Abstract

MDH water apple is one type of fruit plant that can be cultivated intabulampot. Facts in the field indicate that planting it in tabulampotmakes the plant bear fruit faster. Another factor that determines theproduction of MDH guava is fertilization, including fertilizing withorganic matter. Besides giving organic fertilizer, the right time whenapplying fertilizer is also important in determining the growth of MDHguava. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the timeof manure on the vegetative growth of MDH guava. This research wasconducted in the green house in March to August 2018. This study useda randomized block design with 9 repetitions and 3 treatments, namely:(1) fertilization at the beginning of planting, (2) fertilization in the 1stand 3rd month after planting, and (3) fertilization in the 1st and 5thmonths after planting. Data were analyzed using ANOVA test. Theresults of this study indicate that manure has a significant effect on thenumber of leaf parameters, but does not significantly affect plantheight, number of primary branches, and number of secondarybranches. The best growth results were obtained at two time offertilizing in MDH water apple. Keyword : MDH water apple, manure, tabulampot, time of fertilizing.

Abstract

Weeds is crops that can compete, disturb and reduce total of rice plants production. The purpose of this research was to determine the important value index of weeds on rice plants. Research method is used vegetative analysis with square method, vegetative and generative phase. Parameters that are observed were Density (K), Relative Density (KR), Frequency (F), Relative Frequency (FR), Important value Index (IVI). Result of the research showed that type of weed in rice plants vegetative phase were had highest score consecutively are Fimbristylis miliacea (L) Vahl.58.26; Hydrolea spinosa L. 39.57:Sphenoclea zeylanica Gaertn 39.40;. While, type of weeds in generative phase results are Leptochloa chinensis (L) Ness 60.88; Fimbristilis milaceae (L) Vahl 56.82; Cyperus iria L. 38.65.  In based on the important value of weed of environmental friendly control includes pre-planting land processing, floading of several days in the vegetative phase and weeding.

Abstract

Compatibility Metarhizium anisopliae (Metschn.) Sorokin with entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema sp. Metarhizium anisopliae (Metschn.) Sorokin and entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema sp. can be used as biological control of insect pests. The objective of this research was to identify compatibility between fungus M. anisopliae with entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema sp. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and repeated 5 times. The treatment used was M. anisopliae isolates Jombang 1 with Steinernema sp. (M1), M. anisopliae Jombang 2 with Steinernema sp. (M2), M. anisopliae isolates Kediri with Steinernema sp. (M3), M. anisopliae isolates Bondowoso with Steinernema sp. (M4), and M. anisopliae isolates Banyuwangi with Steinernema sp. (M5). Based on this research result, compatibility between the fungus M. anisopliae with entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema sp. was antagonistic. This occurs due to the symbiotic bacteria Xenorhabdus sp. that produced compounds antimycotic and capable to inhibit the growth of fungus M. anisopliae.

Abstract

The golden Apple Snail is one of the rice pest that damaging by shredding the leaves of young plant. The common control has some negative impacts on the environment, so that the application of phyto-moluscides becomes a solution forming environmentally friendly agriculture. Neem and areca nut are one of the raw materials that can be used to control golden apple snails. This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of neem and areca leaf extracts so the result of the study can be information and recomendations for controlling golden apple snail. This study uses a factorial Completely Randomized Design method, the first factor is extract raw material consisting of neem leaf, areca nut, and combination, while the second factor is consentration 0.25 g/L, 0.50 g/L, 0.75 g/L and control, each treatment gets 3 replications. Extract was applied by direct aplication method. Observations are carried out every 12 hours for 96 hours after aplication. The observed variable is behavior change, inhibition of eating activity and golden snail mortality. Data was analyzed by ANOVA then continued whit Duncan’s advanced test. Based on the result on the parameters that have been tested, raw materials and concentration have the effect of changing behavior from the start of the aplication, inhibition of eating activity, even an increase in mortality of up to 100% in the treatment of areca extract and combination application.

Abstract

Kendala yang dihadapi oleh Kelompok Tani Jaya II adalah pada bidang budidaya tanaman serta sediaan input organik. Tujuan dilakukan pengabdian ini adalah untuk membantu Kelompok Tani Jaya II dalam mengembangkan pertanian organik dan memproduksi input organik berupa pupuk organik cair dan pestisida organik. Pengabdian ini dilakukan di Desa Rowosari, Kecamatan Sumberjambe, Kabupaten Jember pada 13 Maret-31 Agustus 2019. Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan terdiri dari dua tahapan yaitu 1) pelatihan budidaya organik melalui focus group discussion (FGD), 2) pendampingan produksi pupuk organik cair dan pestisida organik. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang diperoleh adalah petani mampu memahami budidaya secara organik mulai dari on farm hingga off farm. Petani telah mampu memproduksi pupuk organik cair dan pestisida organik masing-masing dengan volume 250 liter pada tahap 1. Selain itu petani mengetahui teknik aplikasi yang benar sesuai SNI 6729-2016. Harapan dari anggota Kelompok Tani Jaya II ke depan adalah untuk menambah produk organik yang lain yaitu hortikultura organik dan kopi organik.

Abstract

Pengembangan usaha pertanian organik membutuhkan konsistensi dan upaya terpadu dalam mencapai keberlanjutan usaha tani. Kelompok Tani Jaya II telah memiliki sertifikat organik pada komoditas pangan yaitu padi. Beras organik yang dihasilkan terdiri dari beras putih, merah, dan hitam. Dalam usaha meningkatkan pendapatan usaha tani, Kelompok Tani Jaya II juga memiliki komoditas kopi unggulan. Budidaya tanaman kopi selama ini telah mengikuti syarat pertanian organik sesuai SNI 6729:2016. Sehingga tujuan dari pengabdian adalah untuk mendampingi Kelompok Tani Jaya II dalam melengkapi dokumen yang dibutuhkan untuk sertifikasi kopi organik. Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan FGD dan aksesi lapang terkait dokumen pendukung yang dibutuhkan. Usaha ini merupakan upaya dalam meningkatkan nilai tambah petani untuk meningkatkan kualitas kopi oleh Kelompok Tani Jaya II. Label organik pada produk kopi yang diusulkan akan menjadi produk unggulan kopi organik di Desa Rowosari. Pada akhirnya Desa Rowosari akan menjadi desa wisata organik yang dapat menjadi objek kawasan eduekowisata bagi berbagai kalangan yang mengunjungi sehingga mendatangkan pendapatan bagi masyarakat.
