Abstract

Abstract: Use of IMPROVE method to increase student?s ability in problem solving of the buffer, solubility and solubility product at class XI IPA 4 SMAN 1 Banjarmasin School Year 2012/2013. A study concerning the use of the IMPROVE in buffer, solubility and solubility product. This study aims to determine the increase in students' ability in problem solving, both cognitive achievement and metacognitive development. Study using action research design with 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects were students of class XI IPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 Banjarmasin with the number 34. Data were collected using a test problem-solving ability and other non-test instruments to determine the implementation of the action. Data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis and qualitative analysis. The results showed that the application of IMPROVE method can improve students' ability to solve the problems of the average 37.96 to 61.83 in the first cycle to the second cycle. Cognitive learning outcomes of students on average 54.74 to 93.79 in the first cycle to the second cycle. Metacognitive development of students hasincreased from category Still Very Risky (SVR) in the first cycle to Start Growing (SG) in the second cycle. An increase in activity of teachers in the implementation of the action category quite well in the first cycle to be good in the second cycle. Student activity increased in the first cycle of category good enough to be good on the second cycle. Student responses on the first and second cycle showed excellent criterion.Keywords: IMPROVE method, metacognitive, problem-solving ability

Abstract

Abstract: Cancer was one of health problems in the world. Medical treatments of cancer by operation, chemotherapy, and radiation were really good, but they have some effects. Now, people were interested in using of natural product as medicine. Red fruit (Pandanus conoideus Lamk.) have been extensively used to treat HIV/AIDS, diabetic mellitus, uric acid, osteoporosis and cancer. The scientific studies of anti cancer activity of red fruits on the growth of cancer are relatively very few. The objective of this research was to determine the variety of Red Fruit that have the high toxicity and to identify the bioactive compound that have a cytotoxic effect on breast cancer cell line (T47D). Three samples (Maler, Barugum, and Yanggiru) were collected from Sentani (Papua). The cell line used were T47D for breast cancer and cancer drug Doxorubicine was used as a standard on cytotoxicity assay. All samples were extracted using three solvents (chloroform, methanol, and water). Anti cancer activity on breast cancer cell line of those extracts were detected using MTT Assay to determine IC-50. The best extract (lowest IC-50) was fractionated, isolated, and identified its compound group. The value of extract IC-50 and toxic isolate were calculated by probit analysis. The results showed that methanol extract of Barugum has the highest cytotoxic effect to cell line T47D (IC-50 = 170,204 ?g/ml) followed by chloroform extract of Maler (IC-50 = 193,090 ?g/ml). But, the isolate of fraction of Maler chloroform extract had the highest cytotoxic effect (IC-50 = 32,453 ?g/ml), that is lower than Doxorubicine (49,194 ?g/ml) while the isolate of methanol extract of Barugum had IC-50 = 60,298 ?g/ml. The bioactive compound group that has anti-cancer activity were terpenoid saponin and other terpenoids. It could be concluded that the chloroform extract of Maler was potential to be developed as cancer medicine.Key Words: Red Fruit, cancer, T47D, cytotoxic, MTT Assay.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh media animasi flash materi konsep asam basa yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian pengembangan ini mengacu pada model pengembangan Hannafin dan Peck dengan prosedur penelitian yaitu (1) analisis kebutuhan, (2) desain (3) pengembangan/implementasi. Subjek uji coba pada penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa tingkat I  DIII Farmasi Stikes Pelamonia yang berjumlah 23 mahasiswa.  Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan angket, lembar wawancara, lembar validasi, lembar observasi, dan dokumentasi untuk mengetahui penilaian validator, dosen, dan mahasiswa  terhadap media, dan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan dalam pengembangan media. Media pembelajaran animasi flash materi konsep asam basa yang telah dikembangkan masuk pada kategori valid dengan rata-rata aspek 4,5, praktis dan efektif. Kepraktisan yangdinilai dari keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media masuk pada kategori terlaksana seluruhnya. Keefektifan diukur dari hasil belajar yang menunjukkan 82% dari 23 mahasiswa sudah tuntas, 96% mahasiswa  memberikan respon positif dan tanggapan guru terhadap media masuk kategori baik. Dari hasil kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan menunjukkan bahwa media layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

Abstract. Research on scientific literacy aimed to analysis XI IPA students? scientific literacy on ecosystem topic. This research carried out at SMA Negeri 3 Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara, from August ? September 2017. This research was used descriptive qualitative method. Sampling technique was used simple random sampling technique. There were 34 of students at XI IPA class that have learned ecosystem topic and they were the research sample. The instrument used to measure of students? scientific literacy was an essay questions and it consisted of 15 questions related to scientific literacy. Data was analyzed through an assessment interpretation formula. Overall, the result showed that 53% respondents has the scientific literacy in ?enough category?.Keywords: scientific literacy, ecosystem, students? scientific literacy ability

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar pada materi pokok hidrokarbon melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TTW (think talk write) bermuatan karakter di SMAN 6 Banjarmasin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa (kognitif) pada materi pokok hidrokarbon melalui model pembelajaran TTW bermuatan karakter, (2) apakah melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TTW bermuatan karakter dapat meningkatkan karakter siswa kelas X-4 SMAN 6 Banjarmasin, dan (3) mengetahui respon siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran TTW bermuatan karakter. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-4 SMAN 6 Banjarmasin yang berjumlah 31 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan siklus I terdiri atas tiga pertemuan dan pada siklus II terdiri dari satu pertemuan. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan evaluasi, serta analisis dan refleksi. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil tes kognitif, lembar penilaian afektif yang berupa hasil observasi terhadap dua karakter siswa yaitu teliti dan menghargai pendapat orang lain, hasil observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan hasil respon siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa : (1) model pembelajaran TTW bermuatan karakter dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok hidrokarbon. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar dari 64,52% pada siklus I menjadi 100% pada siklus II. Sedangkan ketuntasan rata-rata hasil belajar per indikator materi pokok hidrokarbon dari 66,4% pada siklus I menjadi 87,4% pada siklus II (2) model pembelajaran TTW bermuatan karakter dapat meningkatkan karakter siswa. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan adanya peningkatan karakter siswa dari 15,2 pada siklus I menjadi 17,5 pada siklus II (3) siswa menunjukan respon positif terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran TTW bermuatan karakter. Kata Kunci: Hasil belajar, Karakter, Think Talk Write, Hidrokarbon.

Abstract

The ability to carry out Classroom Action Research (CAR) or School Action Research (SAR) can be used to support the education and learning process in schools, because it make the teachers or principals as both researcher and user of research results. CAR is the research conducted by teacher in their class to improve their services to the students, entrusted to them, in developing their potency optimally by giving them the qualified learning. SAR is the the research conducted by principles in their school to improve their service to the community that gives credence by sending their son to the school. SAR will develope the profesionality of principals, teachers and all the the school staff in educational services providing. Principals may conduct SAR by encouraging teachers in inquiry process on how to make students learn, by establishing professional learning communities, through School-Based Lesson Study. Mean while, teachers may perform CAR by involving at least a friend as collaborator, by implementing CAR-based Lesson Study. Key words: CAR, SAR, Professional Development, Teachers, Principals

Abstract

Abstrak.Penggunaan media video pembelajaran yang bersifat visual sangat menunjuang proses pembelajaran sains siswa tunarungu terutama materi ekosistem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peningkatan penguasaan konsep ekosistem siswa tunarungu menggunakan media video pembelajaran ekosistem mangrove berbasis komtal. Penelitian ini mengunakan pre-eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian One grup, pre-test ? post-test design. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 6 orang siswa tunarungu SMPLB-B Dewi sartika, Sidoarjo. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini yaitu memberikan test kepada siswa sebelum pembelajaran/treatment (pre-test) dan setelah pembelajaran/treatment (post-test). Hasil rata-rata nilai pre-test penguasaan konsep ekosistem menunjukan 46.6 dan hasil nilai post-test penguasaan konsep ekosistem menjunjukan 85. Hasil pengujian Wilcoxon menunjukan Asymp.sig. (2-tailed) bernilai 0.027 lebih kecil  dari < 0.05 menunjukan adanya perbedaan hasil nilai penguasaan konsep pre-test dan nilai penguasaan konsep post-test, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh penerapan video pembelajaran ekosistem mangrove berbasis komtal untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep ekosistem siswa tunarungu. Penguasaan konsep ekosistem seperti komponen biotik, abiotik, dan pengertian ekosistem lebih mudah dipahami siswa dengan menggunakan media video ekosistem mangrove yang digunakan

Abstract

It has been conducting research about Implementation of inquiry guide approach in science integreted learning specially garbage management. There are three formulation of the issues raised in this study, namely: how the learning outcomes of students using the inquiry approach, how the activities of the students asked, answered, doing tasks and present their work and how student responses on learning using the concept of inquiry guided approach to waste management competencies. Research goals to improve student?s understanding of eleventh grade of SMKN 1 Tanjung at Waste Management using inquiri guided approach. The number of respondents is 36 students. Results showed that student learning outcomes in the first cycle has not yet reached the classical completeness which 58.3% (category less) increased to 91.70% (Good categories) in the second cycle, the results of student learning is very low with an average of 60.45 (category is less) on the first cycle and increased to 90.45 in the second cycle. management of learning activities performed by teachers also increased, in the first cycle of 3.51 to 3.84 in the second cycle. This learning get very positive response from eleventh grade of Marketing student, for all students (100%) states excited by learning about waste management by using inquiry guided approach.Key word : improve understanding, garbage, inquiry guided approach

Abstract

Abstract: A research on the application of the learning methods of problem solving in the colloidal material class XI Science SMAN 4 Banjarmasin. This study aims to determine (1) differences in critical thinking skills students learn to use problem solving methods with conventional learning, (2) a response to the problem solving method in class XI IPA. Methods This study used a pretest- posttest nonequivalent control group design. Research sample is class XI Science SMAN 4 Banjarmasin which consists of class XI IPA 3 as the experimental class and class XI Science 2 as the control class. Data collection techniques using critical thinking skills tests and questionnaires. Statistical analysis using t-test, test for normality and homogeneity tests. The results showed that (1) there is a difference between the critical thinking skills that students learn to use problem solving methods with students who learn using conventional learning methods, namely the experimental class and 74.8% in the control class is 70.41% (2) response to learning of problem solving methods are categorized both by 32.2%.Keywords: problem solving, critical thinking skills, colloidal

Abstract

Abstract. SMP Satu Atap Wasur is a boarding school located 49 km from the administrative center of Merauke regency. The school is also in protected Wasur National Park area. The student mostlyare indigenous?s Papua that residing around Wasur National Park. The inadequacy of school facilities is a challenge for chemistry and physics teachers in explaining abstract material. The existence of visual aids from Musamus University by program KKN PPM is very helpful for teacher in teaching and learning process. The purpose of this study is to know the effectiveness of using visual aids to chemistry and physics achievement. This study using comparative quantitative method with paired t test using SPSS application. The result showed that tcount<ttable (-59,144 <-2,04227) for chemistry subject and tcount<ttable (-41,327 <-2,04227) for physics subject. In conclusion, the use of visual aids effectively improve the learning result of chemistry and physics in the students of Class IX SMP Satu Atap Wasur Merauke.Keywords: achievement, chemistry, physics, visual aids
