Abstract

The processing industry is a growing industry and accounts for around 1/5 of Indonesia's total Gross Domestic Product. This study analyzes the factors that influence the performance of SMEs in the manufacturing industry sector in Malang. Some variables such as internal and external environment, market orientation, are considered as important variables that influence the performance of SMEs, this study aims to examine the effect of market orientation and strategy flexibility on SME innovation and performance. This research is an explanatory study using a sample of 180 managers of processing industry SMEs in Malang. The data collected was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Strategic flexibility and market orientation are found directly (direct effect) to affect innovation and company performance positively. In addition, proven innovation acts as a mediator in the influence of strategy flexibility and market orientation on company performance. Likewise, company performance has a role as a mediator for each strategy flexibility and market orientation towards innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the desire for entrepreneurship (entrepreneurial intention) for students who have obtained courses in entrepreneurship or have even chosen specialization courses in entrepreneurship. It is indicated that there are three variables that influence entrepreneurial intention, namely entrepreneur program education, perceived feasibility and perceived desirability. The analysis used in this study is multiple regression. The populations of this study are students in three excellent PTS in the West Jakarta area. The results of this study indicate that of the three independent variables proposed, educational programs and perceived feasibility show a positive but not significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. Meanwhile, there is only one independent variable that influences entrepreneurial intention positively and significantly that is perceived desirability.

Abstract

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is a public legal entity based on Law No. 24 of 2011 which is given a mandate by the Government to provide social security protection for all workers in Indonesia. This study aims to find out and improve the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan strategy based on service quality issues. The methodology used in this study using quantitative methods by measuring the service quality gap model to determine the expectations of participants and the ability of the organization to provide services. Secondary data analysis was from company-internal data and literature studies to assess various analysis using methods; such as environmental analysis, SWOT, and TOWS Matrix. The strategy to be implemented is the differentiation strategy. BPJS Ketenagakerjaan needs to create three core competencies, namely reliability, responsiveness, and innovation, to create a superior service quality and added value for customers.

Abstract

PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia needs to possess quality and competent human resources in order to face the stiff competition with the continuous growth of similar companies. Human resources development in a company must be well performed and well planned, and one way to do so is by performing evaluations about employee engagement, empowerment, and organisational commitment so that employees? performance can be improved continuously, which in turn will improve the employees? prosperity and the company?s profit. The purpose of this research is to analyse the impact of employee engagement, empowerment, and organisational commitment on the employees of PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indonesia?s human resources division. The data analysis method utilised in this research is the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method, which uses the SmartPLS software. The result of this research is that empowerment and organisational commitment have a significant and positive impact on employees? performance. Furthermore, employee engagement and empowerment also have a significant and positive result on organisational commitment. Employee engagement does not have a significant impact on employee performance, but it has a positive impact on employee performance. It shows that employee engagement does not have a direct impact, but it has an indirect impact on employee performance through organisational commitment.

Abstract

Health is the most common thing and becomes the primary need of every human being. One way to keep us healthy is to diligently exercise. There are various kinds of sports that can be done, and there are also many facilities provided for sports. One of the facilities that can be utilized is the fitness center. One fitness center in Bandung has an increasing number of consumers and members. This shows the existence of consumer satisfaction, one of the variable to meet customer satisfaction is the existence of good quality service. The method used in this study is a descriptive method using primary data and secondary data, the data that has been obtained is then processed, analyzed and entered into the Cartesian diagram. The results obtained from the quality of services provided are in a fairly good category and many indicators are included in the B quadrant where quality is considered important as a factor supporting consumer satisfaction.

Abstract

The celebrity endorsement strategy is considered as one of the promotional tools attract consumers. However, the effectiveness of these strategies in forming brand equity is still questionable. This study aims to examine the effect of the celebrity endorsement strategy on brand equity of endorsed brands. This study uses brand credibility as a mediating variable because endorser credibility is expected to be transferred to brands that will influence the formation of brand equity. The object of research used in this study is OPPO smartphone consumers, that have been increased significantly within the past 4 years. In addition, it is known that many OPPO brands endorse celebrities to introduce their products. The results of this study indicate that the use of celebrity endorsers is not directly able to form brand equity, but the use of celebrity endorsers causes the formation of brand credibility which is ultimately able to form brand equity.

Abstract

Waqf is one of the Islamic law that concern people?s lives which is has a function for the community interest to obey to Allah SWT. In practice, waqf in Indonesia faces many hard problems, because commonly known as non-productive waqf. This research is aim to identify the priority factors that being a barrier to develop the practice of cash waqf on Small Medium Enterprises (SME) financing through Islamic Cooperation in Indonesia using Analytic Network Process (ANP) method.  The result shows that the problems appeared in managing cash waqf in Indonesia divided into two important aspects; there is an internal and external aspect. The rank for most priority problems in inner aspect to less priority based on the priority result is the accountability aspect, human resources, and institutional challenge. The position for external issues based on the priority result is authority aspect and public aspect.

Abstract

The 4A tourism components, including attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary, become prominent variables to be explored for their impact on visitor satisfaction and attitudinal loyalty mainly for relatively new tourism destination. This research conducted at Gili Ketapang Beach located at Probolinggo Regency as this new destination got more attention among tourists in Indonesia. Direct survey and online survey were done to collect the data from the destination spot, which gained 41 useable questionnaires. Due to sample size constraint, this research uses Partial Least Square to analyze the relationship among variables. The finding confirms that only attraction and ancillary that significantly influences visitor satisfaction; while accessibility and amenities do not have a significant role in visitor satisfaction. Next, attitudinal loyalty influenced by attraction, ancillary, and facilities but not availability. Satisfaction indeed affects visitor attitudinal loyalty of Gili Ketapang Beach. Further, the mediation role of satisfaction is well proven to amplify the role of 4A tourism components, except for accessibility.

Abstract

This research examined the effect of stock liquidity on the propensity to pay dividend for 254 Indonesian public listed firms during the period of l 2011 and 2015. Stock liquidity implies transparency level and serves as market monitor for management performance in using the cash flow. Furthermore, this research examines the impact of stock liquidity on dividend payment in the presence of agency conflicts using agency proxies, wedge and government ownership. This paper employed multivariate probit regression. The baseline model has controlled for time in-variant and industry sectors. Robustness checks are employed to present consistent result for other stock liquidity measures. The results confirm the predicted dividend model outcome and prove the contradiction in dividend signaling theory.

Abstract

This research analyzes the correlation between stock markets worldwide. Developing countries stock exchanges are represented by China and Indonesia, whereas developed countries stock exchanges are represented by Germany, Japan, Australia, Singapore, and the United States. Using stock?s daily close prices as data, then assessed with Vector Error Correction Model and Granger Causality. Analyzed indexes are Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite (SHCOMP), Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan (IHSG), Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), Nikkei225 (NKY), Deutscher Aktien Index (DAX), All Ordinaries Index (AOI), and Strait Times Index (STI). Stock data grouped into two periods, the first period is the Asian Financial Crisis in 1 January 1998-31 December 2003, while second period is the Subprime Mortgage crisis in 1 January 2008-31 December 2013. Research results show correlations between analyzed stock indexes in both long run and short run relationship in the firstperiod as well asthe second period, however the correlation between Singapore?s and Indonesia?s stock exchange in second period is unproven.
