Abstract

Currently, 90% of Indonesian small scale agribusiness actors arebeing faced to the global market era. They are also facing a fast growthrate of global market and the market segmentation phenomenon whichexpects positive changes and adaptations in the agricultural supply chain.The method that used in this study is case study. The study location wasbeing selected based on its potential of horticulture product.The study showed that currently the traders have changed theirbusiness pattern from a “pure business” to a business which relies more onthe partnership with the farmers. This phenomenon was being emerged bythe consumer demand which expects the continuity of supply.From the “Social Business” aspect point of view, generally thetraders do the partnership system because of their needs of continuity ofsupply from the farmers, not based on helping the farmers. The result ofweighting showed the total score placed between 28-32,5 which means itcan be categorized as a semi-social business.Overall, the study showed that currently the changes are happeningin the traders business pattern, thus, it gives hopes to the agriculturaldevelopment in Indonesia especially for horticulture products of smallscale stakeholders.Keywords: Global market, traders, horticulture, social business.

Abstract

Kampung Muara which is the upstream of Cimanuk watershed is oneof the areas experiencing environmental degradation caused by land use.In response to these problems, the Research Institute for HumanSettlements devised a model of eco-settlements as an upstream ofwatershed development. This research aims to determine the externalitiesrised from the implementation of eco-settlements model. The techniqueused for this research is case study, while design used is a descriptivemethod that is supported by primary and secondary data. The result of thisresearch shows that, the implementation of eco-settlements model canprovide external economy and lead to external diseconomy. Externaleconomy generated from tangible benefit and intangible benefit. Tangilblebenefits received by the community improvement of water quality andadditional income for the community. Intangible benefits gained from theimplementation of eco-settlements model is the presence of erosioncontrol, reduce risk of flooding, the formation of informal institutionPokjamas Hikmatul Jama’ah, and knowledge improvement of the trainingprocess, particularly in the operation of the technology. Externaldiseconomy of the implementation eco-settlements model is the emergenceof dependence on government support.Keyword: External Economy and Extenal Diseconomy, Eco-settlements,Watershed.

Abstract

Red Chili is a seasonal product which is close to price fluctuation.Price fluctuation is one of market phenomenon that oftentimes has to befaced by horticulture farmer. About main problem that always faced isbargaining position by farmer is low, price information isn’t transmitted verywell, not good on quality and the long of distribution chain. Inefficiency onmarketing system will get crescent other wising to strengthen farmer’sbargaining position. One of the efforts which can be done by the farmer tostrengthen bargaining position is using Spot Auction Market System.The objectives of the research are: 1). Knowing how long thedistribution channel of red chili between through and not through spotauction market, 2) Knowing marketing efficiencies of red chili betweenthrough and not through spot auction market, 3) Describes about spotauction market of red chili.The method of this research is descriptive analytic method. Thisobservational location determined by purposive method. Sampling method inthis research used by multistage random sampling. The first objectiveanalyzed by use descriptive analysis, meanwhile second objective analyzedwith monopoly index (MPI).The result of this research are the distribution channel on red chilithrough spot auction market was farmer sells to collecting trader and thancollecting trader sells to wholesalers and wholesalers sells to retailer andfinally retailers sells to consumers. Index monopolizes between red chilimarketing through auction market is as big as 1,51. Abstract

The aims of this research was : (1) to determine the level ofincome on crab fishing activities, (2) to determine the risk of cost, the riskof production, and the risk of income from crab fishing activities. Researcharea was determined by purposive in sub district Sungai Kunyit with theconsideration that sub district of Sungai Kunyit as the center of fisheriessector in West Borneo Province and most of the people work as afisherman. Analysis that implemented in this research was cost and incomeanalysis and coefficient of variation analysis (CV).The results show that the crab fishing activities in Mendalokvillage sub distric of Sungai Kunyit is profitable for the fisherman withlevel of income is Rp. 9.531.357,-/year. The risk of cost in crab fishingactivities caused by the variance of fixed cost and variable cost. Ther riskof production in crab fishing activities caused by the variance of catchcrabs, the limited of facilites and capital. The risk of income caused by thevariance of catch crabs and the difference of selling price in the in the levelof traders (retailers, traders and wholesalers.Key words : analysis of risk, crab fishing activities, income.

Abstract

Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is a strategic commodity in the economy ofIndonesia. CPO industry also plays an important role in the internationalmarket. The rate of growth of production of CPO is the highest among thecategories of oil consumed. Even a CPO has predicted will pass trade oilfor soybeans at most in the world market be trading.The current Government had new instruments in international tradeactivities, i.e. the export levy of dilegalisasi on September 10, 2005 withthe publication of legislation No. 33 of 2005. Broadly speakingstakeholders agribusiness palm national associate substance of the purposeand size of the export levy rate as well as benchmark price export withbenefit dimension, justice and legal certainty. After looking closely atlegislation of the export levy in the perspective of the development of oilpalm industry, there are 2 national article that needs to be understood indepth. The second chapter is chapter 2, about the purpose and article 3paragraph 5 and 6, of the size of export the levy rate and export benchmarkprices. Both articles still contain questions like: "whether its value hasbeen considering concrete benefits for all palm oil stakeholders national,meet the sense of justice and legal certainty in their implementation?".The review of this paper aims to discuss about the purpose of theapplication of the export levy and export benchmark prices taking intoaccount its benefits for all stakeholders to the national burden of palm oil,which must be borne by the stakeholders and legal certainty, and theirimpact on the performance of the agribusiness palm and farmer income inIndonesia.Keywords : Crude Palm Oil, Export Levy, Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to determine the income and revenue risk from rice farming inirrigated and non irrigated land are also factors that influence it. The hypothesisadvanced is that (1) factors that affect revenue and revenue risk rice farming inpaddy fields are irrigated and non irrigated land area, the price of seed, fertilizerprices, wage labor, the price of seeds, irrigation areas and varieties, (2 ) rice farmincome risk in irrigated land is lower than non-irrigated land. Data obtainedthrough interviews with 80 randomly simple rice farmers. The method used ismultiple linear regression analysis model with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) andthe analytical coefficient of variation (CV). The results showed that the area ofland, the price of urea, ponska price, the price of pesticides, and irrigation areadummy effect on income. While the risk is influenced by the land revenue, theprice of seed, the price of urea fertilizer, fertilizer prices ponska, pesticide pricingand superior varieties of variables. Income risk in the area of irrigated ricefarming was smaller than non-irrigated areas with kofisien variation of 0.83 and0.89.Key words: revenue, risk, rice, irrigated and non irrigated area.

Abstract

This research aims to identify critical success factor of internal and external, to formulate strategies alternative and to determine priority of Durian Sanggaran marketing strategy in Matesih Sub-District Karanganyar District. Research’s basic method is analytical descriptive method. Determination of Matesih Sub-District as the location of the research decided by purposive (on purpose). The type of data used are the primary data and secondary data. Data analysis methods used (1) Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM) to identify critical success factors, (2) SWOT matrix to formulate an alternative marketing strategy Durian Sanggaran, and (3 ) QSPM to determine priorities Durian Sanggaran marketing strategy. The analysis showed that (1) The first ranking of local durian in Matesih Sub District based on the Competitive Profile Matrix analysis is Durian Sanggaran with a total score of 2.909 (2) The Alternative strategies can be applied in the marketing of Durian Sanggaran in Matesih Sub-District Karanganyar Regency are: modify the product, make improvements durian stall traders, and forge partnerships with governments and financial institutions. (3) Priority strategies that can be applied in the marketing of Durian Sanggaran in Matesih District Karanganyar Regency is improving the durian stall traders.
