Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran TAI pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa pada topik kubus pada siswa kelas delapan SMP Negeri 1 Padang Bolak Julu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen (one group pretest post test design) dengan sampel 26 siswa dan diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dari 78 siswa. Observasi dan tes digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, ditemukan: (a) rata-rata menggunakan model pembelajaran TAI adalah 3,21 (kategori sangat baik) dan (b) rata-rata prestasi kubus siswa sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran TAI adalah 61,03 (kategori adil) dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran TAI adalah 88,76 (kategori sangat baik). Selanjutnya berdasarkan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan pair sample ttest, (SPSS versi 16) dan N-Gain, hasilnya menunjukkan nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 <0,05) dan g = 0,77 (efektif tinggi). Artinya, model pembelajaran TAI memiliki efektifitas tinggi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa pada topik kubus pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Padang Bolak Julu.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know whether using time token learning model based power point on students’ mathematical creative thinking ability on the topic of two variables linear equations system at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with 32 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 259 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) the average of using time token learning model based power point was 3.6 (very good category) and (b) students’ mathematical creative thinking ability on the topic of two variables linear equations system before using time token learning model based power point was 52.91 (fair category) and after using time token learning model based power point was 83,17 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, (SPSS version 17), the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, using time token learning model based power point was effective on students’ mathematical creative thinking ability on the topic of two variables linear equations system at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop AMP (Authentic Mathematical Problems) that are valid, practical, effective, and know the characteristics of AMP to improve critical thinking ability. This study uses a Research Based Design approach with discussion and analysis of problems, planning, repetitive cycles, and reflection. AMP were implemented using the IKRAR learning model (Initiation, Construction-Reconstruction, Application, and Reflection) with effective questions. The trial was conducted at SD N 1 Ubud involving fifth grade students and a teacher. The validity data was collected by conducting expert tests that were adjusted to the validity assessment instruments components of AMP. The practicality data was collected through questionnaires and observation sheets in learning activities then analyzed descriptively. The effectiveness data was collected through critical thinking ability tests consisting of AMP. The characteristics data of AMP was collected based on studies, physical form, and findings during the trials. The results show that the AMP in IKRAR learning to improve critical thinking ability are valid, practical, and effective. The characteristics of AMP are based on real life problems, can measure critical thinking ability, encourage students to be interested in determining solutions, train students to think divergently, and do not use presupposition words (for example: if, suppose, etc).

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the effectiveness of using flipped classroom learning model on the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts on the topic Phytagoras theorem at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with 25 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster sampling technique from 226 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) the average of using flipped classroom was 3.80 (good category) and (b) the average of the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts on the topic Phytagoras theorem before using AIR learning model was 68.00 (enough category) and after using AIR learning model was 87.00 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, (SPSS version 22), the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, using AIR was effective used on the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts on the topic Phytagoras theorem at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic of solid through using blended learning based on you tube of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying Class Action Research (CAR) with 25 students as the subject (class VIII-1 SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan). Instrument of the research was test and observation. The research consists of two cycles. The first cycle showed the average of test of the students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic of solid was 74.59 (48% students got passing grade) and the average of observation sheets showed 87.53 (very good category). Furthermore, the second cycle showed the average of the test was 86.24 (88% students got passing grade) and the average of observation sheets was 94.42 (very good category). It’s concluded blended learning based on you tube was able to improve students’ problem solving ability of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the effectiveness of using flipped classroom learning model on students' critical mathematical thinking ability of SMP Negeri 1 Angkola. The research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with 30 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 180 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) the average of using flipped classroom was 3.67 (good category) and (b) the average of students' critical mathematical thinking ability before using flipped classroom learning model was 50.53 (fair category) and after using 88.40 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, (SPSS version 22), the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, using flipped classroom learning model was effective on students' critical mathematical thinking ability of SMP Negeri 1 Angkola.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran kontekstual pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa pada topik teorema Pythagoras pada siswa kelas delapan SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen (one group pretest post test design) dengan 27 siswa sebagai sampel dan mereka diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dari 167 siswa. Observasi dan tes digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, ditemukan: (a) rata-rata menggunakan model pembelajaran kontekstual adalah 3,85 (kategori sangat baik) dan (b) kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa pada topik teorema Pythagoras sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran kontekstual adalah 53,77 (kategori kurang) dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran kontekstual adalah 82,28 (kategori sangat baik). Selanjutnya, berdasarkan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan pair sample ttest, (SPSS versi 22) dan formulasi N-gain, hasilnya menunjukkan nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 <0,05) dan g = 0,74 (kategori tinggi). Artinya, menggunakan model pembelajaran kontekstual sangat efektif digunakan pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa pada topik teorema Pythagoras pada siswa kelas delapan SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah menggunakan model pembelajaran NHT efektif pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa dengan topik sistem persamaan linear dua variabel pada siswa kelas delapan SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen (one group pretest post test design) dengan 25 siswa sebagai sampel dan mereka diambil dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling dari 169 siswa. Observasi dan tes digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, ditemukan: (a) rata-rata menggunakan model pembelajaran NHT adalah 3,83 (kategori sangat baik) dan (b) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa dengan topik sistim persamaan linear dua variabel sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran NHT adalah 50,88 (kategori sedang) dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran NHT adalah 79,76 (kategori sangat baik). Selanjutnya, berdasarkan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan pair sample ttest, (SPSS versi 17), hasilnya menunjukkan nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 <0,05). Artinya, model pembelajaran NHT efektif digunakan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada topik sistem persamaan linear dua variabel pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen (one group pretest post test design) dengan 28 siswa sebagai sampel dan diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dari 259 siswa. Observasi dan tes digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, ditemukan: (a) rata-rata menggunakan model pembelajaran GI adalah 3,18 (kategori sangat baik) dan (b) rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada topik kubus sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran GI adalah 62,38. (kategori cukup) dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran GI adalah 81,07 (kategori sangat baik). Selanjutnya,tes, (SPSS versi 22), hasilnya menunjukkan nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 <0,05). Artinya, menggunakan model pembelajaran GI efektif digunakan pada kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada topik kubus pada siswa kelas delapan SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ mathematical problem solving ability through realistic mathematic learning approach on the topic of the theorem of Phytagoras at the eighth grade students. The research was conducted by applying Class Action Research (CAR) with 25 students as the subject. Instrument of the research was test and observation. The research consists of two cycles. The first cycle showed (a) the test showed the students’ achievement of the theorem of Phytagoras was 47.02 (enough category) and (b) the questionnaire showed the average of students’ activities was 89.29 (high category). Furthermore, the second cycle showed (a) the test showed the students’ achievement of the theorem of Phytagoras 85.48 (very good category) and (b) the questionnaire showed the average of students’ activities was 96.42 (very high category). It’s concluded realistic mathematic learning approach was able to improve students’ mathematic mathematical problem solving ability through realistic mathematic learning approach on the topic of the theorem of Phytagoras at the eighth grade students.
