Abstract

Lack of source needs experts in aviation in Indonesia, especially in Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau becoming a problem in the world of transportation. Provision of aviation facilities must be supported by a reliable human resources and competent in their fields. Flight school to become a facility to produce reliable human resources and competently, especially in the field of aviation in particular Department of the Pilot. In the design of aviation high school needs to be seen applying the concepts and themes. So the design approach will use the architecture of a Tangible Metaphor will apply the shapes of Dragonfly, so people can identify the function of building just by looking at the physical appearance of the building and generate a more modern formations. Produce a more expressive architecture by trying to move the information from the subject to the building. Abstract

Insit Fishermen Area is a fisherman settlement area that is less organized and has no tourist attraction. Whereas Insit Fishermen Area is an entrance gate to Meranti island through Ro-Roport. Therefore, it is necessary to arrange the area of fishermen by adding more facilities and infrastructure, not only to support the activities of fishermen but also for tourist attraction. This arrangement also looks for the feasibility standard of facilities, infrastructure, and the dominantaspects of waterfront architecture and its elements. The design method used is the results of the survey, documentation, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. The results of thisarrangement applying the concept of “Insit With The Flow”. The arrangement of the area follows the flow of the Insit tributary, which is the result of the applying elements of the concept and waterfront architecture theme. This arrangement utilizes the river as a circulation in and out of fishing boats, and on the riverside, there is a Promenade/Esplanade, seats, and parks. Abstract

Siak Regency is located in Riau Province and is included in the Riau tourism development area and seeks to develop tourism by increasing events and tourist attractions that can be visited by the publicor tourists. Tourists are always closely related to culinary to taste food and drinks typical of tourist destinations. Currently, culinary places in Siak have not been realized properly because they do notmeet architectural standards. In addition Siak tourism also presents cultural and historical tourism experiences in the form of Malay Siak houses and efforts are needed to introduce them to tourists. Soit takes a container and renewal in the form of a culinary tourism center design in Siak with the theme of neo vernacular architecture. The research methods used include field data collection, literaturestudies and empirical studies. The results of this study are in the form of a culinary tourism center design by applying the concept of court based on the functions and themes of the building. Theconcept of building applied to the building is the way the building's mass order and the oblique shape on the outside of the building's side, while the application of the theme is taken the most prominentcharacteristic part of the Siak Malay house. Abstract

Music Center in Pekanbaru is a center that accommodates all activities in the field of music, especially modern music and traditional Malay music. The existence of Music Center in Pekanbaru is supported by high public interest in the art of music, this is reinforced by theexistence of several music schools and the many parents who direct their children to attend music lessons or music schools to hone their children's talents from an early age, in addition to frequent holding music concerts with high public enthusiasm for the concert. Music Centerhas the main function as a forum in educational, commercial and recreational activities for visitors, and in social activities as a meeting place for those who are already proficient inmusic with those who will learn about music. This method uses the Expressionist Architecture Approach which creates a building that expresses an emotion and can be felt by people whosee it, so that it not only provides facilities that can enrich one's expression, but also illustrates expressions in terms of architecture that creates a building that looks like a work of art. Expressionist architecture expressed the expression through the three physical elements of the building, namely facade, interior, floor plan and building mass. Through the concept Flow of Melody the building expresses music that is universal in nature with the flow that flows through the melody, so that not only as the main function of musical expressioncan also be seen through the architecture of the building.keywords : Pekanbaru, Music Center, Expressionist Architecture

Abstract

Riau University has many student organizations. But there is no adequate facility and place to do some student activities. Therefore, it is required a place to do those activities which is called Student Center. Student Center can be a place to develop their interest, aspiration and creativity. Besides, it can facilitate them in doing some student activities. This building applies tropical architecture approach by Georg Lippsmeier. The principles of this approach are in the form of the building orientation, the ventilation, the use of sun protection, the vegetation and the roof shape. It also applies the concept of dynamic activity. It takes the students’ character who always active, enthusiasm and energetic in the organizational activity. This concept is applied to the architectural aspect by applying dynamic principles, namely: transformation, starting and ending point, direction and flow.Keywords: Student Center, Tropical Architecture, Dynamic Activity

Abstract

The development and achievement of Taekwondo from Riau province on the National level in 2013 began to move forward rapidly and also the rise of Riau's position to the 4th rankin the National level had made Taekwondo of Riau province began to be noticed by the Taekwondo Big Executive Board of Indonesia (PBTI). It is necessary to support various facilities that can accommodate all activities of Taekwondo to get better performance. Due to the lack of coordinating institution that facilitate Taekwondo activities starting from thelodging, the field and most important thing is the place to do the exercises. The approach of the design will use Tangible Metaphor Architecture which will apply Taekwondo shape andcharacter, so that people can recognize the function of the building just by looking at the physical appearance of the building and produce a more modern formation. The purpose is toproduce a more expressive architecture by trying to move information from a subject to a building. Abstract

Traditional music in Malay tradition is used as a means or media of ceremonial cultural ceremonies (ritual), accompaniment dance, media entertainment, media communication, media self-expression. Rokan Hulu has a variety of traditional percussion music in the form of Gondang, Oguong, Gong, Calompong, Gambus. As time goes by, the community's interest in traditional music art is very low, especially for the younger generation and the absence of a container to study and preserve traditional percussion music. Therefore, this study aims to design a percussion music art Center for the development and preservation of percussion music potential to be able to improve the public knowledge about traditional percussion music. The selection of Rokan Hulu Regency is a central location for traditional percussion music because it has good potential, strategic location, the art heritage of music. The method used in this design is to use the Neo-vernacular architecture approach by applying the principles and design ideas that exist in the architectural characteristics of Rokan IV Koto with the addition of modern elements inside . The concept used is the concept of the Untaian Borogong transformation, which is expected to unite between architecture and music art. Abstract

Coworking Space is a place where start-ups work along side each other in flexible environtment, which desks are available to rent on daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. The space is in thesame line with Ludwig Mies van der Rohe design principle in function efficiency and simplicity of form. Through the design principle, concept of this coworking space design is Share Through The Glass, which is defined as interaction between outer and inner of building with glass wall. This is based on coworking space characters, such as collaboration, community, sustainability, openness, and accessibility. The concept is applied on zoning, mass order, massing, and facade. Zoning, mass order, and massing are based on Ludwig Mies van der Rohe design principle in simple geometric pattern. Abstract

Swimming training center is a place related with water sports activities such as competitions and training for athletes and beginner swimmers. The number of people who are interested in swimming is various from children to adults who can get a very positive effect because water sports will provide bodily health and also will be able to increase the number of swimming athletes for a competition in each area, but a complete swimming pool facilities are not yet available in Bintan. Designing a swimming training center that aims to increase the enthusiasm of learning and swimming training for the people in Bintan, both athletes and beginner swimmers. Swimming Training Center Facilities uses the Expressionist Architecture approach that aimed at people who see the building can recognize the function of the building. In the application of this design concept is the inequality that can be seen from four different swimming style techniques, namely breaststroke, freestyle, backstroke and butterfly style. The breaststroke technique is applied on the support buildings, while the freestyle and the backstroke are applied to the main building, and the butterfly style technique is applied to the roof of the main building. . The aim of this concept is to build the enthusiasm of athletes to be more motivated so they can also give more enthusiasm in any competition.Keywords: Swimming Training, Expressionist Architecture, Bintan
