Abstract

Coastal land management are expected not only serves as an erosion control (wind), but also serves to increase farmer’s incomes. This study aims to analyze the income and the potential production of conservation farming system on coastal land in Bantul. The survey was conducted in the village of Srigading and Gadingsari Bantul. Income and potential production of four main commodities, namely red onions, red peppers, eggplant, and sweet potatoes were analyzed using Technical Efficiency Effect Model. Results of the study showed that from 0.1 hectares of coastal land, the farmers obtain the highest revenue of red pepper, which amounted to Rp 3.9 million in the dry season 1 and Rp 2.5 in the dry season 2; followed by red onions income, amounted to Rp 2.1 million in the rainy season and Rp1.6 in the dry season; while eggplant provide the lowest income, which amounted to Rp 98 thousand in the rainy season. The estimation results of Cobb-Douglas Stochastic Frontier Model with MLE method showed an increase in the potential of onion in the rainy season by 7.4%; eggplant 11.4% and 10.2% sweet potato. In the dry season 1, there is an increase in onion production by 10.6%; red chili 4% and 5.6% sweet potato. Abstract

The increasing of global rubber consumption is an opportunity as well as a challenge for Indonesian rubber produsers to increase the quantity and the quality of production. Faced the competition between countries, the quality of rubber products should be enhanced adapted to consumer demand. This study aims to determine whether the quality of the rubber produced in PTPN IX (Persero) Garden Batujamus/Kerjoarum still within the control or not. This study uses time series data, in the form of rubber production data during March 2012 - February 201, that were analyzed descriptively using Control p Chart Analysis. Control p Chart describe the proportion of production damage that can be tolerated as a tool for statistical Control p Chart Application as Quality Control Tools for Rubber Production in PTPN IX Batujamus/Kerjoarum process control. This study shows that the quality of the rubber produced by PTPN IX (Persero) Garden Batujamus/ Kerjoarum is out of the control. The Control p Chart proves that there are still many points that are outside the production control line. The production domination of the third RSS type (RSS 3) cause this problem, so that the profit and the efficiency of the company can be increased if the RSS 3 product can be controlled and be changed with the production of RSS 1.

Such condition caused farmers to change to plant others commodity. The study aimed to: 1) conduct maping of the real system of cassava farm manage-ment and farmers performance in Kabupaten Trenggalek East Java; 2) analyze the components and its relevant on cassava farm management and farmers performance; 3) design model of cassava farm management and farmers performance in the perspective of system dynamic. The system dynamic analysis that did maping the real system creat a mental model, causal loop diagram (CLD). There are two model sub-systems, they are sub-system of farm management are sub-system of farmers performance. Based on the mental model, next we design Flow Diagram (FD) of the model and model validation by using software of Vensim. In the model of farm management and farmers performance, it was found a leverage factor namely technology of integrated farming system (IFS). If a component of IFS is change or slightly increased/decreased, the whole system will also changed.
