Abstract

Globalization makes many changes and developments in information technology. Informationand communication technology which is currently widely used is the internet. Through the internetpeople can communicate and exchange information easily without the constraints of time and place.Nowadays that are in demand by the public is to shop online, there are many sites to shop online oneof which is social networking. Currently among housewives are actively participating in onlineshopping. If someone buys the goods based on selfish desires without the uses and benefits of aproduct will make people behave consumptive. This study uses a quantitative approach to thepopulation, namely housewives who never shop online. Samples are taken by 30 respondentsdetermined by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected by questionnaires. Analysis of datausing correlation analysis, determination analysis, parsial test. With IBM SPSS 22. The resultsshowed a significant influence between onlineshop social networks on consumer behavior with theregression equation at 0.528, correlation of 0.333 means that the relationship is low but definite,Determination of 0.111 means that effect by 11%, and t test of 1,870, which means onlineshop socialnetworks significantly influence consumer behavior.Keywords: Online Shopping, Social Networking, Consumer Behavior

Abstract

Health warning labels on cigarette packs is very important as a means of communication andawareness of smokers of the health risks caused by smoking. By reading and seeing pictures of healthwarnings, with some warning messages of health and some disease the effects of smoking are listed onthe label of health warnings on cigarette packs every time they smoke, is expected to provide a greaterknowledge of the health effects of smoking, and may raise intention to quit smoking and thereforecontributes to the attitude of smokers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect ofcommunication messages on pictorial health warning labels on cigarette packs on the attitudes ofyoung smokers in the city of Surabaya. The minimum sample empirically determined as much as 96respondents using accidental sampling technique. Results of research and analysis with a simplelinear regression showed that a significant difference between the message communication onpictorial health warning labels on cigarette packs on the attitudes among young smokers in the city ofSurabaya. Contributions message communication on pictorial health warning labels on cigarettepacks on the attitudes of young smokers in the city of Surabaya is 47.6% of the remaining 52.4% isinfluenced by other variables not examined in this study, for example the influence of friends, lifestyle,etc.Keywords: communication messages, the attitude of young smokers

Abstract

The third gender identitie’s phenomenon called "transgender" causing the pros and contoversial,especially the Jombang’s societies having a negative stigma about the existence of transgender so it’sarising a discrimination conflict. Based on the observations of researcher, wanted to know the extent ofconflict resolution for the transgender in the Jombang’s societies that has labeled “Kota Santri”. HowStaramuda Communitie’s roles as a communicator to merge conflict negative stigma of transgender thatlives in Jombang societies having a dominant of Islamic culture, by using communicative approach. Thisresearch uses a qualitative research to describe and analyze the phenomena, incident, social activities,attitudes, perceptions and ideas between the transgender being protected by Staramuda and Jombangsociety. By using the method of “indepth interview” with the informants of Staramuda Community andthe transgender, indicate results some of the causes of conflict related to cultural communication. Firstly,the existence of transgender considered as a violation of culture. The second, the diversity for minoritiesgender isn’t complete yet, especially for the transgender. Reviewed from DeVito’s about culturalcommunication, Staramuda community have their own viewpoint about the existence of transgender thatthey are also part of society of “Kota Santri” Jombang, by using an attitude of open-mindness, positiveattitude could change a negative stigma, social support, emphaty, which raised the equality in the society.Keywords : cultural communication, cultural conflict, transgender

Abstract

The development of communication technology, especially in the mass media made public with easyaccess to any information. No exception to the radio, with the creation of a mobile application that canbe freely downloaded through the Android-based mobile or IOS, the radio business people hope this canbe a tool that allows listeners to access radio anywhere and anytime. The emergence of new media andnew habits effect on the mass media. To meet these objectives, used in-depth interviews with communitymembers she and friends. This study uses the basic theory of mass media effects .And the result of thisresearch is that the effect occurs in members she and friends while listening to She Radio 99.6 FM viamobile application is the addition of listening to a radio broadcast schedule, causing a feeling of comfort,and a member of she and friends is also more positive about She Radio. Habits member she and friendsin listening to the radio using the mobile application is on average duration of 2 hours/day at a time andplace to listen to the broadcast that is between 6:00 to 10:00 o'clock pm in the House, between the hoursof 21:00 to 23:00 pm in the House, and in the Office the time between the hours of 11:00 to 16:00 o’clockpm. The main reason the replacement of the radio channel to another is due to the quality of She Radiomobile application is still not good enough (often die suddenly). Abstract

The method used in this study is a qualitative research method of case studies. The case studiesfocus intensively on a particular object with a case study. Qualitative research aims to explain thephenomenon with deeply through data collection. The sampling technique in this research is the snowballtechnique ( snowball ). Through qualitative approach, data obtained from the field drawn conclusionsare specific to the general. Objects in the study were students of University August 17 Fisip Surabaya arestill active are 25 people. Observations made during the first month . Data collection techniques used inthis research is through field research and library research. And data analysis techniques used in thisresearch through data reduction, data display, draw conclusions and verification. The results showedthat the site facebook is a social media platforms are quite good and efficient. Very good role in socialkomuniikasi ie as source of information about friends , communities, groups and data sharing. Then interms of the economic benefits are not good enough but still no progress. facebook but as acommunication medium between friends can also as a medium to promote businesses . in education isquite minimal benefits from the data that the author did little is agreed that education has an importantrole in facebook. then from the social and cultural , social development is significant but the impact thatcaused the not too big for our culture.Keywords: opinion, students, social communications, facebook.

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of hazard warning on cigarette packs for disease asimpact on smoking among students at University of August 17, 1945 in Surabaya. Data collection wasdoing by spread questionnaires as many as 78 people respondents. Data analysis technique used wastechnique of correlation by Pearson’s product moment. The results showed that the correlation of theresults coefficient by - 0.296. This suggests that the negative relationship between warning the dangers ofsmoking to smokers behavior on August 17, 1945 students at the University of Surabaya. This negativerelationship means relations of "no strong enough", because the number of correlation coefficients wereobtained at intervals of -0.4 until –0.2. The results also showed that t count <-ttable (-2.6837 <-1.655) thenH0 is rejected or H1 is accepted, that there is a significant negative relationship between hazard warningson packs of cigarettestoward smokers’ behavior on students of University of August 17, 1945 in Surabaya.Keywords: warning, dangers, smoking, behaviour, cigarettes.

Abstract

Communication is done not only verbally but nonverbal communication often we use to deliver the message. Nonverbal communication is also used by autistic children to interact with their environment. The formulation of research problem is how nonverbal communication behavior of autistic children during the learning process in SMPN 46 Surabaya along with the meaning of nonverbal communication shown by children with autism are nonverbal communication during the learning process in SMPN 46 Surabaya and to categorize the meaning of nonverbal communication hehavior of an autistic child demonstrated during the learning process takes place that uses kinesics communication theory as a reference. The result of this study indicate that nonverbal communication shown by children with autism is very diverse. However, by using kinesic Theory of Communication as a reference it can be seen how nonverbal communication shown children with autism as well as the meaning of nonverbal communication that is shown by the autistics child. Technological developments in the aspect of communication and increasing competition,demand public relations to creatively invent and devise a strategy to communicate its brand throughthe internet. The existence and growth of PT. ISM Bogasari which is the largest wheat flour producerin Indonesia with a market share of 57% amid the development of communication technology andincreasing competition. Encourage interest in the author's research on public relations strategy PT.ISM Bogasari flour mills in meninggkatkan brand awareness. The theory used in this research ispublic relations management process Scot M Cutlip and Brand Awareness.Metode analysis used isMiles and models. Huberman. Based on the results of research conducted by the author, it can beconcluded that: lack of relationships with customers in and challenges of competitors becomes thebasis of the formation of the strategy. Through the medium of websites, twiter, facebook, you tube. PT.ISM Bogasari flour mills, assuring the market share on the product quality, by forming the productinformation into four major cyber media content, ie the content of recipes, tips content, content, SMEtestimony, and testimony BBC. Besides Markowitz such content, interactive (two-way communication)performed on twiter and facebook social media with the aim that the formation of relationships in thetarget market. Abstract

The situation in 1996 in Kalidami – Surabaya at that time a negative thingshappens like gets drunk, a gambling, and fights between the teenager, and it’s trigger theinteraction of local citizens to hold a positive activity in order to cope within. ThePresence of Hadrah activities by Al – Anshor groups at that time, can be said as theoccurrence of ' symbolic Interaction ' where hadrah musical itself became the symbolicthat agreed in a group and used to reach a common ground to shared meanings thatisreduce the bad things that happen in Kalidami.The interactions that occur within the group itself and outside groups bringingimprovements impact to the mindset of individual especially teenagers in Kalidami to getbetter understanding in Islamic religion through preaching and discussions thatpresented in their activity, its encourage significant changes and form the character ofeach self becomes better and realize to avoid having bad behavior. Abstract

Tourism T-shirt with unique and funny words of textual graphic design are found in manycities in Indonesia, however which make use of parikan oral tradition have not been found, so it isnecessary to start bravely a parikan design tourism t-shirt production. Many sources of parikan canbe exploited, the parikan of ludruk artist creation as well as from campursari song creators, classicparikan and plesetan, also erotic parikan of individual creators, sounded in shows as well asrecorded in cassettes, CD, DVD, and internet. There are varied parikan which can be explored as thesubject of tourism t-shirt graphic design, and every type has its own market target according totypography consideration and communication norms.
