Abstract

The purpose of this study is to systematically review empirical evidence about how necessary blended learning for vocational education, the blended learning implementation in vocational schools, and the blended learning impact in vocational schools. It analyzed 32 studies concerning blended learning implementation and impact in vocational schools, published in the last five years. Employing the meta-analysis review method, the data were extracted and analyzed by descriptive analysis and concluded in the form of a percentage. This study’s results stated that blended learning could be used as a vocational education system solution by adjusting technological advances. The highest implementation was in the design and management dimensions of blended learning at 39%; It was considered the most important in adopting blended learning in vocational schools. Besides, the study of the highest impact was the increase in students' abilities and knowledge in the form of test scores, which was 42% higher than behavior and motivation’s impact. Therefore, it is necessary for future research to develop blended learning in vocational schools by paying attention to the students’ behavior and motivation impact.

Abstract

Character is a differentiator between humans and other creatures and is the ultimate goal of education. Learning about character values in the digital era is not only through verbal learning or direct examples from teachers, but can also use film as a media. The purpose of this reasearch is to describe the character values in PK films and their relevance to Islamic education. This research is descriptive qualitative research with content analysis technique. The results of this study are the discovery of some character values such as religious, honest, responsibility, hard work, pluralism, helping others. These values have relevance to the values of I'tiqadiyyah or Ilahiyah and values of Khuluqiyyah or Insaniyah in Islamic education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how far the gender ideology influence students in choosing courses and how the curriculum construction which is developed by Early Childhood Education and Physical, Sports and Recreation teacher program. This research is a qualitative research with phenomenological approach. This research was conducted at the teacher education of three programs (early childhood education, physical, sports and recreation program) in Universitas Negeri Semarang. The subjects of this research are the students and the lecturers of each study program. The technique of data collection in this research used an interview technique. The results of this research are gender ideology did not directly affect the students in choosing a specific study program, but it begins from the parenting system that is applied by the parents. The  structure of curriculum in each study program is arranged in appropriate with the demands in the employment industry

Abstract

This research aims to implement the Problem Based Learning model to improve students’ problem solving skill which can be identified from the mathematics learning outcomes. Experimental research is conducted in Focus Independent School Primary School by taking a control class of 15 students and an experiment class of 16 students as the samples. The result of the pretest done at the beginning of the research shows that the experiment class hasa greater average score compared to the control class. The experiment class has an average score of 76.16 while other class reaches 75.64. By having different treatments; control class with conventional model and experiment class with problem based learning model, we may conlude that the students in the experiment class have produced better results than those in the control class.The average scores in both classes, control and experiment classes, are 78.50 and 82.03 with deviation standards of 13.120 and 12.623. The control class has a minimum score of 52.50 and maximum score of 97.50, while the experiment class scores a minimum mark of 60 and maximum mark of 100. It shows that the problem based learning model is more effective to be implemented in the class than the conventional one. Students are given more chances to develop their problem solving skill by exploring for more knowledge and searching for solutions for the problems occurred.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the importance and urgency of the use of multimedia to be used in learning Islamic religious education (PAI) courses at the level of vocational high school (SMK). Data on the use of multimedia in various scientific disciplines is obtained through a comprehensive literature study. Furthermore, the data are discussed based on theory and harmonized with the findings of previous research on the benefits of multimedia in the learning process. Furthermore, the analysis of PAI learning objectives shows the element of personal formation which has a noble character to the Creator, fellow human beings and nature. Based on interviews with SMK PAI teachers in Surakarta it was found that PAI subjects were not given much attention in their implementation. This can be seen in the allocation of study hours which is only 2 hours per week with a very broad range of material. Whereas the expected outcomes in the PAI subjects are very important and very useful in the moral formation of the workers in the future. So, it can be concluded that the use of multimedia in the learning of PAI at the Vocational School level is very much needed so that students can learn not only in class but can independently so that the learning objectives of PAI can be achieved

Abstract

This research aimed to find out: (1) how was the condition of instructional process in mathematics in five grade of SD Muhmmadiyah 1 Ngawi, (2) the suitable developmental procedure of Flipbook as a multimedia for mathematics in SD Muhammadiyah 1 Ngawi, (3) the effectiveness of  Flipbook in increasing students’ motivation. This research designed in Research and Development study design corridor with procedures; (1) analyzing the needs needed in developing the Product, (2) designing prototypical product, (3) developing the product, (4) implementing the product in the field, and (5) evaluating product’s weaknesses. In addition, this study used totally 52 samples. 26 samples in experimental group (five graders in Billal Bin Robbah class) and 26 samples in control group (five graders in Khadijah Binti Kubro class). Furthermore, in collecting the data, the researcher used questionnaire and achievement test as the instruments and it was analyzed using Descriptive statistic methods and ttest. After Administering the data analyses, it was found that: (1) the category of the product was good based on the means of points given by Content Expert-4, 74; (2) the category of the product was good based on the means of points given by Media Experts-4, 66), (3) the product considered very good based on first field test with means of 4, 67 or 78% ; (4) the product also considered very good based on second field test with means of 4, 57 or 91%; (5) H1 was accepted, means that achievement of the two groups was different shown by the means (Experimental Group-72,38 and Control Group-63.83). The result of the t-test was interpreted based on parameter; t DK= {𝑡 𝑡 < −1.706 𝑜𝑟 𝑡 > 1.706} and t obs =8.048 Ɇ DK

Abstract

This article presents the result of the research study aimed at finding out: (1) whether there is any significant difference in writing achievement between the students taught using 3D Virtual Reality video and those taught using 2D video; and (2) whether the students taught using 3D Virtual Reality video have higher writing achievement than those taught using 2D video. The research method used in this study is quasi-experimental research design. The research instrument used to collect the data in this study is writing test. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. The computation of the t-test shows that t-observation (to) = 2.1028 is higher than t-table (58, 0.05) = 2.0017. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in writing achievement between students taught using 2D video and those taught using 3D Virtual Reality video. The mean score of the experimental group improved from 67.56 to 76.55, while the mean of the score of control group improved from 67.26 to 73.25. The improvement of the experimental group is higher than the control group. It can be concluded that the students taught using 3D Virtual Reality video have higher writing achievement than those taught using 2D video.

Abstract

The fact that students have mobile technology does not mean they use it for their academic activities. This research aims to discover what students do with their mobile devices? What guidance did they receive from their lecturers at the university? This research answers are built from a theoretical framework and involves collecting data from samples. For example, problems such as the ability to manage time and learning activities, what students know about technology, what activities they do with it, or what they have learned about it in the context of school education. This study is an analysis of social phenomena. Construction data techniques were chosen so as to enable students to express their own assumptions and analyze their social practices such as semi-open surveys of students, semi-structured interviews with faculty and focus groups with students. All information obtained is then triangulated. It was found that they used their mobile devices even though there were no instructions from their lecturers. Although departing audiovisual has turned into a favorite tool of young people to try to gather information, it turns out students do not make it a choice for learning. Therefore this has become an opportunity to promote the use of mobile technology for academic purposes

Abstract

Education as a conscious and planned effort in actualizing the study and learning atmosphere in developing the potential. Actualize education in the educational order to produce qualified human resources. Every human being has a character inherent in his daily behavior that is understood as ambitus. A person has a good character when their daily life has good habits. To grow character values and behaviors is not an easy task, it is necessary to apply the characters so that values are embedded and manifested in their daily behavioral actions. High School is one of the educational unit that implements the learning of art and culture that can shape the character of learners through the learning of dance. The research aims to describe the shaping of characters for high school students in the learning of dance through the Discovery Learning model. The research using a qualitative approach. Data sources such as informants, documents, places and events. Data collection techniques using observation, interview, documentation and recording. Data validity techniques using triangulation source and triangulation method. Data analysis techniques using interactive analysis model. The results showed that the learning of dance through the Discovery Learning model can form the character of the students. Can be shown at the stage in the model as follows: Stage of stimulus built an attitude of  responsibility; The stage of problem identifying formed the attitude of cooperation and responsibility; The stage of collecting data emerging honest and responsible; Stage data processing with the value of cooperation; Stage of verifying and concluding with an attitude of responsible

Abstract

One of the goals of science education in Indonesia is to produce quality students, namely people who are able to think critically, creatively, logically and take initiative, in responding to issues that develop in society. Students' critical thinking skills can be improved through the learning model used, so this study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry models in improving critical thinking skills. This research is qualitative research. The subject of this research is high school students. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, observation, and tests. The validity of the data used is data triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the use of guided inquiry models in physics can improve the critical thinking skills of high school students
