Abstract

Abstract Reform is a change that exists at a time in society or the State in all fields whether it is political, legal, economic, and social. Political reform is a drastic change for improvement in politics. In Indonesia, many have experienced changes in politics, one of them is in the implementation of the general election. The Indonesian nation has eleven election times, with every execution having differences. Elections are a process of selecting people who will occupy the seat of government. This general election is held to create a democratic State, where the leaders are selected by majority vote. Elections are held periodically as a means of democracy that will give birth to the sovereignty of the people as the core in the life of the state. The general election followed by the people is very important for the effectiveness of the organization. Elections using district and proportional systems are excellent for implementation in Indonesia since the Indonesian nation consists of several islands. The problem studied in this research is how the implementation of elections in Indonesia during the reform period and what Kendaa-obstacles facing elections during the reform era. In the process of collecting data to complete this research, the authors use the study of documentation and literature. Based on the analysis conducted through documentation and literature techniques, then in the implementation of elections during the reform era has many changes. At the time of liberation reform every person founded the party caused the number of parties during the reform period. This freedom also led to a number of dark campaigns that prevented the people from participating in a better change of government with all their heart. Such problems are still very difficult to avoid during the reform period. Elections during the reform period are also not as smooth as expected, because there are many political actors who only think about their personal interests and their party.Keywords: Political Reform, General Election, Reform Era Abstrak Reformasi merupakan perubahan yag ada pada suatu masa di masyarakat atau Negara dalam segala bidang baik itu politik, hukum, ekonomi, maupun sosial. Reformasi politik adalah perubahan secara drastis untuk perbaikan dalam bidang politik. Di Indonesia telah banyak yang mengalami perubahan dalam politik salah satunya adalah dalam  pelaksanaan pemilihan umum. Bangsa Indonesia telah banyak sebelas kali melaksanaan pemilihan umum, dengan setiap pelaksanaaannya memiliki perbedaan. Pemilihan umum adalah suatu proses untuk memilih orang-orang yang akan menduduki kursi pemerintahan. Pemilihan umum ini diadakan untuk mewujudkan Negara yang demokrasi, dimana para pemimpinyya dipilih berdasarkan suara terbanyak. Pemilihan umum diselenggarakan secara berkala sebagai sarana demokrasi yang akan melahirkan kedaulatan rakyat sebagai inti dalam kehidupan bernegara. Pemilihan umum yang diikuti oleh rakyatnya sangat penting untuk efektifitas penyelenggaraan negranya. Pemilihan umum yang menggunakan sistim distrik dan proporsional sangat bagus untuk diterapkan di Indonesia berhubung bangsa Indonesia terdiri dari beberap pulau. Masalah yang diteliti dalam peneliitian ini yaitu bagaimana pelaksanaan pemilihan umum di Indonesia pada masa reformasi dan apa Kendaa-kendala yang dihadapi pemilihan umum dimasa reformasi. Dalam proses pengumpulan data untuk menyelesaikan penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan tehnik studi dokumentasi dan kepustakaan. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan melalui tehnik dokumentasi dan kepustakaan, maka dalam pelaksanaan pemilihan umum pada masa reformasi telah banyak perubahan. Pada masa reformasi kebebasan setiap orang mendirikan partai menimbulkan banyaknya partai pada masa reformasi. Kebebasan ini juga menyebabkan banyaknya kampanye gelap yang menghalang rakyat untuk berpartisipasi dalam mengubah pemerintahan lebih baik dengan sepenuh hati. Masalah-masalh yang seperti inilah masih sangat sulit dihindar pada masa reformasi. Pemilihan umum pada masa reformasi juga tidak berjalaan mulus sesuai yang dicita-citakan, karena banyaknya pelaku-pelaku politik yang hanya memikirkan kepentingan  pribadi dan partainya.Kata kunci : Reformasi Politik, Pemilihan Umum, Era Reformasi

Abstract

Abstract. Language interpreting is the intellectual activity of facilitating oral and sign language communication, either simultaneously or consecutively, between two or more users of different languages. The process of interpreting involves attending the message, concentrating on the task at hand, remembering the message, comprehend the meaning of the message, analyzing the meaning for the message, and visualizing the message non-verbally in which finally reformulating the message in the target language. The aim of this research is to analyze the process of conveying message from the speaker to the hearer in consecutive interpreting at SMK Dwijendra. This is a qualitative type of research. The collected data was presented in descriptive narrative explanatory. As the results, the interpreter at SMK Dwijendra had understood the system in conducting consecutive interpreting. She applied the note taking technique during the interpreting process. Even though, her facial expression while conducting note taking expressed her confusion in finding the equivalent interpretation. Because of repetition, she could keep on track and did not out of frame in interpreting the speakerâ??s utterances as she was confused to organized the speakerâ??s utterances systematically as opening, main or conclusion statement and frequently loss the information.            Key words: Consecutive Interpreting; Interpreter; Messages

Abstract

Abstract             The recent study aims at investigating the effect of using â??Footstep Strategyâ? upon the studentsâ?? descriptive writing achievement of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja in the academic year 2015/2016. To acquire the above aim of the study, a posttest only control group design was taken as the research design of the present study. The study took place in SMP N 5 Singaraja. The population was all the seventh grade students of SMP N 5 Singaraja. Based on the result of cluster random sampling, the researcher took class VIIB and VIIC as the sample of the study. Class VIIB was determined as the experimental group and VIIC as the control group. Both groups consisted of 36 students. The students of experimental group were taught to write with the guidance of â??Footstep Strategyâ?, while the control group was taught by â??conventional writing techniqueâ?. At the end of the experimental period, the groups were given a posttest. The result of the data analysis showed that students who were taught by using the Footstep Strategy performed better achievement that those who were taught by implementing conventional writing technique. It was shown from the mean score of the experimental group which was 75.19 and the mean score of control group was 65.00. Moreover, the result of t-test analysis showed that the to was 5.000. It was higher than the value of tcv at 1.96 (α=0.05). It indicated that the difference between the two groups was significant. In this case, the null hypothesis was rejected. In other words, there is a significant difference in the writing achievement of the seventh grade students of SMP N 5 Singaraja taught by using footstep strategy and those taught by using conventional writing technique. Keywords: Footstep strategy, descriptive writing, studentsâ?? writing achievement.

Abstract

ABSTRACT            English language is an International language. Every country has to learn it in order to ease the communication among countries. The English language teaching is also given for those who has serious problem with their acoustic medium. This research is aimed to investigate and analyze the effective and appropriate English language teaching methodology used by the teacher in SLB.B Sidakarya, Denpasar- Bali. The field work research was conducted to obtain the data in SLB.B Sidakarya Denpasar. The data was analyzed qualitatively and presented in descriptive and narrative ways. The methodology and techniques in teaching English language for the hearing-impaired students seem to be different from the normal one, hence the teacher has to apply the effective and appropriate methodology and techniques in order to ease them comprehending the English language. Regarding the disability of the hearing-impaired students, the teacher had to use sign language and total body movement to support the methodology and techniques in English language teaching.Key words: English language, methodology, technique

Abstract

AbstractThis study is aimed at describing Communication Strategies used by Junior High School English teachers in SMP N 2 Sukawati. It includes kinds of Communication Strategies, the reasons of the use of Communication Strategies and the studentsâ?? perception toward Communication Strategies used by the teachers. The subjects of this study were Junior High School English teachers of the seventh and eighth grades of SMP Negeri 2 Sukawati. The data were collected by using some instruments namely observation sheet, questionnaire and interview guide. The kinds of Communication Strategies were gathered by observing and recording the teacher during teaching and learning process, while the questionnaire was used to investigate the studentsâ?? perception toward the Communication Strategies used by the teachers. The results of this study showed that there were 14 kinds of Communication Strategies used by the teachers. Code switching strategy was the most frequently used by the teachers. It occurred for 35 times in teaching and learning process. The reasons of the teachers used those strategies were to improve the studentsâ?? speaking abilities during teaching and learning process, and made them understood the material. The data also showed that the teachers got positive perception from their students in applying Communication Strategies during teaching and learning process.Keywords: Communication Strategies, English teacher, teaching and learning process

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed at investigating whether or not there was any significant effect of SAVI technique upon the reading comprehension achievement of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Singaraja. On the basis of the purpose of the study, there was a null hypothesis formulated. The sampling technique used in this study was cluster random sampling. Two classes: VIII.C3 and VIII.C5 were selected as the samples of study. Class VIII.C3 was selected as the experimental group and VIII.C5 was selected as the control group. Each class consists of 41 students. In this study, the data were obtained by conducting reading comprehension test: normality and homogeneity test, try-out test, and posttest. The obtain data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics. From the descriptive analysis, it was found out that the mean score for the group using SAVI technique was 7.78 while the group using Conventional Reading technique was 7.18. It means that SAVI technique was better than Conventional Reading technique.  The result of inferential statistic shows that to (2.13) more than tcv (1.98). Berdasarkan tujuan penelitian tersebut, ada hipotesis null yang diformulasikan. Teknik sample yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Cluster Random Sampling. Ada dua kelas yang dipilih sebagai sampel yakni kelas VIII.C3 dan VIII.C5. Kelas VIII.C3 dipilih sebagai grup eksperimen sedangkan VIII.C5 dipilih sebagai grup control. Tiap kelas terdiri dari 41 orang siswa. Pada penelitian ini, data yang didapat dianalisa melalui descriptive dan inferential statistics. Dari analisis deskriptif ditemukan bahwa skor mean untuk grup yang menggunakan teknik SAVI adalah 7.78, sedangkan grup yang menggunakan teknik Reading konvensional adalah 7.18. ini berarti teknik SAVI lebih baik daripada teknik Reading konvensional. Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this study is to develop the supplementary English teaching materials for the tenth year students of SMA PGRI 6 Denpasar in implementing Curriculum 2013. In this study, the model of Research and Development by Sugiono was employed as the research procedures. From those procedures, new materials were developed, analyzed by experts, revised, field-tested, analyzed, and finally produced. The data were collected by using several instruments namely rubric and questionnaire which was taken from the criteria of a good material by Tomlinson and BSNP. The rubric was filled by the expert judgments and teacher, while the questionnaire was filled by teacher and students. In addition, the pretest and posttest were also conducted. The result of pretestâ??s mean score was 79.08. Then the mean score of posttest was 86.58. It shows that the result of posttestâ??s mean score is higher than pretestâ??s mean score. The result of this study shows that the supplementary English teaching materials which was developed by researcher is effective to be used for teaching English in implementing curriculum 2013. In conclusion, the supplementary English teaching materials are suitable to be used for the tenth year students of SMA PGRI 6 Denpasar in implementing curriculum 2013.Key words: Supplementary, English Teaching Materials, Curriculum 2013 AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi pelengkap pengajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk siswa kelas sepuluh SMA PGRI 6 Denpasar dalam mengimplementasikan Kurikulum 2013. Pada penelitian ini, Model Penelitian dan Pengembangan dari Sugiono dipakai sebagai prosedur penelitian. Dari prosedur-prosedur tersebut, materi-materi baru dikembangkan, dianalisa oleh para ahli, direvisi, di tes di lapangan, dianalisa, dan terakhir diproduksi. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan beberapa instrument yang bernama rubric dan kuesioner yang diambil dari Kriteria materi yang baik berdasarkan Tomlinson and BSNP. Rubrik tersebut diisi oleh pakar ahli dan guru, sedangkan kuesioner diisi olehguru dan siswa. Selain itu, juga diadakan pretest dan posttest. Hasil skor mean dari prestest adalah 79.08, sedangkan skor mean dari posttest adalah 86.58. Ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil skor mean dari posttest lebih tinggi dari skor mean pretest. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa materi pelengkap pengajaran Bahasa Inggris yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti efektif digunakan untuk mengajar Bahasa Inggris dalam pengimplementasian Kurikulum 2013. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa materi pelengkap pengajaran Bahasa Inggris ini cocok digunakan untuk siswa kelas sepuluh SMA PGRI 6 Denpasar dalam mengimplementasikan Kurikulum 2013.Kata Kunci: Pelengkap, Materi Pengajaran Bahasa Inggris, Kurikulum 2013.

AbstractThis research aimed at investigating whether or not there was any significant effect of Neurological Impress Method upon Reading Comprehension Achievement of Tenth Grade Students of SMA PGRI 6 Denpasar in Academic Year 2016/2017. Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh sebuah keinginan untuk mengetahui efektivitas kegiatan pasraman kilat terhadap pengembangan nilai-nilai karakter anak di Desa Pakraman Selanbawak. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, maka tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) Mendeskripsikan profil eksistensi pelaksanaan pesrman kilat tingkat dasar. (2) Mengelaborasi nilai-nilai karakter pada anak-anak peserta pasraman kilat tingkat dasar. (3) Menganalisis efektifitas pengembangan nilai-nilai karakter pada anak-anak peserta pasraman kilat tingkat dasar di Desa Pasraman Selanabwak. (4) Menganalisis kendala-kendala yang dihadapi. Jenis Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 91 orang. Lokasi penelitian dilaksnakan di Desa Pakraman Selnbawak. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen kuisioner, wawancara, dan observasi di lapanagan. Keseluruhan data yang diperoleh kemudian dideskripsikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa:  (1)  Eksistensi pelaksanaan pesrman kilat tingkat dasar di Desa Pekraman Selanbawak ditentukan oleh faktor pendanaan kegiatan yang bersumber dari dana BKK provinsi,  telah memiliki tujuan yang jelas untuk memberdayakan generasi muda yang berkualitas, serta dukungan stakehoder yang sangat solid, (2) Elaborasi nilai-nilai karakter pada kegiatan pasraman kilat dikembangkan melalui pendekatan dharma wacana, dharma tula, dharma gita dan dharma kria, (3) Pelaksanaan kegiatan pasraman kilat memiliki efektifitas yang tinngi terhadap pengembangan nilai-nilai karakter pada para pesertanya. (4) Terdapat beberapa kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pasraman kilat. Kata kunci: Pasraman Kilat, Nilai-nilai Karakter, Desa Selanbawak.  AbstractThis research is motivated by a desire to know the effectiveness of pasraman flash activities towards the development of children character values in Desa Pakraman Selanbawak. Based on this background, the purpose of this study is to (1) Describe the existence profile profile of the basic lightning fastener. (2) Elaborate on the character values of the participants of the basic lightning-level participants. (3) Analyzing the effectiveness of developing character values in children of elementary lightning pasraman at Pasraman Selanabwak Village. (4) Analyzing the constraints faced. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research with a total sample of 91 people. The research location is done in Desa Pakraman Selnbawak. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, interviews, and observations in the field. The entire data obtained is then described. The result of the research shows that: (1) Existence of the implementation of basic lightning pesrman in Pekraman Selanbawak Village is determined by funding factor of activity sourced from provincial  fund, has a clear goal to empower the qualified young generation, and support very solid stakeholders, 2) Elaboration of character values in lightning pasraman activities developed through the approach of dharma discourse, dharma tula, dharma gita and dharma kria, (3) Implementation of pasraman kilat activity has high effectiveness towards the development of character values on the participants. (4) There are several obstacles faced in the implementation of activities pasraman flash. Keywords: Pasraman Kilat, Character Values, Selanbawak Village.

Abstract

Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) memiliki peranan yang strategis dalam mengenalkan dan menanamkan prinsip demokrasi, semangat kebangsaan, dan ikut serta membina karakter bangsa (Nation and Character Building). Dengan melaksanakan PKn dalam arti luas (Citizenship Education) yang mencakup sasaran dalam dunia pendidikan formal melalui school civic education dan masyarakat luas (Community Civic Education) (Rahmat, 2009:31). Aspek PKn yang mencakup pengetahuan kewarganegaraan, ketrampilan kewarganegaraan, dan watak/karakter kewarganegaraan, merupakan hal yang substantif dan esensial dalam pembelajaran PKn. Kompetensi watak atau karakter adalah suatu muara dari pengembangan kompetensi sebelumnya (pengetahuan dan ketrampilan). Pendidikan dan pengembangan karakter di beberapa Negara sudah menjadi suatu prioritas sejak pendidikan usia dini dimulai.  Dengan melihat visi-misi PKn, karakteristik, tujuan dari PKn, maka dengan kolaborasi yang baik dalam pelaksanaan pendiidkan formal maka suatu kelompok masyarakat akan mampu menggerakan komponen di dalamnya menunjang terbentuknya karakter warga bangsa yang baik (Good Citizenship).Kata Kunci : PKn, dan Karakter
