Abstract

The development of technology can be used as a means of supporting learning. Like learning based on digital products for students.  The study aimed at describing and analyzing the implementation of learning Arabic Writing Skill (Maharah Kitabah) based on digital products, namely the creation and publication of journal articles and its effects on the learning process. This research was conducted on 22 students writing skills class (Maharah Kitabah) 3, 5th of the semester. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are, 1) observation of learning writing skills (Maharah Kitabah) III, 2) interviews with lecturers and students writing skills classes (Maharah Kitabah) III about the implementation of Arabic Writing Skill (Maharah Kitabah)based on digital product and the impact, and 3) documentation of learning data and works student digital products. Maharah Kitabah learning based on digital products in the form of writing scientific articles online by utilizing references and references of digital managers has a good impact for the students who took part in the Maharah Kitabah learning process with this model, all students were able to make Arabic journal articles using Mendeley and Turnitin citations, and students were able to publish Arabic journal articles to national e-journals.

Abstract

 The study aimed at measuring the effect of translanguaging approach in teaching Arabic reading comprehension to the second semester students of Indonesian Education Department, Universitas Iqra Buru. 64 students involved as the participants through simple random sampling technique. 32 students participated in each of the experimental and control group. The researchers used reading test of written test to obtain information about the students’ achievemnt in reading on the use of translanguaging approach and it was distributed to the respondents after the last treatment given. To find out the mean score, standard deviation and the t-test value between the pretest and the posttest the researchers used the SPSS 17 program. The researchers found that the use of translanguaging approach in learning Arabic reading comprehension improves the students’ ability of Arabic reading comprehension is better than the conventional method.

Abstract

This study aimed at determining whether or not the knowledge, educational level, perception, and attitude of the pesantren students affect the implementation of the multilingual simultaneous-sequential model (MSSM). This research employed quantitative research using a survey design. The sample of the study consisted of 100 students of three pesantren schools in the city of Makassar (Pesantren Modern IMMIM, Pondok Madinah, and Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Gombara). The data were collected through the questionnaire and be analyzed descriptively and inferentially using SPSS program. The results found that the knowledge, level of education, perception, and attitude of pesantren students collectively had a positive impact on the MSSM. However, these perceptions have no significant effect on the MSSM implementation partially. The results of this study contributed to developing further multilingual teaching and learning material such as syllabus, lesson plan, and course book for pesantren students in Indonesia, especially in Makassar.

Abstract

Facebook is a social media that is very popular with students in Indonesia. Thus, this study attempted to examine the increased of students’ Arabic acquisition through Facebook group learning. This research was quantitative research using quasi-experimental design. The sample of this study consists of two classes from the students of the Arabic language education department at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim. The instrument of this research was writing test. The results of this study indicated an increase of students’ Arabic acquisition so the researchers concluded that Facebook groups can improve the students’ ability to write in Arabic.

Abstract

Mahad Sunan Ampel Al Aly (MSAA) is an Islamic educational institution under the auspices of the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. All new students are required to live in the dormitory (Mahad) for one year with the aim of creating a conducive atmosphere in the development of education, forming the character of polite students through religious activities, as well as improving language skills (Arabic and English) through linguistic activities. Musyrif (male counselor) and Musrifah (female counselor) has an essential role in achieving that goal. They are educators or tutors in scientific activities.To improve the competence of the Musrif and Musrifah in teaching, the pre-learning programs are held every once a week on weekends. This study aims to explore the model of tutor’s pre-teaching to enrich the programs of  language learning activities at MSAA. The research method used is the case study method using observation and interview techniques. The results showed that the pre-learning program provided the ability of  Musrif and Musrifah to organize the time appropriately, mastered sufficient material to be conveyed to new students, gained knowledge about variations and language learning games, and motivated techniques.

Abstract

In reality, not a few teachers who have been certified as educators are less competent in teaching the field of study. Many teachers are also able to master the subject matter, but they have difficult to present the material. This research applied a qualitative method using a case study design. It was carried out in the State Madrasah schools of Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency. This research was conducted from August to 02 November 2017. The subjects of this study were 3 Arabic teachers, two principals and 6 class students totaling 12 informants. Based on the results, it was found that the pedagogic competence of Arabic language teachers was still relatively low due to the several indicators that were not implemented during the learning process. The personality’s competence of Arabic language teachers is relatively good compared to their pedagogical competence. The lacks of training, facilities, and rewards have caused the low educational competence of teachers. Their personal competence is due to strict supervision and their commitment to building the ummah as followers of religion and not because of their profession as teachers. Students are motivated to learn Arabic due to the motivation is given by the teacher, the mu'amalah is good between teachers and students, and there is a continuous and rigorous evaluation.

Abstract

This study aimed at; 1) exploring the process of intercultural communication in a multiculturalism family in Namlea; 2) investigating the functions of intercultural communication in a multiculturalism family; 3) knowing the multiculturalism family developing their intercultural competence. This research applied the qualitative research using a case study design. The informant of the research consisted of a multiculturalism family in Jikubesar of Buru Regency, Maluku. The data collection technique employed the observation, interview, field notes, and documentation. The technique of data analysis was data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the adjusting and understanding others culture were the key of the success of the intercultural process in a multicultural family through some functions and strategies in developing the intercultural communication competence. The results of the study contributed to develop the communication model in the multicultural society such in the environment interaction. It also could be adapted as a strategy or model of teaching and learning a language in the multicultural classroom.Keywords: Intercultural communication, multicultural competence

Abstract

The sad phenomenon regarding the current shift in the Buru regional language is a very dominant factor threatening the extinction of its people's identity. Of the total population of 132,100 people in Buru district, only about 14,000 know the Buru language, and only about 5,000 people are able and active in communicating using the Buru language. This study aims to examine the condition of regional dialects ??in Indonesia, especially on the island of Buru, which has experienced a shift that has an impact on extinction, what are the factors that affect the destruction of the Buru regional language, and what are the first steps to prevent the extinction. This study applied a qualitative approach with phenomenology design to describe the phenomena that occur in connection with the shift in regional languages ??on the island of Buru. The results found that the language shift phenomenon and the threat of extinction of the Buru language in Buru district are increasing day by day due to the dominance of the Indonesian language and the development of information technology, and the lack of public and government awareness in preserving local languages ??as their identity.

Abstract

The number of local language deaths in Indonesia is a national concern that must be addressed immediately. This study aims to describe and explore how to overcome the death of local languages ??in Indonesia through multilingual learning models in schools. This study is a library study that analyzes and analyzes the results of previously published studies related to multilingual learning in Indonesia. The results of this study found two learning models, namely the multilingual simultaneous-sequential model and the embedded multilingual model, which are suitable to be adapted and adopted in teaching local Indonesian languages ??in schools. This research also contributes to the central, provincial, and district governments to apply the laws and regulations that have been developed and implemented.

Abstract

AbstractThis research attempts to explore the implementation of blended learning in teaching the course of ?Qawaid al-Imla 1? and the perceptions of teachers and students towards the blended learning application at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. It applied a grounded theory design using the observation and interview to collect the data. The data gained were analyzed using Strauss & Corbin model, they are, open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The results found that application of blended learning helped the lecturers in planning and presenting the material as well as the evaluating the students? learning progress.
