Abstract

The specific aims of this research is the creation of an Instructional System Design in the form of "Learning Model of Community Technology Science (STM)" which is suitable for use in Chemistry learning. Methods to achieve the objectives of this study include stages: (1) design of learning models; And (2) model trials. The STM learning model is modified by the use of visual graphic media. The experimental model test was conducted 8 (eight) meetings on Basic Chemistry subject, discussion of carbon compound material. The learning subjects are the second-semester students of Biology Education Program, 32 students in class A as experiment group, 32 students in class B as the control group. Research data were analyzed through: a) comparison of test result score (Postes - Pretest) between experiment class and control class, and b) measurement of conformity level of STM learning model through 18 items in Rating Rating 1-5; (1 = very unsuitable, 2 = unsuitable, 3 = less appropriate, 4 = appropriate, and 5 = very appropriate) filled by the students of the model trial participants. The analysis results show: a) Gain Experiment class score 27.12; Gain Class control score 2.69. B) The average score of questionnaire implementation of learning amounted to 4.22. It was concluded that the "Modified Learning Models of STM using Visual Graphics Media" are appropriate to be implemented in Basic Chemistry learning on the discussion of Carbon Compound material.Kata Kunci: Modifikasi model pembelajaran, mata kuliah Kimia Dasar, STM
