Abstract

RARE PLANT LITERACY FOR BIOLOGICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS AS A RESULT OF THE TASK OF MINI RESEARCH AbstractIndonesia is known as one of the mega biodiversity countries, but ironically biodiversity in Indonesia has actually decreased, so that there are around 240 species of plants already included in the list of endangered plants. Therefore a movement is needed to educate the academic community, in this case Biology Education students through lecture assignments about endangered plant literacy.  Thus the problem in this study is how the literacy of endangered plants of Biology Education students as a result of mini research in plant biology lectures. This research is a descriptive research. The research instruments included a mini research assessment sheet, which included aspects of the accuracy of determining plant species which included endangered categories, descriptions of morphology, classification and benefits of these plants. Biology Education students are assigned to survey, inventory and observe endangered plants in West Java. Overall endangered plant literacy of Biology Education students is good, but the aspect that is still lacking is in determining plant species in endangered categories. One of the plants found in Sukabumi area is Cynometra cauliflora including vulnerable plants. Need to develop assignments and assessments to assess endangered plant literacy of students to be more comprehensive. AbstrakIndonesia dikenal sebagai salah satu negara mega biodiversitas tetapi ironisnya  keanekaragaman hayati di Indonesia justeru  mengalami penurunan, sehingga  ada sekitar  240 jenis tumbuhan sudah masuk dalam daftar tumbuhan langka. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan suatu gerakan untuk mengedukasi masyarakat akademis, dalam hal ini mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi melalui tugas perkuliahan tentang literasi tumbuhan langka.  Dengan demikian masalah yang diangkat pada penelitian ini adalah bagaimana literasi tumbuhan langka mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi  sebagai hasil tugas mini riset perkuliahan biologi tumbuhan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar penilaian  mini riset, yang meliputi aspek ketepatan penentuan spesies tumbuhan yang termasuk kategori langka,  deskripsi morfologi, klasifikasi dan  manfaat tumbuhan tersebut. Mahasiswa  Pendidikan Biologi  ditugaskan untuk mensurvey, menginventarisasi dan mengobservasi tumbuhan langka yang berada di daerah Jawa Barat. Secara keseluruhan literasi tumbuhan langka mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi termasuk baik, tetapi aspek yang masih kurang sekali adalah pada penentuan spesies tumbuhan dalam kategori langka. Salah satu tumbuhan yang ditemukan di daerah Sukabumi adalah  Cynometra cauliflora termasuk tumbuhan berstatus rawan. Perlu pengembangan penugasan dan asesmennya  untuk menilai literasi tumbuhan langka mahasiswa agar  lebih komprehensif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kemunculan unsur somatik, auditori, visual, dan intelektual dalam pembelajaran guided inquiry. Objek penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi kelas VIII yang mempelajari topik fotosintesis khususnya materi faktor cahaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif, proses pembelajaran direkam mulai dari kegiatan pembuka sampai penutup tanpa terputus-putus. Data yang dihasilkan berupa kemunculan-kemunculan unsur-unsur SAVI selama pembelajaran diperoleh melalui proses pengodean dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak videograph. Pengodean dilakukan berdasarkan lembar observasi yang berisi indikator-indikator setiap unsur SAVI. Hasil pengodean diolah dengan menggunakan program SPSS 16, output memperlihatkan unsur-unsur SAVI yang dianalisis selama pembelajaran beserta frekuensi kemunculannya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada setiap tahapan pembelajaran guided inquiry hampir semua unsur SAVI muncul. Tahap pelaksanaan percobaan merupakan puncak kemunculan unsur-unsur SAVI. Unsur somatik muncul dengan persentase 37,05%; unsur auditori muncul dengan persentase 7,8%; dan unsur visual muncul dengan persentase 13,65%; sedangkan unsur intelektual muncul paling banyak pada tahap undangan inkuiri dengan persentase 6,67%. Pembelajaran guided inquiry yang merupakan pembelajaran aktif ini dapat menunjang proses belajar berdasar aktivitas karena dapat melibatkan indra sebanyak mungkin dan kecerdasan intelektual secara bersamaan. Hal ini membuat kegiatan belajar lebih bermakna dan optimal.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi siswa dengan analisis menggambar. Tiga puluh empat siswa di kelas 8 di sekolah menengah pertama digunakan sebagai subyek dalam penelitian ini. Teknik sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data yang diperlukan untuk penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, menggambar analisis rubrik, dan wawancara. Identifikasi Kesalahpahaman ditentukan dengan menggambar siswa berdasarkan menggambar kriteria klasifikasi oleh Kose (2008). Siswa diperintahkan untuk menarik tentang konsep fotosintesis setelah proses pembelajaran. Gambar siswa dianalisis dengan rubrik dan setelah itu mereka diwawancarai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak semua tingkat kriteria menggambar dari tingkat 1 sampai 5 diidentifikasi. Dari hasil analisa, gambar paling banyak ditemukan adalah pada tingkat 4. Gambar pada tingkat 4 dikategorikan sebagai gambar lengkap konsep fotosintesis dan tidak ada kesalahpahaman ditemukan. Berdasarkan gambar mereka, ada siswa 2,9% diidentifikasi yang diselenggarakan kesalahpahaman. Ada perbedaan jumlah siswa yang diadakan kesalahpahaman antara gambar hasil analisis dan hasil wawancara. Dari hasil wawancara, ada siswa 35,2% dimiliki kesalahpahaman, lebih dari menggambar hasil analisis. Ini berarti bahwa identifikasi kesalahpahaman melalui analisis gambar tidak efektif. Kesalahpahaman siswa yang paling sering terjadi pada konsep fotosintesis adalah tempat berlangsungnya fotosintesis. Faktor yang membuat kesalahpahaman siswa yaitu karena siswa itu sendiri dan lingkungannya.Kata Kunci: fotosintesis, kesalahpahaman, konsep, menggambar analisis

Abstract

The initial conditions of learning the practice of plant anatomy at the University of Wiralodra shows that the kinesthetic physical intelligence of students has not been trained. It is proven that students do not feel trained in operating the microscope and determine the magnification of the microscope, which means that the kinesthetic physical intelligence of students has not been trained. Based on these problems, a digital microscope is needed that can train students' kinesthetic physical intelligence in practicing plant anatomy. Digital microscope technology innovation is needed as a means of supporting plant anatomy practicum. In accordance with the nature of the research is the development of a digital microscope based on blended learning, the type used in this research is Research and Development (Research and Development). The trial subjects in this study were prospective biology education teacher candidates in the 2nd semester of Biology Education study program at the University of Wiralodra consisting of 5 classes and totaling 185 students. Sampling using cluster random sample method, consisting of 2 classes, namely Bio B (experimental class) and Bio D (control class) provided that the population is homogeneous. The results of the development of a digital microscope based on blended learning used in plant anatomy practicums were declared very valid. The blended learning digital microscope that was developed can improve the kinesthetic physical intelligence of students in plant anatomy practices, in the high category. There is a significant difference in the increase in kinesthetic physical intelligence of students between classes that use a digital microscope based on blended learning and classes that use a binocular light microscope.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penguasaan hakikat sains dan penerapannya dalam LKS yang telah dikembangkan guru Biologi SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif. Partisipan dari penelitian ini adalah guru-guru Biologi dari SMA berbeda di Bandung yang mengikuti program pendampingan pengembangan kegiatan laboratorium berbasis inkuiri yang diadakan oleh Dosen Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hakikat sains, lembar angket, lembar observasi dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil tes hakikat sains, aspek kaidah-kaidah fakta ilmiah dan postulat sains mendapatkan hasil capaian yang sama (80%). Capaian yang terendah yaitu pada aspek tatanama ilmiah (45%). LKS yang dikembangkan oleh guru telah mengandung aspek-aspek hakikat sains, meskipun belum seluruh aspek dapat teridentifikasi di dalamnya.

Abstract

This study investigated conceptual change in students’ understanding of ecosystem concept. The PDEODE (Predict-Discuss-Explain-Observe-Discuss-Explain) teaching strategy, a variant of classical POE (Predict-Discuss-Explain) was implemented during the study. Sample was 28 senior high school students in one of senior high school in Bandung. Students’ ideas about ecosystem concept were revealed by a ten questions-test called ECT (Ecosystem Conceptual Test). Conceptual change in student’s understanding of ecosystem concept was evaluated by administering ECT in pretest, posttest, and delayed posttest.Tests’ score were then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. One-way ANOVA test result showed statistically significant score difference (p<0.05) in each test which suggested PDEODE helped the students to achieve better understanding. Moreover, no statistically significant differences were found between posttest and delayed posttest scores, indicating that the teaching strategy helped the student to retain their new conceptions.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini menyelidiki perubahan konseptual pada pemahaman siswa tentang konsep ekosistem.Variasi dari strategi pengajaran POE (Predict-Discuss-Explain) yakni PDEODE (Predict-Discuss-Explain-Observe-Discuss-Explain) diterapkan selama penelitian ini. Sampel penelitian adalah 28 siswa di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas di Bandung. Ide-ide siswa tentang konsep ekosistem diungkap dengan menggunakan ujian 10 soal yang disebut sebagai ECT (Ecosystem Conceptual Test). Perubahan konseptual siswa dalam hal pema-haman tentang konsep ekosistem dievaluasi dengan ECT pada pretes, postes, dan delayed posttest. Hasil uji ANOVA satu arah menunjukkan nilai ketiga tes berbeda signifikan (p<0,05) yang menunjukkan bahwa PDEODE membantu siswa untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik. Selain itu, tidak adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara postes dan delayed posttest mengindikasikan bahwa strategi pengajaran ini dapat membantu siswa untuk mempertahankan pemahaman baru mereka.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze about the development of the performance assessment in assessing the integrated science process skills on the concept of habitat in the ecosystem. The integrated science process skills require a higher knowledge based to be able to carry out a variety of science process skills in an integrated learning. Performance assessment development process starting from the preparation of the performance assessment, the assessment test in order to obtain the parts repaired and the device obtained a more complete assessment of performance. Descriptive method is used in this research. The study provides information that the instruments developed already proper for use to assess the integrated science process skills on the concept of habitat in the ecosystem. Judging from the achievement test scores on the implementation class development from  the previous trials with an average score of integrated KPS by (70.00) and increased at the stage of implementation of (73.11) with good category. It also developed an effective performance assessment to assess the the integrated science process skills with validity of the assessment of performance has increased in every test try. The first trial has the validity number (0,56), the second trials has validity number (0.81) and the last trials has the validity number (0.86). It can be concluded the assessment was developed capable to assessing the integrated science process skills of students with very high the last valdity value.

Abstract

Access to the Internet, as well as Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in general, is nowincreasingly needed by the wider community, including by the pesantren community. The community of pesantren needInternet media to expand access to sources of knowledge, publish the activities of pesantren, as well as a medium ofpesantren da?wah in cyberspace. Due to the lack of use of ICT in pesantren, then not all ICT components can be utilized.This community service partner is Pesantren Yasin Kudus, who wants to apply ICT to support learning for students(called santri), by providing smooth and healthy Internet access at affordable cost. The problem faced is Internet accessthat only depends on one Internet Service Provider (ISP), so if the connection on the ISP is failed then Internet accessbecomes disturbed. The solution offered is the use of two ISP connections as an Internet access network, by applying loadbalancing technology using Per Connection Classifier (PCC) method so that loading of traffic on both ISPs can bebalanced. With this program, partners can utilize Internet access from both ISPs optimally

Abstract

Jomblang Village is one of the villages in Candisari sub-district, Semarang city. Jomblang Village has an area of ??± 108 Ha and has a population of 17,322 people, has 15 RWs and 120 RTs. Activities that have been developed in Kelurahan Jomblang include catfish fattening, packaging screen printing, waste processing and catering including tempe craftsmen, tofu into chips. The activity carried out is an initiative of the local community, which is carried out with affordable capital and can be done by residents on the sidelines of free time which can be used as a side job. In this service, PKK mothers in RW V, Jomblang sub-district, Candisari subdistrict, Semarang has conducted training in the form of knitting skills and making simple knitting bags, followed by mentoring on how to market their products digitally (via the internet). The completion of community service is expected to make it easier for mothers to sell their knitting products and increase their product sales to the community through IoT technology so that it can improve the family economy.

Abstract

At present, most countries all over the world are being hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and some even are being hit harder than others. This condition has caused widespread disruption of the economic, social, and educational systems in those countries.  Under these conditions, transportation systems also need to be considered. There are problems of distribution of drugs and kits of test equipment to areas far from large cities in the center of the corona pandemic due to access difficulty. Remote locations, being difficult to reach, make the distribution of drugs and equipment for rapid testing uneven so that the recovery rate of patients in the area has a low percentage. Meanwhile, it is essential to ensure the availability of drugs and rapid test equipment in every public health center in all directions of Indonesia. One possible solution is the use of drones to distribute these things to areas that are difficult to reach. This solution is expected to at least improve healing and reduce mortality for patients infected with COVID-19 in remote areas.
