Abstract

One factor is the low yields of fish fisheries production storage techniques are not maximal. In the system of fishing in Riau Islands,generally using small weights of motor boats, fishing gear and storage techniques are simple (conventional). Due to modern cooling system is quite expensive, fishermen only use containers containing ice cubes as a coolant to keep them fresh in a few hours. The objective of the study is, designing an automatic control system forfish box cooler with a constant temperature in the fish box. The device consistsof the research isa heatsink, Peltier, temperature gauge, and pump. The device is a system in this study using a temperature sensor and Bluetooth. The results of sensor readings will be processed using the Arduino Uno is integrated with Bluetooth and then sent to the android application. The data are in the Android application will be monitored based on the desired temperature (setpoint).

Abstract

Abstract

The live fish storege currently is not able to control the pH parameters of the water according to the fishs living environment. pH needs to be considered so that fish can survive. The purpose of this research is to design a system that can control the pH of water in fish hatch using a microcontroller and LabVIEW. The test is carried out on the hatch with dimensions of 90 cm x 65 cm x 50 cm. Monitoring changes in pH values in real time is done through LCD and LabVIEW. This device is equipped with an LED indicator that can indicate the condition of the relay outside of the LaBVIEW software. The difference in sensor readings designed with a standard measuring instrument is only around 0.05. The appearance process of the sensor reading value on the LCD and LabVIEW runs well with a response time reading of about 0.5 seconds and with a response time in controlling the relay about 0.3 seconds. Fish can survive using a control system designed during the testing process within 2x24 hours. The reading value from the sensor will be stored in real time as long as the LabVIEW software runs.

Abstract

Community service activity is conducted in the region of KKN-PPM Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) in the Malang Rapat Village, Bintan Regency.  Malang Rapat Village was chosen because of the location on the coastal area and have a concern about the management of hydrology, clean water resources and the management of limited water resources.  The lack of information and transfer of knowledge to the community in the coastal areas will produce some difficulties to solve the problems, especially in solving the problems regarding the adequacy and need for clean water. Then the general condition of the youth village in the coastal areas is not goal oriented. Based on those exercising their Community Services activities are carried out using the learning development by including the principle of 4C (Creative, Collaborative, Communicative and Competitive). It is expected that with the development of scientific principles that incorporate the principle of the transfer of the value of creativity, collaborative, communicative and competitive will give a very good impact to the target object for the long term. In this case, appropriate technology was designed for a public event in the Region KKN-PPM Malang Rapat Village in helping to resolve the problem of clean water needs for consumption is making Fix Desalination System. Fix Desalination System designed structure mica glass/acrylic which has a volume of 1 m3 to produce 15.95 ml distilled fresh water in the tank within 6 hours.

Abstract

Marine industry is one of the element of great importance to a country, especially the State is a maritime country. Marine industry is neither an institution that can stand alone. This means that marine industry has a close relationship with the other industry that is support marine industry. In several developing countries, they have a way to keep the marine support industry can be competitive to face global challenges. Looking at this condition, there is a strong link between the marine support industry and the competitive element. To realize a marine support industry keep competitive and sustainable, marine support industry must have a competative element to the strategic criteria. The study will choose what elements of competitive strategy in order to support marine industry stay competative and sustainable. The competitive elements that generated in this report can be used by all maritime nations to maintain maritime support industry stay competitive and sustainable, such as state of Indonesia. Indonesia as a maritime country and has many islands and also has a vast sea  area must have a strong maritime industry to keep stay competitive and able to contribute in the global maritime industry.

Abstract

Pembangkit tenaga listrik menghasilkan sumber energi listrik yang akan disalurkan ke jalur sistem distribusi. Sistem distribusi ini belum sepenuhnya maksimal dalam proses penyaluran energi listrik karena sistem monitoringnya belum maksimal. Hal ini akan berakibat pada kegagalan sistem dalam distribusi listrik. Pada penelitian ini, akan dilakukan sistem monitoring distribusi listrik 2x3 MW di Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mesin Gas (PLTMG) Kijang. Sistem monitoring meliputi listrik yang disalurkan dan listrik yang dimanfaatkan untuk pengoperasian peralatan dan komponen pendukung pada sistem pembangkit tenaga listrik. Sistem distribusi listrik di PLTMG Kijang disalurkan melalui jaringan 20 KV. Hasil monitoring yang didapatkan bahwa daya rerata untuk penggunaan pembangkit ketika tidak beroperasi berkisar 1655.894 Watt per bulan. Sistem distribusi listrik ke express feeder pada daya 3 MW menghasilkan rerata cos phi 0.99, frekuensi 50.1 Hz, tegangan 20.1 KV, dan arus 86.14 A. Sistem distribusi listrik pada daya 6 MW menghasilkan rerata cos phi 0.99, frekuensi 50.1 Hz, tegangan 20.1 KV, dan arus 172.3 A.

Abstract

Demand for traditional ship in Indonesia is very high, because the ship is used of fishermen for catching fish as a livelihood. Shipbuilders as manufactures play an important element in building safety and good traditional wooden ships. In the production process, the shipbuilders must be has proper quality control system, in order to match with the owner specification, regulation, and statutory. Therefore, this article discusses about quality control system in traditional ship production process. The research were conducted by direct survey to traditional shipbuilders in Bintan Island-Indonesia by inspect some ships by visual eyes only. From the survey, it was found many discrepancies occur, such as the use of wood has many defects, knur, knot and cracks. In addition, the wood concatenation process is not perfect, which can cause leakage. From the study, the shipbuilders should conduct quality control using other tools instead of visual technique only.

Abstract

The camera is a popular device and easy to find in every human activities nowadays. The camera is not only known in the world of photography to capture images and video, but more than that. The camera has been used monitoring device that helps human works easier, more effective and more efficient. The camera has been used for security, to monitoring a place, traffic monitoring and other similar function in various sectors of human activity. Even now, the camera has been integrated with computer system and other systems to create a sophisticated automation control and monitoring technology. The purpose of this research is to design an underwater monitoring camera system that can display good quality video of underwater objek which can be displayed and accessed via internet using Youtube application. The main component of this design consists high resolution waterproof camera, microtic device, and computer. The communiction media used to access the internet network of this device uses 3G/LTE cellular signal. This devise produces good quality underwater video. The farther the camera is placed in the sea, the less the lighting and it results blurred image and limited range of vision.

Abstract

Pendidikan pada usia dini menjadi sebuah fenomena menarik pada saat ini di Indonesia,dapat dilihat dari menjamurnya taman pendidikan untuk anak yang belum  bisa masuk sekolah. Provinsi Kepulauan Riau (Kepri) yang lokasinya berbatasan langsung dengan Gerbang Internasional Singapura dan Malaysia secara tidak langsung diminta untuk mampu berkompetisi secara secara softskill dan hardskill. Untuk menghadapi kesempatan tersebut dan menciptakan generasi yang mampu bersaing secara global, jurusan Teknik Elektro Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) melalui tridharma perguruan tinggi, bekerjasama dengan bagian Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Banyan Tree Hotel and Resorts Bintan, menghasilkan sebuah program bernama Edutech for Children (EfC). EfC adalah program untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa berpikir secara kritis dan analisis pada usia dini melalui pengenalan proses perancangan rekayasa dan pelatihan pola pikir insinyur untuk siswa di sekolah. Dimulai dari proses etnografi, brainstorming, menentukan permasalahan dan solusi utama dan merancang menggunakan perangkat lunak 3 dimensi Autodesk inventor. Sebuah inovasi yang merupakan luaran dari proses desain rekayasa adalah merupakan hasil dari proses rancangan yang berbasiskan kepada pengguna dengan menggunakan pendekatan etnografi, oleh sebab itu melalui pelatihan yang diberikan siswa akan diajak untuk mampu memahami bahwa sebuah inovasi tersebut membutuhkan integrasi kemampuan berpikir secara luas terhadap permasalahan yang ada di masyarakat. Dengan kegiatan ini didapatkan hasil memuaskan yang dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya kemampuan teknis dan munculnya pola pikir inovatif sehingga siswa mampu untuk menemukan dan merancang teknologi yang sesuai untuk kebutuhan setempat. Kata kunci: Berpikir, Kompetisi, Kemampuan, Siswa, Teknologi ABSTRACT Education at an early age is an interesting phenomenon at this time in Indonesia, can be seen from the mushrooming of educational parks for children who have not been able to go to school. Riau Islands Province (Riau Islands) whose location is directly adjacent to the International Gates of Singapore and Malaysia is indirectly requested to be able to compete in soft skills and hard skills. To face this opportunity and create a generation that is able to compete globally, the Department of Electrical Engineering, Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH) through the three-tridharma of higher education, in collaboration with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) section of the Banyan Tree Hotel and Resorts Bintan, produced a program called Edutech for Children (EfC). EfC is a program to improve students 'ability to think critically and analyze at an early age through the introduction of the engineering design process and training of engineers' mindsets for students in schools. Starting from the ethnographic process, brainstorming, determining the main problems and solutions and designing using Autodesk Inventor's 3-dimensional software. An innovation which is an outcome of the engineering design process is the result of a design process based on the user using an ethnographic approach, therefore through training provided students will be invited to be able to understand that an innovation requires the integration of broad thinking skills towards problems exist in the community. With this activity, satisfying results are evidenced by increasing technical ability and the emergence of innovative mindsets so that students are able to find and design technologies that are suitable for local needs.
