Abstract

This study aimed to assess the increase of speed of the 400 m running obtained from a training of interval running of 800 m distance programmed  in three types of models and to find out which one of the three training models gave the greatest improvement of speed. The three models of training were interval sprint of 8 x 100 meters, 4 x 200 meters, and 2 x 400 meters, carried out in 4 sets, 3 times a week, for a 6 week duration. This study was an experimental study using the Randomized Pre and Post Test Group Design. The study subjects comprised 24 students of SMK Negeri 5 Denpasar, who were divided into 3 groups of 8 students each. Group 1 was assigned to 8 x 100 m run, group 2 to 4 x 200 m run, and group 3 to 2 x 400 m run training, respectively. The data were analyzed accordingly with the test of T-Paired, One-way Anova, and LSD. The result of the T-Paired test on each group before anf after training showed a significant mprovement of the running speed (p<0.05). Therefore, indicating an improvement of 400 m running speed was achieved in each group. The One-Way Anova test showed a significant difference was found among the three groups in the increase of running speed obtained after training (p<0.05). The LSD test showed there was a significant difference of the increase of running speed between Group 1 and 2, and between Group 1 and 3 (p<0.05). There was no significant difference of speed found between Group 2 and 3 (p>0.05). Therefore, the training of interval 8 x 100 meters run was more effective in increasing the running speed as compared with interval 4 x 200 meters and 2 x 400 meters run, respectively, among the students of SMK 5 Denpasar.

Abstract

Myofascia Trigger Point Syndrome (MTrPs) is trigger point muscle happens in musculoskeletal. Factors which strengthen and trigger the emerge of MTrPs are the muscle contraction which happens continuously, poor body position, wrong body position or movement, poor occupation activity and unsuitable workplace arrangement that affect the unergonomic work behavior. The objective of this reseacrh is to reveal the effectivity of  integrated neuromuscular  inhibition techniques (init ) and massage efflurage in decreasing pain and disability in myofasial trigger point of upper trapesius muscle. The subjects this research are 34 people which are taken randomly in Puskesmas 2 Kartosuro, Surakarta with 17 samples of each group. Group 1 is integrated neuromuscular inhibition techniques (init ) and group 2 is massage efflurage. The data used in this research is NDI scale taken before and after therapy. The data collected is processed by using differential test through computer base of SPSS 15.0 version. The data analysis by using paired sample t-test, in group 1 the data resulted before therapy is 48,35±6,68 and the data resulted after therapy is 25,94±5,87 with p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Whereas in group 2, the  resulted before therapy is 47,53±5,17 and the data resulted before therapy is 28,00±8,91 with p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). To conclude, based on the data resulted in this research, integrated neuromuscular  inhibition techniques (init ) and massage effleurage are there is no difference decrease pain and disability in myofascial trigger point of upper trapezius muscle.

Abstract

Human life expectancy is very dependent on the process of aging, and the aging process is not nature but is caused by several factors including: excessive activity (Wear and Tear Theory), hormonal (Neuroendocrinology Theory), genetic (The Genetic Control Theory), and free radicals (The Free Radical Theory). Understanding of the nature that is not appropriate is believed by many community groups and even linked to problems that impede true religion in society. A true old age group the number is gradually increasing and this means increasing life expectancy. Actually, life expectancy can be scientifically programmed with faith. The development of science and technology so advanced in many fields, including health sciences and many other disciplines that support positive impact for the control of the aging process that increases a person's life expectancy. Pattern of life is very important role determining the aging process. This is evidenced by the report that 64% of deaths are caused by unhealthy lifestyles. Setting lifestyle that includes sleeping patterns, eating, working, break, and recreation, especially in determining the age of a person. Excess work or excess physical activity and lack of sleep will shorten the lifespan because penuaannya process occurs faster than their healthy life. This situation will reduce levels of some hormones and increases free radicals which will accelerate the aging process. Based on various research reports that turns the aging process can be slowed by setting lifestyle that consists of several elements of the lifestyle patterns such as sleep, work, eat, exercise and recreation. It is recommended that all people a healthy lifestyle as early as possible since the kids up for life.

Abstract

A research to increase the speed of the left-right straight punch with the two types of training ie training hit 25 times faster and 25 times slower eight reps (training-A) and the training to hit 50 times faster and 50 times slower four reps (training-B) was conducted a six-week training in Denpasar Hall of SMK-5 starting at 16:00 until 17:30 pm. Samples of each group of nine people picked at random simple from the students SMKN Denpasar. Each group is given different treatment groups are given training-1-A and group-2-B are given training. Data speed of punches taken before and after training. Data were tested by paired t-test to determine the difference between the mean velocity blows before and after training in each group and unpaired t-test to determine the average velocity difference between the two groups of stroke. Limit of significance used was 0.05 (p <0.05). Different rates of speed blows before and after training in group-1 is 60.22 X / mt, which showed a significant difference p = 0.000 and in group-2 is p = 47.22 X / mt, which also showed a significant difference in the p = 0.000. Punch speed after training between groups showed a significant difference, namely p = 0.000. So that the training-A and-B training can increase the speed of a punch. Training-A better than training-B in increasing the speed of the left-right straight punch. For it is expected that the trainers who train speed left-right straight punch to apply the training to hit 25 times faster and 25 times slower three sets of eight reps in training.

Abstract

Sports pool in Indonesia are well known to the public, which is reduced when driving (after the end of the recovery to begin hand pull another hand), the breaststroke is the style of the most interesting because it does not quickly tiring when compared with other styles, because the process of respiration take place with ease, making them easier use in long-distance swim, at the start to affect the pace to continue this next movement needs to get training and a variety of training models, especially at students aged 10-12 years. Training pool 8 times 25 times 50 meters and 4 meters is one of the training methods that can speed up travel time. The best training model has not been encountered in the data. So do the research to find a model training 25 meter pool 8 times and 4 times 4 sets of 50 meters. The study was conducted with pretest-postes group design. Samples taken from the novice swimmer Toya Ening on Dalung Badung, as many as 26 people were randomly selected simple. Samples were divided into 2 groups each group totaled 13 people. Both groups were equally give training in the first group to pool 8 by 25 feet 4 sets, and 4 times the second group of 4 sets of 50 meters. 0.05 ab. Differences in results were analyzed statistically with  The data analyzed were age, height, weight, leg length and physical fitness.  13.49 seconds.± 107.69, and 126.38 ±The mean test results of the final 100 meter breaststroke swimming in a row 12.14 seconds  F count the results obtained respectively by 0.95 seconds with p = 0.59 and 0.93 seconds with a value of p = 0.34. Data showed significant differences significant (p> 0.05). These results indicate that the training of swimming the breaststroke 8 by 25 feet 4 sets is better than 4 times in 4 sets of 50 meter speed up travel time 100-meter breaststroke swimming novice men (p <0.05). Suggested the use of breaststroke swimming training method 8 by 25 feet 4 sets to be intensified to provide training pool at 100 meters breaststroke to speed up travel time.

Abstract

Quality of life is an individual state within the scope of capabilities, limitations, symptoms, and psychosocial natures to function in the desired range of roles in society and feel satisfied with that role. Quality of life of COPD patient’s considered very important because it relates directly to the symptoms experienced. In COPD patients increased work causes shortness of breath so that the patients had decreased quality of life. There  has been indication that endurance exercise and breathing exercise improve quality of life in COPD patient. This study was aimed at testing endurance exercise in improving the quality of life of COPD patients. The study is a quasi experiment with pre-test and post-test control group design. The experiment was conducted in BP4 Yogyakarta. The number of samples was 22 patients with COPD who experienced of reducing quality of life. Quality of life in COPD patients measured by SGRQ questionnaires. The number of study subjects were then grouped at random into two groups. Control group one was given diaphragmatic breathing exercise and pursed lip breathing three times a week. Treatment group two was given endurance exercise three times a week. The study was conducted for 12 weeks. SGRQ total value of the data was measured before and after treatment. All data in the analysis using SPSS version 16. Data are destributed normal and homogen, a decrease in the total SGRQ meaningful on breathing exercises and endurance training with a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). This means that breathing exercises and endurance exercises at same time can significantly improve the quality of life. The mean total SGRQ values ??after treatment in group one and group two significantly different, where the value of p <0.05, namely p = 0.000, a decrease of group two’s SGRQ total value greater than group one. This means that endurance exercise improves quality of life better than breathing exercises in COPD patients in BP4 Yogyakarta. It is expected to use endurance exercises in patients with COPD who experience mental decline in quality of life.

Abstract

Has done research on students' Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Negeri-5 Denpasar. This research is connected between the body height (BH), body weight (BW), body mass index (BMI), and age on the resting pulse rate changes. The study was conducted in Cross Sectional Analytic in September 2011 on the class I and II SMK Negeri-5 Denpasar. The selection of a random sample of the group (cluster random sampling) with a simple random draw of the eight classes as a cluster to get the three classes. Of the three classes of 33 students chosen as men who do not have physical abnormalities and are willing as a research subject. Measurements for body height, body weight, body mass index, age, and the resting pulse rate was conducted in o'clock in the afternoon at 5:00 to 19:00 pm at GOR Ngurah Rai Denpasar. Data were analyzed by correlation of Pearson (Pearson Correlation) at the 0.05 significance level. From the analysis found no association between IMT with the resting pulse rate with r = 0.540 and p = 0.001, between the ages of the resting pulse rate with r = 0.460 and p = 0.007 (p ? 0.05) and there is no relationship between body weight and body height with the resting pulse rate with a value of r and p respectively, r = - 0.146 with p = 0.417 and r = 0.190 with p = 0.290 (p > 0.05). Thus, the resting pulse rate is directly influenced by age and BMI with positive correlation.
