L). Parameters measured the number of insects which declined during the 1 month storage. Data obtained in deskritif and analyzed statistically with inferensial test Fα = 0.05 followed by the LSD α = 0.05. Results of research indicate that the results of research show that the leaves of Anona muricata L powder. affect Sitophilus oryzae in rice during storage. Concentration of the most influential of Sitophilus oryzae in rice during storage is K3 (concentration 30%), the number of insects that are rejected 10 insects.

Abstract

Kawasan tropis pegunungan (KTP) merupakan kawasan yang rentan atau rawan bencana, baik secara alami maupun antropogenik. Pemahaman terhadap konsekuensi perubahan habitat, dan usaha pengembangkan strategi efektif untuk mempertahankan proses-proses ekologi pada KTP merupakan tantangan bagi ilmuwan dan praktisi koservasi alam.  KTP penting dalam proses siklus hidrologi, pengaturan kelembaban udara regional, pengurangan erosi dan sedimentasi, juga menyediakan sumberdaya penting baik kayu maupun non kayu. Ancaman terhadap KTP diantaranya adalah pembukaan lahan, eksplotasi sumberdaya alam yang berlebihan, jumlah penduduk yang semakin meningkat dan gempa bumi serta letusan gunung merapi. Pengelolaan KTP menuntut komunikasi dan kerjasama efektif antar stakeholder dan memastikan proses-proses ekologi kawasan pegunungan dapat terus berlangsung melalui pemanfaatan sumberdaya alam KTP yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan perlakuan awal limbah kulit udang sebagai substrat untuk produksi enzim kitinase menggunakan Trichoderma virens pada fermentasi substrat padat.  Udang sebagai kelompok Crustacea kaya akan kandungan kitin yang digunakan untuk menginduksi produksi enzim kitinase.  Lima perlakuan awal kulit udang yang berbeda digunakan sebagai substrat untuk produksi enzim kitinase yaitu perlakuan fisik (pemanasan sinar matahari, oven, mikrowave dan pemasakan) dan kimiawi (5% (v/v) HCl dan 5% (w/v) NaOH).  Perlakuan awal kulit udang menggunakan mikrowave menghasilkan aktivitas enzim kitinase tertinggi (0.194 U/gds) dibandingkan dengan kontrol, pemasakan, oven, pemanasan sinar matahari, dan kimiawi dengan peningkatan masing-masing 2.9; 1.37; 1.2; 1.2; dan 41.3 kali lebih tinggi.  Dibandingkan dengan penelitian sebelumnya, menggunakan fermentasi substrat padat, Trichoderma virens menghasilkan aktivitas enzim kitinase lebih tinggi 4 kali dibandingkan dengan hasil yang menggunakan fermentasi cair terendam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Discovery terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VIII MTsN Libureng Kab. Bone Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pre-eksperimen. Sampel penelitian diperoleh secara random kelas dengan membuat lembar undian, saat pengambilan undian terpilih kelas VIIIA sebagai sampel penelitian dengan jumlah 28 peserta didik MTsN Libureng. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada semester genap tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Variabel penelitian terdiri dari variabel bebas yaitu Model  Pembelajaran Discovery dan variabel terikat yaitu keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar IPA. Desain penelitian adalah one group pretets-posttest design. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah tes keterampilan berpikir kritis dan tes hasil belajar.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Model pembelajaran Discovery dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VIII MTsN Libureng Kab. Bone (2) Model pembelajaran Discovery dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA peserta didik kelas VIII MTsN Libureng Kabupaten Bone. Kata kunci: ModelDiscovery, Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis dan Hasil Belajar.

Abstract

This study aimed to isolation and characterization the flavonoid compounds in plants ant nest (M. tuberose) from Village District Majannang Parigi, Gowa regency in South Sulawesi. This research was conducted through several phases, namely: sample preparation, isolation and characterization. Isolation starting from extraction, followed by fractionation and purification, among others, by recrystallization, then performed characterization, which among others, performed with test reagent 1% AlCl3 in ethanol, FeCl3 and with benedict, thin layer chromatography and melting point test. Results of research conducted on the basis of several characterization, obtained pure compounds form crystals amount of 220 mg of yellowish white, needle-shaped, with melting point 116-117 º C, Rf with eluen BAA by 71, reacted positively to the reagent 1% AlCl3 in ethanol which is marked yellow spots occur and with reagent benedict give a light blue under UV light, reasonably suspected that the compound obtained is a type of flavone of flavonoid compounds.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is a descriptive study which aims to study the morphological characteristics of Sansevieria plants in Makassar City. This research was conducted from February to March 2018. The location of the study was conducted in several areas in Makassar city which Sansevieria met. Data collection was done by observing the morphological characteristics of Sansevieria plants. The results of the study obtained as many as 25 species of Sansevieria. Sansevieria plants in the city of Makassar are dominated by species with dark green to gray green, only a few are pale green or have a combination of yellow, have a shape or build a variety of leaves such as wake oval (ovalis), elongated (oblongus), lancet (lanceolatus ), to subulate or terete (subulatus).Keywords: Sansevieria, Characteristics, Morphology, Makassar City.

Abstract

Meiofauna were organisms that live in the interstitial. Synonyms were meiobentos. Meiofauna can also be interpreted as a small group of metazoans that sits between microfauna and macrofauna. This was caused by a very small body size and position was hidden in the sediments and did not provide direct benefits to humans (economic benefits). Meiofauna generally known only by scientists who pursue marine biology and ecology. This study aimed to determine the ecological water quality index based on the island of interstitial meiofauna Pannikiang, Barru district. The results showed that the class was the class that dominates the nematode composition and density of meiofauna in Pannikiang Island. Nematodes were very instrumental in the classroom enrich and enhance the productivity of aquatic ecosystems. Based on the ecological value of the index, the index of diversity (H'), Uniformity (E), and dominance (D) showed that P. Pannikiang have good water quality with the diversity of species and the spread of the number of individuals of each species were equal, a unified community and did not find any species that dominate the surrounding waters. Meiofauna ecology index indicates that the water condition in P. Pannikiang not currently experiencing a very severe ecological pressure, meaning that in a stable community structure, environmental conditions is excellent. Therefore, we need public participation and coordination among agencies in the District. Barru to maintain the condition of these waters.
