Abstract

Museum experiences a paradigm shift from the traditional museum into a modern museum then post-modern museum which gave birth to the movement of the eco-museum. As a museum established in the modern era, Museum Sri Baduga needs to adjust to the new paradigm of museology. The focus of this study is to find the suitability of the museum Sri Baduga current principles with the principles of eco-museum both physical and managerial aspects of the museum and what changes should be madeto achieve the ideal eco-museum. Methods of data collection is done with literature study and field observation. Methods of data analysis is conducted qualitatively by using the Eco-museum guidance indicator of Corsane Gerard (2006. The presentation method of data analysis is done informally in the form of a narrative. The findings in this study are the strengths and opportunities that are owned by the museum Sri Baduga to meet the principles of eco-museum that cannot be completed at this time. Abstract

Gandari Menjelaga is a dance drama taken from wayang story, that is Epos Mahabarata. This is a dance composition telling about a female character named Gandari, the daughter of King Prabu Subala of Gandara’s Kingdom. She should sacrifice her beauty by covering her eyes with white cloth as her loyalty to her fate. The concept of this work describes a self-denial of a woman toward her life. The combination of traditional and contemporary dance becomes the main element in producing the dance drama. The dramatic structure is arranged into four scenes whose settings are in the Gandara Kingdom Gate, in Gandara Palace, and in Dewi Gandari’s Courtyard. Abstract

This study is aimed at revealing the process of the Sacredness of Ritual Sedekah Bumi in Kramat Batok, Bekasi. The study is done toward the structure of the ritual and the sacred elements of Batok sacred tomb, the offerings, ronggeng, masks, shadow puppets, a winding paddy (pocong padi) and buffalo slaughtering. This is to find out how people perceive the phenomena. The analysis of the sacredness uses Mircea Eliade’s view of sacredness and Victor Turner’s point on symbolic form. It is found out that the ways in which the community carries out its meaning are influenced by the social facts of the dominance of buhun (ancient) Sundanese culture, Pre-Islam and Hindu-Buddhist in the lives of Kramat Batok people for generations as a legacy from their ancestors.The analysis applying Jacob sumardjo’s proposition on paradox esthetic shows the harmony understanding between two contrary entities but completing each other. This is formulated as the three of Sundanese people, Tritangtu. The qualitative observation method is used in recording the activities of Kramat Batok community. By conducting interviews, field studies, literature studies and documentation studies, it is known that the Ritual Sedekah Bumi is a paradoxical cultural phenomenon in Kramat Batok community. This is because of the dualism belief in the system of thinking of the people, namely believing in the existence of Islam and its karuhun. The Sacredness of Ritual Sedekah Bumi has become part of the cycle of cultural events. This is as a form of expression of gratitute for the harvest. The ritual shows the primordial view of Kramat Batok community which is passed down from generation to generation, making the ritual activities maintained until todays.Keywords: Ritual, Sacred, Ngukup, Sedekah Bumi

Abstract

Expressions in the imagination process of making fine art works naturally have a positive impact on children's intellectual, emotional, creative and social development. In this case, art activities are associated with mental health because art activities are a medium for expressing feelings, either sad or happy ones. In drawing activities there is a process of imagination with the innocence of children. Through a unique image, even with minimal knowledge of drawing and coloring techniques, children still produce interesting works. The approach used is the Psychology of Imagination from Jean Paul Satre and Iconology from Erwin Panofsky. The research method used is a qualitative with participatory methods letting children play and express themselves without being directed and commanded. The drawings that TPA An-Nawawi children produced shows that the work uses four images according to Jean Paul Satre: images of consciousness, images of spontaneity, images of imitation, and mental images.Keywords: Imagination, Creativity, Child Image

Abstract

The focus of the study is on how the process of fi lmmaker in producing his works. Especially on the technology of silent fi lm to become the cinematic techniques in visualizing the present fi lms. Narratively, this study analyzes the small portion of the fi lm through coding system, namely, descriptive code and interpretative code in order to obtain the pa" ern of the codes. Meanwhile, the use of silent fi lm techniques is also analyzed technically.The narrative aspect of The Artist visualizes the actor of silent fi lm in his up and down moments. Narratively, the plot of this fi lm moves regarding with the lives of the main character (George Valentin). The cinematic aspect applies silent fi lm technique. One of them is seen through the black and white coloring. The coloring technique is signifi cant to build the atmosphere and the tone of the fi lm. The technique of this silent fi lm is the milestone for the emergence of the style of silent fi lm which becomes the model mode in producing fi lm.Keywords: silent fi lm technique, The Artist fi lm, narrative, cinematic

Abstract

Upcycle woven fabric is an innovation product applying upcycling concept produced by CV Tarum Bali. The eminence of this product is the using of natural dye which increases the selling value. This is interesting to be studied because of the uniqueness of color and motif of the product. The method applied in this study is qualitative. The samples are determined based on purposive sampling, while the data are collected from observation, interview, and documentation. The result shows that the natural dyes used for the upcycle are as follows: the leaves of mahogany tree for brown color; blackfrom the leaves of ketapang tree; yellow from the leaves of mango tree; red from the log of secang tree; indigo or blue from the leaves of tarum. The colors usually applied for upcycle woven fabric tend to be lightcolor which is not easily faded. The motif of the upcycle is usually the order of horizontal lines. The motif emerges from the crossing between lungsi yarn and rag strings. The motif arrangement of the upcycle is either the repetition of form, direction, sixe, or color which considers the composition, balance, and rythm. The motif of horizontal lines is compounded by the repetition of rythm and transition to reach formal balance. Abstract

Nirmana dwi matra as one and the basis for the introduction of works of art into works is still rare but is in demand by the public. It is an interesting visualization but it is difficult to understand the meaning or meaning in the work of nirmana dwi matra. The various types of nirmana dwi matra works with visualization going hand in hand with certain goals have led to an increase in people’s insight into the work of nirmana dwi matra. Through this research, using descriptive analysis method, through art theory and classification, nirmana dwi matra has the potential to become an expert in the form of material, aesthetics, imagination, color harmonization, crossing the concept of performance, recording media, and visualization.Keywords: expert, aesthetics, imagination, nirmana, art, color.

Abstract

A song is one of the universal human products. As the work of art, a folk song is rarely appreciated by the public. However, it saves signifcance which can certainly be applied for the beneft of education. The research tries to disclose three children Sundanese songs, they are, ucang-ucang angge, cing caripit kajapit, and oray-orayan. The lyrics and the song embody the creativity that can help children learning. Abstract

The interesting aspect of various architectural works of Wolff Schoemaker in Bandung city is the interaction between the sphere of Western and Eastern influence expressing full Indonesian ornamentation. This can be seen in the use of Kala’s head in the Landmark building. The figure is depicted with a face without a lower jaw placed on the building through a symmetrical shape, but with a dynamic ornament. The purpose of this research is to examine the meaning and influence of Kala’s head in Schoemaker’s architecture. This study is qualitative research using descriptive analysis methods. It explains the conception of the times in terms of form, characteristics and their translation in the myths of Javanese society. It was adopted in colonial buildings which made a cultural acculturation in architecture. The results of the analysis show that the Kala ornament in the building is influenced by the shape of the temples in the Central Java period. It has an identical shape to the Kala at the Gedong Songo temple and the Semar temple functioning as an antidote to negativity in the building.Keywords: Ornaments, Architecture, Kala, Wolff Shoemaker

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif melalui pendekatan teori Semiotika dari Peirce. Tujuan utama studi ini adalah menganalisis, merancang media promosi dan identitas visual dalam mengembangkan segmentasi pasar dan dikenal sebagai industri kerajinan daerah Desa Ketanen Gresik dalam dua tahun ini. Berdasarkan teri dam metoda yang digunakan, maka Hasil penelitiannya berupa redesain visual logo yang lebih modern, yang mampu mengikuti trend serta memiliki daya saing. Penentuan media promosi mempertimbangkan kemudahan konsumen untuk mengenal produk yang dihasilkan. Penerapan media kartu nama sebagai identitas produk, brosur sebagai pengenalan kualitas produk dan website sebagai penguat identitas produk. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, studi pustaka, dan wawancara. Objek yang didapat adalah data-data dari hasil Seiring kemajuan jaman di era 4.0, khususnya sektor industri yang cukup pesat perkembangannya, yakni industri kerajinan tersebut belum mampu menembus pasar global.  Dengan demikian memberikan peluang bagi para pelaku industri khususnya perajin dengan produk kerajinannya yang termasuk pada sub sektor industri kreatif yakni salah satunya adalah  Desa Ketanen, Panceng, Gresik yakni  daerah yang membangun industri kerajinan local. Aspek visual, logo masih belum menunjukkan kepribadian dan jiwa KIK. Dengan demikian diperlukan redesain logo yang memiliki kekuatan dalam hal penyampaian pesan, mengubah persepsi dan membangun pencitraan sebagai industri kerajinan tongkol jagung. Kata Kunci: redesain, logo, citra produk, media promosi, kerajinan
