Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of tube current on noise and low contrast resolution in CT scan images. Determination of the noise and the low contrast resolution was carried out using the built-in phantom of CT scan. To determine the noise, a phantom section consisting of homogeneous water (water filled phantom) was used, and to determine the low contrast resolution, a phantom section consisting of a polystyrene box was used. The images were taken in an axial mode, using a voltage of 120 kVp, rotation time of 2 seconds, beam collimation of 10x2.5 mm, and slice thickness of 7 mm. The tube current was varied from 80 mA to 200 mA. At each scanning, 3 (three) slices were taken. The results show that an increase of the tube current from 80 mA to 200 mA causes a decrease in THE noise, but does not affect TO the low contrast resolution. At the same low contrast resolution, an increase of the noise decreases object detectability.Keywords: tube current, image noise, low contras resolution, axial scanning, CT scan

Abstract

Treatment Planning System (TPS) is very necessary in radiotherapy planning to give the accurate radiation dose given to the patient.  In the TPS, 2D isodose curve is used to determine thedose distribution with the same rate at a certain distance from the radiation source.  The isodosecurve is obtained from the Percentage Depth Dose (PDD) and dose profile.  Measurement data ofPDD and dose profiles obtained from Kensaras Hospital in Semarang.  The PDD and dose profiledata were obtained from testing the water phantom for soft tissues such as muscles or other bodytissues.  Dose profile curve which is used  is at a various depth, such as: 1.5 cm, 5 cm, 10 cm, 15cm, 20 cm and 25 cm with an area of 5 x 5 cm2field, 10 x 10 cm2, 15 x 15 cm2, 20 x 20 cm, 30 x 30cm2 and 40 x 40 cm2.  At each depth of curve profile, the dose at the surface is calculated  andnormalized using  interpolation and normalized by narrowing techniques. 2D isodose curveobtained from the weighting technique to the calculation of the dose profile curve. In the field sizeof 5 x 5 cm2 and 10 x 10 cm2, isodose curve formed better in the absence of horn at the edge of thecurve.  In the field size larger than 10 x 10 cm2 there are horns on the edge of the curve at thelower depths.Keywords : Treatment Planning System (TPS),  2D Isodose curve, Percentage Depth Dose (PDD),Dose profile.

Abstract

Improvement the image quality of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) carried out bycontrast media has been done. It was expected to obtain a better image quality so thatinterpretation of MRI images more valid. Contrast media were used gadolinium 5 mmol/10 ml perpatient. Number of patients 10 people with tumor of the head, and each uses a 6 slices. MRI usedAIRIS II with 0.3 Tesla magnetic field, Kodak Dry View 8900, densitometry, and Film. In thisstudy, the image resulted with and without contrast media were measured its density andcompared. It was resulted that the image density in normal  tissues no change, with and withoutcontrast media. While the tumor area with and without contrast media, the density decreased byan average of 0,56. The addition of contrast media, the presence of tumor will appear moreclearly.Keywords: Contrast Media, gadolinium, MRI

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang bagaimana komunikasi keluarga TKI dalam mendidik anak (Studi Kasus di Desa Pakes Kecamatan Konang Kabupaten Bangkalan). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif.Hasil ini ditemukan bahwa (1) komunikasi yang terjadi di antara orang tua TKI dengan anaknya kurang berjalan dengan baik, dalam melakukan komunikasi dengan anaknya, orang tua TKI menggunakan sebuah perantara media handphone, orang tua TKI menghubungi anaknya disaat sudah mulai merasa rindu pada anaknya. (2) dalam mendidik anak orang t ua TKI memotivasinya melewati telepon dan memasrahkan masalah pendidikan sekolah kepada kakek dan neneknya. (3) perilaku komunikasi anak cenderung bersikap pendiam. (4) komunikasi keluarga TKI dengan anaknya berlangsung secara interpersonal.

Abstract

M-Learning merupakan pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan teknologi mobile sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan M-Learning berbasis android sebagai media pembelajaran dengan materi akuntansi kas kecil dan mengetahui kelayakan dari media tersebut. Prosedur penelitian yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan ADDIE. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kriteria “Sangat Layak” dan dengan respon siswa “Sangat Baik”. Abstract

Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi pemanfatan kantong semen dalam proses pembuatan produk tas oleh UKM Viora Tanggulangin Sidoarjo dalam meningkatkan nilai jual melalui inovasi desain dan konsep yang kreatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen desain dengan mengidentifikasi karakteristik kantong semen serta mengkombinasikan dengan material lainnya yaitu kayu yang dibentuk dan dipola dengan teknik laser potong dan grafir. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kantong semen dan kayu dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai produk tas yang kreatif dan inovatif sehingga menjadi produk tas unik yang ramah lingkungan melalui teknik lapisan. Hasil lebih lanjut menunjukkan bahwa kayu dapat ditekuk dengan teknik tertentu dan menjadi kombinasi yang cocok dengan kantong semen. Eksperimen lanjutan perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dan seperti apa perlakuan terhadap kantong semen agar menjadi material yang berpotensi tidak hanya menjadi produk tas akan tetapi menjadi produk fashion lainnya yang memiliki nilai jual yang tinggi  Kata Kunci : Pemanfaatan, Kantong Semen, Produk Tas  ABSTRACTThis research is held to identify usability value of cement sack in process to produce bags and to identify problems that UKM Viora Tanggulangin , Sidoarjo has to face in order to increase selling value through design innovation and creative concept. This research used experiment design method which is identifying character of cement sack and combine it with wood that formed and pattern made with laser cutting and engraving technique. The results from this research shows that cement sack and wood can be used into bag products so it can become environmentally friendly unique bags through finishing coating. Further research shows that wood which usually has hard characteristic could be bend with certain technique and become suitable material that can be combined with cement sack. Further experiment needs to be done in order to finds out how and what treatments toward cement sack to be stronger material that have potential not only to become bag but also another high valued fashion products. Abstract

An analysis of functional groups using FTIR (Fourier Transform Infra Red) spectroscopy in test samples, such as petroleum and spiritus compound has been done.The spectral of the functional groups is observed by comparing of the absorption band which is formed on infra red spectrum with the infra red lines standard and comparing with other known compound. It is expected that functional group identification can be done effectively.Infra red spectrums of petroleum show the group of methyl (CH3), alkenes and aromatic compound. That results analysis is supported by appearance of bending symmetric vibration of C-H and the presence of stretching vibration of C=C from aromatic ring. The spiritus spectrums show the group of hydroxyl from alcohol compound. That analysis is supported by appearance of wide band on 3500–3000 cm-1 and appearance of band on 1000–1100 cm-1.  While test sample spectrum show the group of hidroksil (O-H) from primary alcohol, group of metil (CH3), triple bond (C≡C–H), group of nitril (R–C≡N), double bond (C=C) and C-N.   Keyword: FTIR spectroscopy, vibration, infra red spectrum, absorption, functional group

Abstract

X-ray spectra produced by Elekta Linac for 6 MV beam  have been evaluated using Monte Carlo simulation. In this simulation, Linac head was modeled using BEAMnrc code. X-ray sepctra, fluence vs position, and energy fluence vs position were determined using BEAMDP code. In this simulation, the SSD (source skin distance) was 90 cm and the field size of radiation was 10 x 10 cm2. Energy electrons arriving at the target (incident electron) was varied 5.7 MeV, 6.0 MeV, 6.3 MeV and 6.6 MeV. As for the radial intensity, FWHM values ​​varied 1.0 mm, namely 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm. X-ray spectra were determined at the surface of the phantom. Iit was found that the curve 6 MV X-ray spectra has a shape not symmetry with an average energy of about 2 MeV. In the spectra there is no energy X-ray radiation value exceeds the kinetic energy of incident electrons. X-ray spectra is not affected by the width of electron beam striking on the target. if the electron energy increases, it will generate increased fluence and energy fluence, but no effect on the penumbra region (the edge of field size). If the electron beam width increases, it will result in the radiation field edge becomes less sharp or penumbra widening. Keywords — Monte Carlo Simulation, X-ray spectra, Linear Accelerator

Abstract

Treatment Planning System (TPS) are used to determine the dosedistribution to be received before the irradiation in patients. To see how much radiation dose to be received on the target volume and surrounding critical organs that are required isodose curve. 2D isodose curves correction on non-homogeneous tissues done because in fact the human body not only in the form of soft tissue, but there are also other tissues such as bone tissue or lung. Isodose curve correction have been made using Tissue Air Ratio (TAR) method with Matlab software on a wide field of 10 x 10 cm2. Correction factor is obtained by comparing the effective depth of the TAR with TAR at each depth. Correction factor multiplied by the curve isodose for homogeneous phantom have been obtained from Percentage Depth Dose (PDD) and dose profiles. Corrected isodose curves obtained for nonhomogeneous phantom.
