Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the contribution of school culture and job motivation as an aggregate to the performance of senior high school/madrasah aliyahs/vocational high school Chemistry teachers in Nunukan and Sebatik District, the Province of North Borneo. The study was an ex-post facto research. The sample in this study was selected using census technique or saturated sampling technique and there were 28 senior high school/madrasah aliyahs/vocational high school Chemistry teachers in Sebatik and Nunukan District. The data were gathered using inventory instrument, interview, and documentation which validity and reliability had been tested. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regressions. The results of the study show that school culture and job motivation altogether has positive and significant contribution to the performance of senior high school/madrasah aliyahs/vocational high school Chemistry teachers in Sebatik and Nunukan District and the contribution size is 0.639 or 63.90%. This statement implies that most of senior high school/madrasah aliyahs/vocational high school Chemistry teachers in Nunukan and Sebatik District have been influenced by good school culture and job motivation simultaneously

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran IPA berbasis potensi lokal Jepara untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi ekspreimen dengan cluster random sampling dan pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah RPP dan LKPD berbasis potensi lokal Jepara serta soal keterampilan berpikir kritis yang telah valid melalui validasi ahli, praktisi dan teman sejawat. Aktivitas pembelajaran IPA pada penelitian ini memungkinkan peserta didik memperoleh pengalaman secara langsung melalui interaksi dengan pelaku wirausaha pembuatan gerabah dan mebel Jepara sebagai bagian potensi lokal Jepara yang berkaitan dengan materi pembelajaran IPA. Hal ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam menyambut era globalisasi saat ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran IPA berbasis potensi lokal Jepara efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara. Efektivitas pembelajaran ini ditunjukkan berdasarkan hasil uji t dengan nilai sig. 0,000.Kata Kunci: pembelajaran IPA, potensi lokal, keterampilan berpikir kritis Improving Students? Critical Thinking Skill Through Science Teaching Based on Jepara?s Local Potential  AbstractThis research aims to analyzing the effectiveness of science teaching based on Jepara?s local potential to improve students? critical thinking skill of SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara. The mothods of research is quasi-experiment with the cluster random sampling and pretest-posttest control group design. Instruments of the research are lesson plan, student worksheet, and critical thinking skill test which have been valid through the expert, teacher, and peers validation. The science learning activity of this research makes students gain the experience directly through interaction with entrepreneurs of making pottery and furniture as part of Jepara?s local potential that related to science subject. It is expected to improve critical thinking skill of students to commemorate globalization.  The result of the research is science teaching based on Jepara?s local potential effective to improve students? critical thinking skill of SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara. Abstract

The study aimed at generating PBL-based learning kit product by utilizing blog, at meeting the criteria of learning kit feasibility, at testing the effectiveness of learning kit that the researcher had developed and at identifying the learning participants? scientific process and problem solving skills. In conducting the study, the researcher implemented the 4-D Model. The learning kit development started involved preliminary study, product design, expert and practitioner test, limited experiment and field experiment. The instruments that had been deployed in conducting the study consisted of validation sheet, learning management observation sheet, student response sheet, teacher interview sheet and learning results test. This study generated a product that consisted of lesson plan, teacher?s book, student?s book, student?s working sheet, blog and learning results assessment. The validation results showed that the learning kit that had been developed were feasible for implementation. Then, the experiment results showed that the learning kit that the researcher had developed met the criteria of effectiveness. Based on the pretest and the posttest results that was administered during the field experiment, students? physics learning has increased approximately 17.10 point from the pretest average score, namely 58.20, and from the posttest average score, namely 75.30.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan guided dan Structured Inquiry terhadap kemampuan penguasaan konsep dan scientific skill siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 3 Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen menggunakan desain pretest posttest comparison group design. Sampel penelitian adalah dua kelas XI IPA yang diambil secara acak, satu kelas Guided Inquiry dan satu kelas Structured Inquiry. Data yang diambil berupa nilai penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan scientific skill. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Uji t. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan guided dan Structured Inquiry dapat meningkatakna penguasaan konsep siswa dengan perbedaan yang signifikan diantara keduanya. Nilai N-gain kemampuan penguasaan konsep pada kelas Guided Inquiry lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas Structured Inquiry yang artinya bahwa pendekatan Guided Inquiry lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa.Kata Kunci: pendekatan guided inquiry, pendekatan structured inquiry, penguasaan konsep, keterampilan scientific skill The Effect of Inquiry Learning Approach on the Mastery of Concepts and Scientific Skill of Digestive System AbstractThis research aims to reveal the effect of teaching by using the guided and Structured Inquiry approach on the ability of mastering concepts and scientific skill of Grade XI of SMAN 3 Yogyakarta. This research was quasi-experimental research conducted by using pretest-posttest comparison group design. The sample was two classes of grade XI majoring natural science established randomly, one Guided Inquiry class and one Structured Inquiry class. The data collected included the score of mastery of concepts and scientific skills t-test was used to analyze the data. The results of the study show that (1) teaching by using the Guided and Structured Inquiry approaches can improve students? mastery of concepts and scientific skills with significant difference among both approaches. The score of N-gain mastery of concepts of the students in the Guided Inquiry class is higher than in Structured Inquiry class, which means that the Guided Inquiry approach is more effective in improving students? mastery of concepts.Keywords: guided inquiry approach, structured inquiry approach, mastery of concepts, scientific skills

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep IPA siswa SMP melalui pembelajaran problem solving. Teknik pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII berjumlah 66 orang. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan instrumen tes. Teknik analisis data dengan cara melihat perkembangan n-gain. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata pemahaman konsep siswa sebelum pembelajaran adalah 52,28 tergolong kategori kurang baik. Skor setelah pembelajaran adalah 77,40 tergolong kategori baik. Model problem solving sesuai untuk pembelajarain sains sekolah menengah pertama dan dapat mendorong siswa untuk membangun pemahaman konsep. Terjadi konstruksi pemahaman konsep siswa melalui proses menghubungkan pengetahuan dalam menyelesaikan masalah pembelajaran.Kata kunci: problem solving, pemahaman konsep, pengetahuan deklaratif, pengetahuan prosedural, perubahan benda-benda di sekitar kita. Junior High School Students? Understanding of the Science Concept Through Problem Solving Learning on the Topic of Change Things Around our Life  AbstractResearch was conducted to describe the results of student learning through problem solving model. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. Subjects are 66 students of class VII. Data were obtained using paper based test. Data analysis techniques by observing the development of n-gain. This study showed that student understanding of pretest is 52,28 point categorized as low and posttest is 77,40 point categorized as good. It mean that the problem solving model suitable to the junior high school science class and encourage students to constantly build understanding of the concept. Construction of the concept through the process of connecting knowledge in solving learning problems.Keywords: problem solving, conceptual understanding, declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge, changes things around us.

Abstract

The study aimed at: (1) identifying the criteria of teaching kit feasibility for the advantages of micro-hydro generator in remote area; and (2) identifying the effectiveness of teaching kit implementation on the use of micro-hydro generator in remote area in order to improve the students? concept mastery on SMP Negeri 1 Rampi South Sulawesi. The study was a research and development that adapted the 4D model, which consisted of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The teaching kit that had been developed was a syllabus, lesson plans, student?s worksheet, and assessment instrument. For the data gathering, the researcher implemented the non-test technique, in the form of product validation sheet, student?s worksheet readability questionnaire sheet, teaching implementation sheet, and test technique, in the form of concept mastery test item sheet. The results of the study show that: (1) the teaching kit on the use of micro-hydro generator in remote area that has been developed falls into the ?Very Good? category for syllabus, lesson plan, and student?s worksheet; and (2) the implementation of the teaching kit on the use of micro-hydro generator in remote area has been effective to improve the students? concept mastery in SMP Negeri 1 Rampi South Sulawesi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar IPA yang terintegrasi nilai Islam, mengetahui kelayakan dan keefektifan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan sikap dan prestasi belajar IPA. Sikap terdiri dari sikap religi dan sikap positif terhadap IPA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) yang dikembangkan oleh Borg & Gall. Teknik analisis data menggunakan gain score, independent t test, dan uji MANOVA. Bahan ajar dalam bentuk buku siswa MTs dan buku guru MTs. Penilaian produk buku siswa MTs  menurut ahli materi dan ahli media berkategori ?sangat baik?. Buku guru MTs menurut ahli materi berkategori ?baik? dan menurut ahli media berkategori ?sangat baik?. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan buku siswa MTs menunjukkan sikap religi meningkat tinggi (rerata gain score adalah 0,70), sikap positif terhadap IPA meningkat sedang (rerata gain score adalah 0,57), dan prestasi belajar IPA meningkat sedang (rerata gain score adalah 0,55).Kata Kunci: bahan ajar, buku siswa MTs, buku guru MTs, sikap, prestasi belajar Developing of Instructional Materials for Science Integrated with Islamic Values for Increasing Attitudes and Science Learning Achievement AbstractThe aims of the research was to develop instructional materials for science integrated with Islamic values, to determine the appropriateness and the effectiveness of the developed product  for increasing attitudes and science learning achievement. Attitudes is consist of religious attitudes and positive attitudes toward science. This research is Research and Development (R & D) using Borg & Gall model. Data analysis techniques using gain score, independent t-test, and MANOVA test. Instructional materials in the form of MTs student books and MTs teacher books. Product assessment of the MTs student books according to matter experts and media experts are categorized ?very well?. The MTs teacher books according to matter experts are categorized ?good?, and according to media experts is categorized ?very well?. Learning to use student books showed that religious attitudes have risen high (the mean gain score is 0.70), positive attitudes towards science have risen middle (the mean gain score is 0.57), and science learning achievement have risen middle (the mean gain score is 0.55).Keywords: instructional material, MTs student books, MTs teacher books, attitudes, science learning achievement

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar kimia peserta didik pada pembelajaran hidrokarbon dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) menggunakan Chempuzzle. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang terdiri atas dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Pada siklus I diterapkan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) menggunakan Chempuzzle pada materi hidrokarbon, sedangkan siklus II diterapkan model pembelajaran yang sama tetapi hanya pada indikator materi yang belum tuntas pada siklus I. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, angket, dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) menggunakan Chempuzzle dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar kimia peserta didik pada pembelajaran hidrokarbon. Peningkatan prestasi belajar aspek kognitif meningkat dari 42,9% pada siklus I menjadi 77,1% pada siklus II. Persentase aspek afektif pada siklus I adalah 100%, sehingga pada siklus II tidak dilanjutkan karena semua indikator sudah tercapai.Kata Kunci: Teams Games Tournament (TGT), chempuzzle, hidrokarbon, prestasi belajar The Implementation Tgt-Chempuzzle Of Hydrocarbon To Improve Student?s Chemistry Learning Achievement AbstractThis research aims to improve student?s chemistry learning achievement of Hydrocarbon with the implementation of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model using Chempuzzle. This research was a Classrom Action Research which consist two cycles. Each cycles consist of planning, action, observation, dan reflection phases. Both use Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model using Chempuzzle in hydrocarbon material, but on the second cycle only use unfinished indicators in the first cycle. Data were collected through interview, observation, questionnaire, and test. Data were analyzed by technique of qualitative descriptive. The result of the research showed that the implementation of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model using Chempuzzle could improve student?s chemistry learning achievement of hydrocarbon. The improvement of student?s learning achievement cognitive aspect increase from 42,9% in the first cycle to 77,1% in the second cycle. The affective aspect percentage in the first cycle was 100%, so the second cycle is discontinued because all indicators have been achieved.Keywords: Teams Games Tournament (TGT), chempuzzle, hydrocarbon, learning achievement
