Abstract

The Plurality of cultures in the country of Indonesia can be seen from the diverse ethnics and tribal minorities and the majorities either. The numbers of Klenteng/temple as one of the places of worship of minority Chinese community which has now been given freedom by the government of Indonesia, are still very few. Jin De Yuan Klenteng is one of the mainstay of tourism in the Area Chinatown, Glodok who entered the Old City area in the world. Therefore, the aesthetic value in the pagoda is very important to be raised in order to remain attractive as a tourism asset. How the application of aesthetic elements on the exterior of Jin De Yuan temple, and any decoration is used, by looking at the positive side of social relationships and cultural preservation, is the  point that must be noticed and developed by all of us.

Abstract

Chinese restaurants are obviously connected to Chinese culture for it holds a great importance and is even the core point of creating art. The art would be based upon the aesthetic contents which contain symbolic meaning in Chinese philosophy. In a typical chinese restaurant the connection between tradition and art is represented in the form of ornaments that acts functionally and has specific unique characteristics. This study was conducted by qualitative method with survey, interview, and documentation of the ornaments in chinese restaurant. This study aims to introduce and enrich the knowledge, as the ornaments stand for showing the identity of chinese culture in chinese restaurant. The aesthetical theory about the art of design and the implementation of chinese ornaments took part in the study as well. Result of the study shows that the chinese restaurant observed has implemented the interior and applied the ornaments well in showing chinese identity. Besides, the materials used for furniture and interior elements have given the nuances of Chinese culture. Study concludes that the aesthetic atmosphere of the interior of Dian Xiao Er Restaurant is calm, peaceful, and relaxing like sitting in a modest diner. The dynamics that was created is something impressed repetitive yet not boring

Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to make people aware of the new concept design of the food court that influence the ambiance and related to the attractiveness factors. The method of documentation of the interior element was done by the analysis to the food court in Senayan City. It was expected to be a comparison of the previous design before the renovation (Food Studio) in connection with the modernization and renewal of the design (Delicaè). Some design elements such as floor wall and ceiling that applied must bear a lasting impression and be an inbuilt piece of the decoration that linked to scale, style, and color. This research was potentially contributed to shopping malls attractiveness factors and their impact on shoppers’ satisfaction in shopping malls in Jakarta and outside the city. It can be concluded that updating the design is very important if the shopping malls do not want to left-behind in this modern area. The comparison has been made between old-design with the new one that is found out that people nowadays are very open-minded about design and do care about attractive things in shopping malls.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelago country with various ethnics which have specific culture. One of the most popular cultures is Betawi culture in which people grew and spreaded in a city used to be called as Batavia. Nowadays, the variety of Betawi culture can be obviously seen by language, art, dance, ceremony, tradisional clothes, architecture, and ornaments. In order to preserve the culture, discussing and analyzing Betawi tradisional house with its ornaments and architecture is very important. The architecture which shows symbols and ornaments in all over the design can be found at the ethnic house. Betawi ethnic house consists of many symbols that represent meaning of the art and delivers some messages for people. This study was carried with comparative analysis and descriptive method. Research results show all Betawi architectural and ornaments could bring benefits and support preservation. The preservation included protecting and developing, and at the same time, making use of it as the cultural inheritance that has high values.

Abstract

Clothing, food, and shelter are basic human needs. In a common household, food is provided through the kitchen. However, a kitchen does not only serve that purpose it is also needed as a place for recreation and communication of the family. Because cooking is a daily routine and takes quite an amount of time, it is considered as a tedious and heavy job. And so, if someone does not cook/work properly in terms of the movements or follow the ergonomic requirements, it would easily make her/him down and make her/him less efficient. To overcome these problems, it is required to improve the environment by adjusting the height according to user’s anthropometry. With these steps, the family would hopefully change their work attitude. They would hopefully find cooking easier and less tiring; and make it more comfortable and ergonomic to cook in the kitchen.

Abstract

Berbicara tentang restoran Cina, jelas akanterkait dengan persoalan budaya Cina. Nilai budaya mempunyaihubungan erat bahkan mendasari terciptanya suatu keseniankhususnya seni rupa. Seni akan tercermin dan mengarah pada konteksestetika yang mengandung makna simbolis dalam karya seni di manafilosofi Cina menyertai. Dalam restoran Cina, hubungan antara budayadengan seni terwujud dalam bentuk ornament yang bersifat fungsional,benda hias ataupun yang memiliki ciri dan sifat spesifik dan unik khasCina. Teori estetika mengenai bagaimana penggambaran nilaikeindahan dalam penerapan ornament di interior restoran Cina ikutterlibat dalam topik ini.Kajian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif pendekatan survey danwawancara serta pendokumentasian ornament pada interior restoranCina di Jakarta dengan tujuan untuk memberikan suatu wacana danpenerangan mengenai penerapan ornament yang menjadi petandakultur kecinaan pada restoran tersebut. Abstract

AbstractNusantara ornament is one of culture activities that requires protection, development and utilization in order to preserve them. Solo has become the center of Javanese culture where the ritual of life at Keraton Solo also became part of everyday life of the surrounding community and this makes Solo culture continued to survive until today.Solo's ornaments had influence from Javanese Hindu with specific meaning and symbolism, and this ornament found on the architecture and interior as decorative part of the building. This is a qualitative research focused on documentating Solo's ornaments application in Dapur Solo Restaurant. The objectives of this research is to support the nation's cultural preservation for nusantara's ornament, well in addition this research is also done to prevent the different meaning of ornaments that does not match its placement. Dapur Solo restaurant has Solo's ornaments that applied inmodern technique as interior elements. The collected data from Dapur Solo restaurant compared with the literature study for Solo's ornament. Some findings found the existence of mismatch of suitability of meaning will be delivered in the conclusion of this study.  AbstrakRagam hias Nusantara merupakan salah satu hasil budaya yangmembutuhkan kegiatan pelestarian berupa melakukan perlindungan,pengembangan dan pemanfaatan. Solo telah menjadi salah satu pusat budaya Jawa Tengah dimana ritual kehidupan di Keraton Solo juga menjadi bagian dari keseharian masyarakat di sekitarnya dan hal inilah yang menjadikan budaya Solo terus bertahan hingga saat ini. Ragam hias Solo dihasilkan dari pengaruh budaya Hindu Jawa yang memiliki perlambangan dan makna tertentu, dan ragam hias ini dapat dijumpai pada arsitektur maupun interior dari bangunan Solo. Penelitian terhadap ragam hias ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan kegiatan berupa pendokumentasian secara khusus pada Restoran Dapur Solo. Diharapkan aplikasi dari tujuan penelitian yang dilakukan terhadap ragam hias Indonesia sebagai pelestarian dari budaya bangsa dapat tercapai dengan baik selain itu penelitian ini juga dilakukan untuk menghindari terjadinya penyalahgunaan terhadap makna ragam hias yang tidak sesuai penempatannya sehingga memiliki arti yang berbeda. Di Restoran Dapur Solo terlihat adanya perpaduan antara ragam hias budaya Solo yang diaplikasikan secara modern pada elemen interior restoran.Sehingga kegiatan penelitian berupa pendokumentasian fokus dilakukanpada aplikasi ragam hias budaya Solo pada interior Restoran Dapur Solo. Dari data yang diperoleh di lapangan selanjutnya hasil pendokumentasiandibandingkan dengan data literatur terhadap jenis ragam hias budaya Solo, beberapa temuan yang dijumpai adanya ketidaksesuaian ataupun kesesuaian makna akan disampaikan dalam kesimpulan dari penelitian ini.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze a museum interior design to be able to find the latest output regarding displaying or circulation techniques in a public space, especially museum. This study background is a public phenomenon visited by museums nowadays, which is seen on their social media accounts. Especially for contemporary and art design museums, it becomes an attractive icon for young people, as well as seniors. However, there are many things that need to be considered in designing a museum interior where many factors support for a success interior design, including: display techniques, gallery categorization, signage systems, and lighting. This study will examine how to applied the above items. As a comparison, contemporary art museums in Jakarta and New York. By doing these comparisons, researcher expected there will be a resume on how designing a good contemporary art museum. With good and attractive interior design in a contemporary art museum, it will further increased visitors interest and the awareness of the community to explore the museum. The method used is by observing and documenting techniques and analyzing the interior of research objects, combined with literature studies, hopefully this research can contribute to the museum design technique as an ergonomic and interactive public space for the wider community. For future development of the museum, this research contributes for a better, good and friendly display techniques. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa perancangan interior sebuah museum untuk dapat ditemukan luaran terbaru perihal teknik display maupun sirkulasi dalam sebuah ruang publik yakni museum. Latar belakang penelitian adalah fenomena masyarakat luas yang terlihat kesadaran untuk berkunjung ke museum, yang terlihat pada akun sosial media masyarakat jaman sekarang yang demikian semarak, khususnya untuk museum bernafaskan contemporary dan art design, menjadi satu ikon menarik bagi kalangan muda, juga para senior. Namun demikian banyak hal yang perlu diperhatikan pada perancangan sebuah interior museum dimana banyak factor yang mendukung kesuksesan sebuah desain museum, antara lain dalam hal teknik display, pengkategorian gallery, system signage, maupun pencahayaan. Dengan design interior yang baik dan menarik pada sebuah museum kontemporer, diharapkan akan semakin menaikkan minat para pengunjung dan kesadaran masyarakat akan semakin meningkat untuk mengeksplorasi isi dari museum tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan teknik pengamatan dan pendokumnetasian serta analisa interior objek penelitian, dipadukan dengan studi literature, diharapkan penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada teknik perancangan museum sebagai sebuah ruang public yang ergonomis dan interaktif menyenangkan bagi masyarakat luas. Untuk pengembangan museum ke depannya, penelitian ini memberikan sumbangsih perihal teknik display yang baik dan bersahabat

Abstract

Cultural acculturation can be seen from various aspects, where the fusion of two cultural elements will not remove the could go to Indonesia and was applied to the temples in Indonesia, but still did not leave the cultural elements of Indonesia. Temple Jin De Yuan was one of the many temples in Jakarta, especially in the area of Chinatown, an area in terms of population, form of shelter, social order and the atmosphere of the environment had historically rooted characteristic of cultured Chinese people which was very thick with the architecture Chinese. Article presents how the application of Chinese architecture as a manifestation of Chinese culture and acculturation Indonesia in the  temple Jin De Yuan  can increase the cultural treasury of Indonesia. The research applied qualitative method and also library research.

Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara kesatuan memiliki beragam etnik kebudayaan dan suku baik minoritas maupun mayoritas. Klenteng adalah tempat ibadah masyarakat minoritas Tionghoa, yang jumlahnya belum terlalu banyak, namun tersebar di berbagai wilayah kepulauan Indonesia. Sejak pemerintah telah memberikan kebebasan beragama bagi masyarakat Tionghoa keturunan, semakin banyak klenteng-klenteng tua yang mulai dikenal dan diekspos masyarakat. Mulai dari ritual doa dan dewa-dewa yang ada dalam klenteng, hingga dekorasi eksterior maupun interior klenteng, sudah ditilik oleh masyarakat yang tidak hanya tertarik untuk mengetahui namun juga mulai terdorong untuk meneliti lebih jauh kedalam mengenai makna itu semua. Fasad dan atap yang pertama kali terlihat pada sebuah bangunan eksterior klenteng sangat menarik untuk ditelaah mengingat banyak makna yang terkandung dari pengaplikasian ornamen yang digunakan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan metode kualitatif dan dilakukan dengan studi lapangan, observasi, dokumentasi serta wawancara. Hasil yang didapatkan berguna bagi keilmuan desain arsitektur mengenai makna ragam hias atau dekorasi pada atap klenteng. Nilai estetika sangat penting untuk ditampilkan agar tampilan luar tetap menarik sebagai aset wisata. Bagaimana penerapan elemen estetika pada eksterior bangunan kelenteng dan ragam hias apa saja yang digunakan menjadi hal yang menarik untuk diteliti dan dikembangkan selanjutnya.
