Abstract

Abstract

This article discusses three ratio-cum-product estimators for the population mean usingthe coefficient of correlation on simple random sampling i.e. ratio-cum-productestimator, dual ratio-cum-product estimator, and combination dual ratio-cum-productestimator. The three estimators are biased estimators. Then the mean square errors aredetermined. Furthermore, these mean square errors are compared to the mean squareerror of each estimator. This comparison shows that the combination dual ratio-cum-product estimator using coefficient of correlation is more efficient than other estimators.

Abstract

This paper discussed about three the ratio-product estimators for mean population in thestratified random sampling. It is combinations of ratio estimator and product estimatorin stratified random sampling. This paper is a review from the paper of Tailor et.al.[Communications of the Korean Statistical Society 18:111-118]. The estimatorsdiscussed are the combination of ratio-product estimator, combination of ratio-productestimator using coefficient of variation and combination of ratio-product estimator usingcoefficient of kurtosis. All of estimators are bias estimator. Then the mean square error(MSE) of each estimator is evaluated. Furthermore, the MSE of each estimator iscompared. This comparison shows that the combination of ratio-product estimator is themost efficient, that is with the smallest MSE.

Abstract

Three regression ratio estimators are used to estimate the population mean Y under simple random sampling.  Using two auxiliary variables X and Z, it should be conditioned that there is high correlation between Y and X, Y and Z, whereas there mayor may not be any correlation between X dan Z.  These estimators are recommended by Singh, Upadhyaya and Premchandra [5] which is a review of the article “An Improved Version of Regression Ratio Estimator with Two Auxiliary Variables in Sample Surveys.”  All estimators are biased. The efficient estimator is one with the least Mean Square Error (MSE), determined by comparing each type of estimator.

Abstract

In this article we discuss three estimators for population ratio using the coefficien regression and dual, which is a review from the article of Onyeka et.al [GlobalJournal of Science Frontier Research, 13(2013):57-65]. The three estimators are biased estimators and their mean square errorsare determined. Furthermore, this mean square errorsare compared to mean square error of each estimator.This comparison shows that thetype-product estimator is more efficient than another estimators.

Abstract

Estimators discussed in this paper are estimators that estimate a population mean with imputation method under double sampling design using regression estimators. Imputation methodsare used to estimate the missing data. This is a review of an article written by Thakur et. al [Journal of Reliability and Statistical Studies, 5(2): 21- 31]. There are three estimators that discussed and each of them is an unbiased estimator. The minimum variance of each estimator is compared in order to decide the most efficient estimator.

Abstract

This article reviews  three product estimators  for the population mean in  simple random sampling.  They  use the  coefficient of variation and  coefficient of kurtosis  of auxiliary variables. This article  is the reviewof  Singh’s article [Jour. Ind. Soc.  Ag. Statistics 56(3): 267-275]. Those three estimators are biased. Then their Mean Square Error(MSE) are determined. Furthermore,  MSE  of each estimator is compared to obtain the most efficient estimator.  This  study  shows  that the  modification of  the product  estimator  is the most efficient estimator if the conditions are met.

Abstract

In this article the combination of ratio estimators and  ratio-regression  in  simple random sampling  using  quartile  deviation  and coefficient of skewness are  discussed, which is a review from the  article  Jeelani  et.al.  [International Journal of Modern Mathematical Sciences,  6(3): 174-183]. These  estimators  are biased  estimators and  their  mean square errors are determined. Estimator with the smallest mean square error is the most efficient estimator. A numerical example is given at the end of discussion.

Abstract

In this article we study three linear regression ratio estimators for the population mean on simple random. This study is a review of the article of Singh, et. al [Statistics in Transition-new series, 10: 85-100]. Each estimator is a biased estimator and their mean square errors are determined. Estimator with the smallest mean square error is the most efficient one. An example is given at the end of the discussion.

The three estimators are biased estimators and their  mean square errors  are  determined.  Each  estimator  compared to  the value of the mean square error.  Comparison shows that the estimator with the minimum mean square error is an efficient estimator.
