The objective of the research is to determine and to analyze the affect of supplier communication towards customer firm cost in manufacturer. Data collected from 200 buying organizations / manufacturers in Jakarta. For analyzing data, the research uses Structural Equation Modeling, statistical technic which enable test between one or several dependent varibles as well as one or several independent variables. The results indicate that: (1) the more often supplier communicate directly (face to face) or communicate in writing with buying company the lower acquisition cost and operational cost for the buying company, (2) it is determined that supplier's sales force is a skilled person who has the ability to explain the product sold thus the buying company has a complete understanding of the product and later will affect the selling process, acquisition cost as well as operational cost for the buying company.

Abstract

Perception has an important role in determining consumer decision making.  What consumers want to buy is often infucenced by the perception that he or she has about a particular product brand.  So does in the lubricant industries, especially four-engine motorcycle lubricant.  In this industry, where the competition is very high, each company must use their strategy effectively.  One of those strategies is positioning- the act designing of the company offering and image to occupy a distinctive place in the mind of the target market (Kotler, 2000).  The main purpose of this study is to identify the positioning of Mesran among its five competitors (Top One, Castrol, Shell, Pennzoil, and Agip) based on consumer perception, specifically a student of University of Indonesia.  There are also three major purposes of this study: First, to identify the behavior of four-engine motorcycle lubricant consumers.  Second, to identify the crucial attribute of four-engine motorcycle lubricant.  Third, to identify the positioning of Mesran based on consumer perception.  The tools of the analysis of this study are the Attribute Rating (AR) Perceptual Map that can give us a picture of consumer perception about product attributes.  These studies also use analysis tools such as Factor analysis and analysis of mean score

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to predict Indonesias inflation rate in 2009 by employing BOX-JENKINS (ARIMA) model. The prediction of inflation rate is very important since the inflation affects us in economy aspect. Moreover, by knowing the approximate inflation in the future will help companies to plan the operational cost better. It also will help the government to anticipate the predicted inflation by making good policies, thus the prosperity of Indonesia people will be achieved. AR (2) is the best ARIMA model that we obtain. By employing AR (2), we predict the inflation rate in 2009 is 10.48%. This number is not surprising since inflation rate in Indonesia is mainly affected by exchange rate. As we know that the global crisis will start recovering in early 2010 (Yearly Bank Indonesia Report, 2008). The impact is that exchange rate pressure will be still high in 2009, it is due to non-optimal export and limited foreign funds inflow.
