Abstract

Creativity is part of 21st century skills so it needs to be had by students. Therefore, the study was conducted to identify the creativity of students who take Microbiology lectures on Traditional Biotechnology content with the Science-Technology-Religion-Engineering-Arts-Mathematics (STREAM) based learning. The pre-experimental method with one-shot case study design involved 43 students from 5th semester at one of university in Bandung determined purposively. Data were collected through student worksheets, product assessment sheets and scoring of practical reports. After being collected through instruments mentioned before, data were then processed using percentage and level of creativity skills in the product of their practical reports. The results of the study show that student creativity varies for each Traditional Biotechnology content. The results of the achievement of the highest values of creativity obtained by students on indicators of elaboration thinking with emerging levels and the lowest achievement with not yet evident levels in the originality thinking. STREAM-based learning can provide student creativity skills in Traditional Biotechnology content.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaranPDEODE (Predict-Discuss-Explain-Observe-Discuss-Explain) terhadap penguasaan konsep dansikap ilmiah siswa pada pembelajaran konsep pencemaran lingkungan. Jenis penelitian adalah quasiexperimental dengan desain non equivalent control goup pretest-posttest. Penelitian dilakukan disalah satu SMA Negeri di Bandung, terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Teknikpenentuan sampel dilakukan melalui cluster random sampling. Berdasarkan uji statistikaindependent t test , hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran PDEODE berpengaruhsecara signifikan terhadap peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa pada α0,05. Skor N-gain yangdidapatkan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berada pada kategori yang sama yakni kategorisedang,yakni 0,58 pada kelas eksperimen dan 0,43 pada kelas kontrol. Persentase sikap ilmiah padakelas eksperimen (83,13%%) lebih besar dibandingkan kelas kontro ((79,26%). Respon siswaterhadap pembelajaran PDEODE memberikan respon positif. Berdasarkan temuan dan hasilpenelitian ini, maka model pembelajaran PDEODE dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif modelpembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan di sekolah yang berpusat pada siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi sistempernapasan dengan penerapan pembelajaran brainstormingdan Pendekatan Sains 5M. Metodepenelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu weak experimentdengandesain penelitianstatic-group comparison design. Sampel penelitian menggunakan dua kelas (MIA-3 danMIA-4) yang memiliki kedudukan berbeda, kelas MIA-3 sebagai kelas perlakuan dan kelasMIA-4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengambilan data adalah soalpenguasaan konsep berbentuk pilihan ganda, angket respon siswa dan format lembarobservasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pencapaian penguasaan konsep baik pada kelasperlakuan maupaun pada kelas control yang tergolong sangat baik (86,1 dan 82,7).Pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran brainstorming berjalan dengan kualifikasi sangat baikdengan rata-rata tingkat keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran mencapai 89,4%. Siswamemberikan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran brainstorming pada materi sistem respirasi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of KWL strategy on students mastery of the material concept of ecosystems. The hypothesis of this study is the use of learning strategies KWL on ecosystem material and significant positive effect on students mastery of concepts.The method used was a quasi experimental design with control group design nonequivalen. In this study, the population was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Cileunyi. Samples were taken with a purposive sample, take two classes, namely the class as a class VII-A and VII-F experiment as a control class. Data collection techniques derived from the test (multiple choice) by 20 questions, and nontes (questionnaire and observation sheet). Data processing is done by t test analysis.Mastery of concepts students are learning to use 74.02 KWL strategy with good category, while in the class without using the KWL strategy 64.51 with enough categories. The results of the posttest t test at significance level of 0.05% obtained tcount 11.73> 1.67 ttable so Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. The response of students who use the KWL strategy 80.40 with a very strong category, whereas the class without using 74.41 KWL strategy with strong category. Feasibility study of teachers who use the KWL strategy 96.66% and 90.00% of students with a very strong category, while the teacher without using KWL strategy 96.00% and 80.00% of students with a very strong category. Based on the results of this study concluded that the strategy of Know-Want to know-Learned (KWL) and a significant positive effect on students mastery of the material concept of ecosystems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berawal dari observasi di SMPN 3 Pangandaran yang memperoleh databahwa kemampuan bertanya siswa kelas VII masih kurang. Menggunakan model quick on thedraw dan model picture and picture karena model pembelajaran ini mempunyai kelebihanmampu membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bertanya melalui gambar yangakan membantu siswa untuk mendapatkan pertanyaan.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untukmengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, menganalisis pertanyaan siswa melalui model quickon the draw dan model picture and picture pada sub materi ekosistem.Metode yangdigunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Deskriptif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kelas VII SMPN3 Pangandaran.Instrument yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi untuk mencatatpertanyaan – pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh siswa.Hasil analisis observasi aktivitaspembelajaran guru dengan menggunakan model quick on the draw mendapat nilai rata – rata9,07% sedangkan dengan menggunakan model picture and picture mendapatkan nilai 92,7%dan aktivitas pembelajaran siswa dengan menggunakan model quick on the draw mendapatnilai rata – rata 81,7% sedangkan dengan model picture and picture 87%. Pertanyaan siswasecara tertulis dengan model quick on the draw menunjukan presentase C1: 30,97%, C2:55,76%, C3: 13,25%,C4: 0% sedangkan dengan model picture and picture menunjukkanpresentase C1: 33,51%, C2: 53,07%, C3: 13,40%, dan C4: 0%. Dan berdasarkan pertanyaantertutup dan terbuka dengan menggunakan model quick on the draw memperoleh terbuka61,95% tertutup 38,04%, sedangkan dengan model picture and picture terbuka 56,98%tertutup 43,01%. Jadi pertanyaan yang paling banyak muncul yaitu pada jenjang kognitif C2(pemahaman). Dan perbandingan dilihat dari banyaknya soal yaitu lebih banyak pada modelPicture and Picture.

Abstract

Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mendeskripsikan  keterlaksanaan  model  inkuiri  terbimbing, menganalisis  kemampuan  berpikir  kreatif  siswa  pada  materi  sistem  ekskresi  dengan menggunakan  dan  tanpa  menggunakan  model  inkuiri  terbimbing,  menganalisis  pengaruh  dan respon model inkuiri terbimbing terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi sistem ekskresi. Penelitian  dilakukan  di kelas  XI MIA  1  dan  XI MIA  2 SMAN  1  Jalancagak  tahun ajaran 2015/2016.  Metode  penelitian  yang digunakan adalah  quasi  eksperiment dengan desain,  pretest  -  posttest  control  group  design.  Teknik  pengumpulan    data    yang    digunakan  adalah observasi, tes, dan kuesioner berupa angket. Hasil penelitian di kelas yang menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing menghasilkan nila rata-rata pretest 45,90, posttest 80,00, dan gain 33,86, kelas yang  tanpa menggunakan model  inkuiri terbimbing  menghasilkan  nilai  rata-rata  pretest 43,85, posttest  74,93  dan  gain  31,60.  Berdasarkan  uji  hipotesis  diperoleh  thitung  =  2,20  >  ttabel  1,99 dengan  a  sebesar  0,05  maka  H0  ditolak  dan  Ha  diterima.  Hal  ini  menunjukkan  bahwa pembelajaran model inkuiri terbimbing berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas XI pada materi sistem ekskresi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurang antusiasnya siswa dalam pembelajaran serta tidak maksimalnya pemanfaatan informasi belajar dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Selain itu, pembelajaran berbasis masalah belum pernah diterapkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, karena lingkungan di sekolah yang kurang memadai. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan tidak terlatihnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Instruction (PBI) pada materi pemanasan global. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 72 siswa kelas VII di SMPN 5 Cianjur dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tulis berupa soal-soal tes kemampuan berpikir kritis yang dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Data hasil angket skala sikap, lembar observasi dan wawancara dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata skor pretest kelas yang menggunakan model PBI pada materi pemanasan global yaitu 51,17; postest 72,44; dan N-gain 0,58 dengan kategori sedang, sedangkan kelas yang tanpa menggunakan model PBI pada materi pemanasan global memiliki skor rata-rata pretest 48,28; postest 61,42; dan N-gain 0,33 dengan kategori sedang. Persentase kinerja guru memperoleh rata-rata 97,5% dengan kategori sangat baik. Persentase aktivitas siswa memperoleh rata-rata 93,35% dengan kategori sangat baik. Respon siswa memperoleh nilai rata-rata 4,2 dengan kualifikasi tinggi. Berdasarkan uji statistik diperoleh Zhitung 3,72 > Ztabel  1,64 maka H0 ditolak. Dimana dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui penerapan model Problem Based Instruction pada materi pemanasan global.

Abstract

The study was conducted in class VII-Purwakarta MTsN Plered on ecosystems material. Based on direct observation and interviews with teachers in MTs.N Plered that the activity of the class students are less active, critical thinking skills of students in the lower grade and variation model of applied learning teacher less. So that students actively in class and increase students critical thinking skills used method Start Learning With A Question in the learning process. This study aims to determine the enforceability of the learning process by applying learning methods start with a question. Increasing students critical thinking skills, and student responses to learning using learning methods start with a question on the material ecosystem. The framework of this research that students are required to actively ask especially at the beginning of the learning process of the student asks a thought process that is carried out in order to solve the problems of students in learning. This learning process with such students will be active in class and critical thinking would be formed. Method Start Learning With A Question is an active learning method in asking, where students are directly involved in the learning process. Active asked at the beginning of the learning will stimulate students to think critically about the material to be conveyed. From the data processing gained an average of N-Gain increase students critical thinking skills in the experimental class 0.54 and the control class 0.49. To look significantly on the ability of critical thinking among students learning with Learning methods Start With A Question and without using the Start Learning With A Question presented through pretest and posttest values as well as the N-Gain. To prove this hypothesis significance test was used to test t nomalitas first tested and homogeneity. Because one of the data is not normal, the Mann-Whitney test. Based on the results of Mann-Whitney test scores N-Gain between the experimental class and the control class result that Zhitung> Ztabel. thus Zhitung> Ztabel ie 1.98> 1.65; Ho is rejected and Ha accepted meaning there is influence between the N-Gain pretest and posttest experimental class with N-Gain pretest and posttest control class. It can be concluded that there are significant learning method Start With A Question to increase students critical thinking skills in ecosystem material.

Abstract

The analysis result of student daily examination on biology study is still below the Minimum Criterion of Completeness (KKM).It indicate low motivation of students learning on biology subject, due to the dominant application of teacher-centered learning. The purpose of this study was to improve motivation and learning outcomes of Biology X-MIA students in MAS Ar-Rosyidiyah Cibiru Bandung, on 2017/2018 school year. The subjects of this study were X-MIA class students as much as 34 students, on biodiversity topic.The results showed that the application of learning outside the classroom in the school zone can increase motivation and learning outcomes of X-MIA students on biology. Student learning motivation in cycle I was 72,24% increased by 85,50% in cycle II. The result of cognitive domain in cycle I was 82,35% to 88,23% in cycle II, whereas learning result of student affective aspect in cycle I was increasing from 82,29% to 85,15% in cycle II.

Abstract

This research supported by the problems emerging in class xi mia sman 27 bandungbecause less increasing study results in learning biology students. To overcome theseproblems by using a learning process implemented learning model learning cycle5E. Thisstudy aimed to determine the effect of the Learning Cycle 5E model of application of theconcept of students abilities in the material of the nervous system as well as knowingketerlaksanaan process of learning by using learning model 5E learning cycle on the materialof the nervous system.The method used is Quasi-Experimental Design with a sample that isclass I and class XI XI MIA MIA II the number of students in each class of 30 students. Thesampling technique used was purposive sampling. Research instrument used was a set of testsand observation sheet. Analysis of study data including normality test, homogeneity test andtest hypotheses.Results of analysis keterlaksanaan learning process by using the learningcycle 5E model of the average values obtained 97.50% berkategorikan good enough for theactivities of teachers and 96% berkategorikan good enough for the student activity. Theresults showed that the application of the concept of students ability to use the learning cycle5E learning model obtained an average value of 44.56 initial test, the final test of 72.17, NGainof 0.50 berkategorikan being an indicator of high concept application that indicatorapplication of the material that has been learned within the family, school, community.Application of the concept of students abilities without using 5E learning cycle modelobtained an average value of 43.31 initial test, the final test 55.26, N 0.21 Gainberkategorikan-low, high-concept application indicators are indicators of the application ofthe material that has been studied in the environment family, school, community. Hypothesistest results at the end of the test Learning Cycle 5E learning model on the nervous systemmaterial obtained t 5.06> 1.69 ttable at significance level of 5%. Based on the results of thisstudy concluded that there are significant learning model Learning Cycle 5E on the ability ofthe students expressed significant application of concepts and hypotheses accepted.
