Abstract

This type of research was pre-experimental research (one group pretest-posttes design) which involved a class as an experimental class that aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Everyone Is A Teacher Here (ETH) Active Learning Model in Mathematics learning at 10th grade students in SMA Negeri 8 Takalar. This study referred to the criteria of the effectiveness of learning, namely: (1) individual learning completeness, gain and classical, (2) students? activity in learning process, and (3) students? response in learning process, (4) improvement of students' mathematics learning outcomes after the application of active learning model type Everyone Is A Teacher Here.Subjects in this study were students of class X MIA 3 SMA Negeri 8 Takalar as many as 30 students. The research was conducted for 6 meetings. Data collection techniques used are the test of learning outcomes, student activity observation sheets and the implementation of learning, and questionnaire responses of students. Data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis to describe the learning outcomes, student activities, learning implementation, and student responses and infrensial analysis with normality test and hypothesis testing with One Sample t-test. The results shown that: (1) the average score of students' mathematics learning outcomes before being applied Active learning model Type Everyone Is A Teacher Here (ETH) was 85.7 and in the high category, where 27 students or 90% reach individual completeness, 3 students or 10% did not reach the completeness of individuals and this mean that the completeness of the classical was achieved with a normalized gain value of 0.78 in the high category. (2) Student activity in following learning with average percentage of student active activity is 83,3%. (3) The average of learning activity is 3.57 and it was in the category was done very well. (4) Student response to learning mathematics with Active Learning Model Type Everyone Is A Teacher Here (ETH) students who responded positively with the percentage of 85.1% and 14.9% of students who responded negatively. Thus it can be concluded that the Active Model of Learning Type Everyone Is A Teacher Here (ETH) was effectively applied in learning mathematics of students of class X SMA Negeri 8 Takalar.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a mental activity undertaken to evaluate the truth of a statement. Generally the evaluation ends with a decision to accept, deny, or doubt the correctness of the statement in question. The ability of students in solving problems related to math is still low. This is due to the limited ability to memorize the concept or procedure to solve the problem in accordance with the given material. This study aims to determine student's mathematical critical thinking skills on cube and beam material in class VIII SMP Negeri 19 Pilot Banda Aceh. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. The type of this research is descriptive research. The research subjects are class VIII-2, which amounts to 21 students. While the object of research is the ability to think critically mathematics students on the material of cubes and beams. Data collection is done by performing student ability test to solve the problem of cube and beam. Problem given essay as much as 5 questions and interviews. The research data is sourced from result of student ability test and interview. Based on the results of research indicates that student's ability to think critically of mathematics is high. This is because students have met all the critical thinking stages, ranging from classification, assessment, inference, and strategy in solving the given problem. Students in this group know what information is contained in the problem, able to explain the purpose of the problem, can find steps to solve the problem, and even can find other ways to solve these problems. The result of this research is student's ability to think critically mathematics on material of cube and beam in class VIII SMP Negeri 19 Banda Aceh Pilot is high. where students are able to meet the four indicators of critical thinking namely classification, assessment, inference, and strategy.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes in mathematics learning through the adoption of an open-end approach in class IX-A Integrated MTs of Langsa City even semester 2018/2019. By using classroom action research, because this research was conducted to solve learning problems in class through cycles of plans, actions, observations and reflections. The results of this study indicate that the open-ended approach has a positive impact in improving learning outcomes on the tube volume material in learning mathematics. This can be seen from the better understanding of students of the material delivered by the teacher (mastery learning increases from the first and second cycles), namely respectively 62% and 94%. In the second cycle classical student mastery learning has been achieved.

Abstract

Lecturer is educators who are under the auspices of higher education institutions. one of the duties of the lecturer is to guide and help develop the potential of students so they can complete their studies. Likewise, the lecturer in the Mathematics Education study program at one of the universities in Langsa city was appointed as an academic advisor (PA). but there are some obstacles that are felt by PA lecturers, such as the absence of a guidance manual, lack of understanding of technology, students consult only once in one semester, and some students only ask for signatures to fill Study Plan Cards (KRS) and Study Results Cards (KHS ) manual. However, students also have other perceptions, according to the interview results, it is known that PA lecturers are only needed to sign the KRS and KHS, some PA lecturers are difficult to find, some PA lecturers do not have time to consult, PA lecturers do not direct courses in the following semester. so the purpose of this study was to express student satisfaction in mathematics education in terms of PA lecturer services. The approach of this research is a quantitative approach. The research sample was 61 mathematics education students with systematic sampling. For data collection techniques using questionnaires and data analysis techniques using simple regression followed by the -F test. The results showed that the level of student satisfaction in terms of PA lecturer services was in a sufficient category, so it can be concluded that there was a significant contribution between the services of PA lecturers to the satisfaction of mathematics education students.

Abstract

This research aims to examine students' mathematical communication abilities on linear program subject. The research method is using descriptive research with qualitative approach. The subjects who is selected in this research is 5 students of 11th Grade from vocational school in West Bandung regency. The instrument of this research is in the form of test and interview. The result of the research is mathematic communication ability of 11th Grade vocational school students in West Bandung regency in understanding linear program subject is still low. Conclusion of this research is students effort of daily events in language or mathematical symbols or composing a mathematical model of an event in question 1 of 35.0%, students effort in painting or presenting real objects, drawings, and diagrams in the form of ideas and or mathematical symbols at number 2 of 30.0%, and the students effort in explaining ideas, situations and mathematical relationships, both orally and in writing using real objects, images, graphs and algebraic expressions in question 3 of 45.0%. Abstract english version, written using Time New Roman-12, italic. Abstract contain research aim/purpose, method, and reseach results; written in 1 paragraph, single space among rows, using past tense sentences.

Abstract

Dyscalculia is a kind of problems facing by many pupils beside of low-level reading skills. In fact, reading and basic arithmetic operation skills are very important in learning other subjects. The purpose of this study was to examine learning problems of dyscalculia students. The subjects of this study were five Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) in Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang. The results showed that dyscalculia students face some difficulties in understanding the concepts or the process of calculation since they find some difficulties in visual processing. Moreover, dyscalculia students also face some difficulties in counting the numbers according to their sequences, memorizing and applying mathematical operations. As the consequence, dyscalculia students face some difficulties in solving even a simple mathematical problem.

Abstract

Mathematical communication is very important in the process of learning mathematics. Through mathematical communication, students can organize their mathematical thinking in writing and communicate their understanding to others. However students mathematical communication skill are relatively low, so we need a learning model that can improve student?s mathematical communication skills by using brain based learning. The purpose of this research areĀ  : (1) To determine the improvement of student?s mathematical communication skill after using Brain Based Learning Model. (2) To know the comparation between the student?s mathematical communication skill by using Brain Based Learning with convetional learning models. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest control group design. The result showed that : (1) The use of Brain Based Learning improves mathematical communication skill significantly. (2) Student?s mathematical communication skill by using Brain Based Learning were better that student?s mathematical communication skills by using conventional learning model.

Abstract

One effort that can be done to help teachers is to offer a variety of alternative learning as inspiration for teachers in teaching. As one of the learning theory, theory of Bruner could be one appropriate strategies used in improving student learning outcomes in learning the cone. To reveal the effectiveness of cone learning based on Bruner?s theory, this research uses a quantitative approach with this type of research is quasi experiment. The design of this research is the one-group pre-test-post-test design. The subject is a student of class IX Junior High School. Data collection is done with the test results of the study, observation and question form. The results showed that the activity of students to each category on each RPP is effective, the ability of teachers in managing cone learning based on Bruner?s theory is effective at RPP I achieved an average of 4.44 and on RPP II reaches an average of 4.50. Student response against cone learning based on Bruner?s theory is effective where > 80% of students gave a positive response. Student learning results indicates that 20 students (71.43%) completely studied, while the 8 students (28.57%) is not thoroughly studied. Thus it can be concluded that the mastery learning of classical learning was not met. Even so, there was a significant increase in the mastery learning in Bruner's theory with cone in classical i.e. amounting to 50%. For the students who hadn't learned i.e. 8 students (28.57%) will be given additional duties as well as remedial and homework to help students understand the material cone hadn't he learned.

Realistic Mathematics approach based on local wisdom emphasizes the learning of mathematics associated with reality and cultural activities of students. The aim of this study was to: (1) develop learning tools with local wisdom approach Gayo based on realistic mathematics materials Geometry at MTs throughout Central Aceh, (2) promoting the development of the mathematics learning approach to realistic mathematics at MTs throughout Central Aceh through seminars and workshops. Development of the learning device uses 4-D models consist of define, design, development and dissemination. Disseminate phase is the stage of dissemination of devices that have been developed on a wider scale is done through workshops with participants of all teachers of mathematics MTs in Central Aceh. Learning tools created is the syllabus, lesson plans, worksheets, books Student and THB. Abstract

Applying Islamic values are an important part of teaching and learning. The purpose of this study was to determine students? perception towards teaching mathematics based Islamics values. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The subject as students grade VII 1 SMPN 2 Langsa. Research metholodogy used was descriptive qualitative method. The result study showed that the percentages of students? perception towards applying Islamic values on teaching mathematics were 51% strongly agree, 40% agree, 7% less agree, and 2% disagree.
