Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of state ownership and foreign ownership of corporate risk taking as well as the control variable return on assets (ROA) and the size of the companies that influence the corporate risk taking. The sample of this study was 181 companies from non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2010-2013. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results obtained are state ownership significant negative effect on the corporate risk taking and foreign ownership is significant positive effect on corporate risk taking. In the control variable is return on assets (ROA) significant positive effect on corporate risk taking and the size of the company significant negative effect on corporate risk taking.

Abstract

One of the company's efforts made in motivating employees is by giving rewards, such rewards are in the form of incentives. In order that these incentives can motivate employees, incentives given to companies can be either Monetary Incentive or Non-Monetary Incentives depending on how the appeal or the importance of the incentives for employees. But there are a few things to note companies, particularly with regard to the granting of incentives to boost employee motivation. Because in providing various forms of incentives to employees, the company needs to know the demographic characteristics of the employees as factors that can strengthen or weaken the relationship between incentives and employee motivation. One of the demographic characteristics of the form factor is the age of an employee, an employee who has a younger age it might be more motivated if the company gives incentives rather than a more senior employee. This is because a person's motivation in working for tend to be changed along with the increase of age. Employees with a younger age will likely pursue the monetary in the work, while employees who have senior will be more likely pursue the achievement of the monetary. Population and sample which became the object of this research is the 36 employees of  PT. PG. Rajawali I. The results of the study prove that Monetary Incentives and Non Monetary Incentives give significant effects either simultaneously or partial employee motivation of PT. PG. Rajawali I. Whereas the moderation effect of age factor is not significantly strengthen the impact of influence the granting of providing Monetary Incentives and Non Monetary Incentives of employee motivation PT. PG. Rajawali I.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of safety climate on job accident at employees of PT. Panca Wana Indonesia with safety behavior as intervening variable. The research was conducted on supervisor and employees at operational and production department with a sample of 87 persons. The analysis technique used is a path analysis. The independent variable in this research is the safety climate (X), is the intervening variable safety behavior (Z), and the dependent variable is job accident (Y). Results of this study indicate that safety climate has direct effect and significant on job accident is proved, because it has a significance value (Sig) t 0,000 less than the significance level (α) of 5% t, and safety climate is proved has a effect on job accident with safety behavior as intervening variable, because the value of significance (Sig) t variable safety climate to safety behavior, and safety behavior to job accident are 0,000, is smaller than the value significance level (α) by 5%.

Abstract

At this time, the firms faced tight competition. The firms expected to manage the resources possessed to be able to win the competition. One method used to develop the brand with the expansion of related or unrelated to the parent brand. This strategy is done by utilizing the parent brand advertising campaign media. In the advertising, usually raises the figure endorser such as a celebrityor not to display the endorser with a familiar brand or unfamiliar brand. By looking at the ads with display support different endorser and brands make different consumer response to the perception of risk purchase that ultimately led to purchase intention the product extension.This study was conducted to investigate the effect of endorser support and brand familiarity to perception of purchase risk and its impact on purchase intention of brand extension products. This study tried to see the main effect of the  variables and its interactions with the effect that using a factorial experimental design 2 (endorser support) x 2 (brand familiarity) with between subject methods. Data were obtained from 120 respondents who are students of S1 Management Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Airlangga.The analysis showed that there were no significant difference from the endorser support and there are significant differences from the brand familiarity on perception of purchase risk and there is no interaction effect between the endorser support and brand familiarity for reduces the perception of risk perceived by consumers. Perception of risk purchase also significantly influence consumer purchase intentions on the product brand extension.

Abstract

This study objective is to understand the effect involvement of founder family to financial performance (ROA) and firm market value (Tobins Q) in family firm which is listed in BEI (Bursa Efek Indonesia). Data obtain from annual reports and daily stock price which is publish between 2008 until 2013. Sample of this study included 33 family firm and 198 observation with purposive random sampling. This study use multiple linier regression method to test the effect of founder as an independent variable and control variables which is contain size, age and risk, towards firm financial performance (ROA) and firm market value (Tobins Q) as dependent variables. The result suggest that involvement of founder family has significant negative effect towards ROA and Tobins Q. This result show that family firm which managed by founder family tend to have smaller financial performance and firm market value.

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world which of course, has many ports as a place reliance ship. Ports in Indonesia is always crowded by various ship activities. Such vessels require fossil fuels as the material preparation to continue the journey. This has become a business opportunity for PT. Pelayaran Hub Maritim Indonesia as a company engaged in fuel distribution. The operational activities of PT. Pelayaran Hub Maritim Indonesia has made performance measurement yet of the financial aspects only. Therefore, this study aims to design a performance measurement system for companies based on four perspectives of the balanced scorecard is a financial perspective, a marketing perspective, internal business process perspective and learning and growth perspective. This study uses a qualitative method research approach to the type of research in the form of action research case study, the data used is primary data. Data from this study obtained by interviewing the informant is determined based on the balanced scorecard perspectives. Results of this research is a performance measurement system and the weighting of each of the key performance indicators with paired comparison method to get the level of importance of each strategic objective.
