Abstract

Management of learning media is a part of efforts to improve the quality of education. As for the indicators that must be considered in the management of learning media especially: planning instructional media, organizing media, learning media management, evaluating media of the school, it is expected that the preparation of media programs can run effectively with the learning programs that have been made so that it can contribute positively to learning. The learning media management process must go hand in hand with school programs, it is necessary to manage a management of learning media in elementary school that is responsible for administering all activities related to learning media management, understanding of media management is important for the officer in planning media programs, classification of media, the grouping of media based on the condition of each school or based on certain subjects so that the media can be used optimally in the classroom or in out door class. Supervision should be carried out programmatically by the school principal and personnel at the relevant agencies of the district and district level offices are expected to be input of increasing the development of learning media management n the next year.

Abstract

Primary school age is the age of child growing that is the most important part of life. Children are like a sheet of white paper that will hold, and then saveall the scratches that are written on the paper. Likewise, children's memories, what children see will be stored in memory and will be imitated or even madeinto habits in life; this habit will grow into a character of the child later. In the Big Indonesian Dictionary, characters are interpreted as behavior or habits. Therefore, character becomes a very important thing to determine how a person behaves. The factors of character growth in child it self cannot beseparated from the role of parents and teachers as a major source of the role models for children. Errors in educating students that caused by the teachers can be dangerous for the process of children’s mental development. Of course, it will affect the character of the child. One of the bases for educating children is through courage, courage to be honest and courageous to speak up expressing things that become obstacles for children. Speaking skills are one of the media to build brave characters in elementary school-age children, by raising the ability to speak so that the child's mentality will be trained bravely. Especially, brave in expressing things or opinions that the children have from an early age. Therefore, it is hoped that intelligent, skilled, and brave generations will grow and have a strong character base in elementary school age children.

Abstract

Translation is a compulsory subject which must be mastered by the sixth semester students of STKIP Muhammadiyah Kotabumi, by mastering this course, they automatically also must master the mastery of English vocabulary and grammar. One of the ways done by lecturer in improving the ability to translate Indonesian into English and vice versa by the application of group work technique, in this case before learning begins the lecturer needs to prepare a syllabus, semester learning plan, teaching materials, and also the media used by lecturer in the learning process of translation courses. The first step taken by the lecturer in this case is Plan, while in the main activity through group work technique, the lecturer asks students to make groups of 3 to 4 students to translate the text given by the lecturer, when they are finished, the lecturer checks the results of the group by submitting the answers or also discussed together, other ways of group work is in pairs. The lecturer also gives appreciation to each group that can answer correctly; at this stage the lecturer also observes the learning process of students. The last stage is reflection, at this stage the lecturer presents the findings during the learning process, this aims to improve the learning process in the next stage is better and increased.

Abstract

Mass media is part of public space which cannot be seen as a mere passive hegemony. The discourse constructed by Tempo magazine reporters through Indonesiana is not completely neutral or naturally reporting news about corruption, and violations of the law. However, it has been influenced by the ideas or viewpoints of text writers (journalists) in responding to the events constructed in their reporting. This paper aims to show how the Fairclough text analysis tools work in dissecting dubious media texts. Media masa merupakan bagian dari ruang publik yang tidak dapat dilihat sebagai alat hegemoni yang bersifat pasif semata. Wacana yang dikonstruksikan oleh wartawan majalah Tempo melalui Indonesiana tidak sepenuhnya netral atau alami melaporkan berita tentang korupsi, dan pelangggaran-pelanggaran hukum. Akan tetapi, telah dipengaruh oleh ide-ide atau sudut pandang penulis teks (wartawan) dalam menyingkapi peristiwa yang dikonstruksikan di dalam pemberitaannya. Tulisan ini memiliki tujuan untuk menunjukkan bagaimana alat-alat analisis teks model Fairclough bekerja dalam membedah teks-teks media yang dianggap meragukan.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing banyak dipengaruhi oleh faktor baik internal maupun eksternal. Salah satu faktor internal yang berasaldari diri siswa yakni sikap yang direfleksikan siswa melalui tingkah laku mereka dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di kelas. Bagaimana sikap yangditampilkan siswa akan menentukan tingkah laku, tindakan, dan keterlibatan siswa di dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga berujung pada tingkat pemahamansiswa atau kesuksesan siswa dalam mempelajari suatu materi. Oleh karenanya, agar dapat mengimplementasikan sebuah strategi yang baik, seorang gurupenting untuk mengukur atau megetahui bagaimana sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang diimplementasikan sehingga akan menjadi bahan refleksi bagi guru untuk menentukan strategi yang akan diimplementasikan dalam rangka pencapaian target pembelajaran. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang akan menyelidiki sikap siswa terhapap pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris menggunakan metode observasi. Subjek penelitian yakni kelas X IPA 5 diSMAN 1 Abung Semuli yang terdiri dari 32 orang. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan selama 8 (delapan) pertemuan diketahui bahwa siswa kelas X IPA 5 di SMAN 1 Abung Semuli merefleksikan sikap positif terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Oleh karenanya, disarankan agar guru terus mendesain aktivitaspembelajarn yang mampu memunculkan sikap positif siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris

Abstract

This study aims at analyzing the factors affecting students to speak dirty words as an improper action in communication and understanding Islamic Character Building approach to solve their communication ethics. In addition, the study also describes the influence of environment, school and society in their roles on their communication ethics. The populations in this study are all high school students, approximately 10.092 students, in Southern Tangerang using purposive sampling which determines the subjects in the study according to the requirement of data representation to obtain depth of knowledge. The number of samples in this study is 2.5% of the whole population, approximately 252 subjects which are equally distributed on the 12 schools being observed. In this regard, each school represents 21 subjects. Meanwhile, the study applies observation, interviews and documentation to collect the research data. In addition, it uses Domain Analysis, Taxonomy Analysis, Componential Analysis and Analysis of Cultural Themes to process the data. As the result, the frequency of speaking bad words in the study shows 98 % of respondents (247 respondents) stated “frequently”, 1.6 % (4 respondents) said “sometimes” and only 0.4 % (1 respondent) answered “never”. Regarding the dirty words spoken, the study obtains list of words consisting of names of animals such as monkey, dogs or pig, names of sexual organs and terms such as dick or fuck and so on. In addition, it indicates that the partners in the communication are peers, siblings or things that stimulate angers. Meanwhile, the reactions displayed by the partners in the communication vary, such as acting normal, showing anger, laughing or ignoring. At last, the study results in the factors affecting the students to speak dirty words are spontaneity, joke, anger, habits, irritability, response to a mock and environment influence.

Abstract

Anak-anak bervariasi dalam perkembangan kemampuan berbicara dalam bahasa mereka. Namun, mereka mengikuti perkembangan alami untuk menguasai keterampilan bahasa. Ciri-ciri anak dalam berbahasa, yaitu mereka menggunakan bahasa mereka sepenuhnya untuk meminta informasi praktis yang mereka kurang pahami. Mereka telah belajar dua hal tentang bahasa dan mereka mengucapkan serangkaian kata-kata yang tidak terlalu berbeda dengan yang lain yang mereka dengar sepanjang hari. Dalam menggunakan bahasa, anak-anak menemukan beberapa kesulitan. Seorang anak dengan masalah bahasa mungkin dapat mengucapkan kata-kata dengan baik, tetapi tidak dapat menyatukan lebih dari dua kata. Ucapan anak lain mungkin sulit dimengerti, tetapi dia mungkin menggunakan kata dan frasa untuk mengungkapkan ide. Anak lain mungkin berbicara dengan baik, tetapi mengalami kesulitan mengikuti arahan. Ada beberapa cara untuk membantu masalah anak-anak, seperti (1) menghabiskan banyak waktu untuk berkomunikasi dengan anak-anak, bahkan selama masa bayi - berbicara, bernyanyi, dan peniruan bunyi dan gerak-gerik, (2) dimulai sedini mungkin, yaitu usia 6 bulan. Buku atau papan buku atau buku bergambar sesuai usia dapat mendorong anak-anak untuk melihat saat Anda menamai gambar, dan (3) menggunakan situasi sehari-hari untuk memperkuat bahasa dan ucapan anak-anak. Misalnya, beri nama makanan, tunjuk benda, dan lainnya.

Abstract

Abstract: Semantic Analysis Research on the Self-Naming of the fourth semester of Physical Education Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Kotabumi University sourced from the names of students in the academic year 2018/2019 in class A (morning). Muhammadiyah University Kotabumi is a Muhammadiyah College (PTM) in North Lampung district which has interesting meanings in the students' self names. Based on the findings of the analysis, there are elements of naming from Javanese language and culture, naming that uses elements of foreign languages ​​(English, Arabic, Scottish), and from the combined elements of the names of parents or descendants in these names. This is the basis for researchers to study, especially those related to the language of elements and meanings contained in the name of the fourth semester Physical Education Study Program students at Muhammadiyah University, Kotbaumi. Understanding of the language of the elements and types of meaning can be known based on language as forming elements of student names and the types of meanings contained therein.

Abstract

Beberapa abad terakhir, penelitian pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris semakin berkembang dan konsep tentang pembelajaran kooperatif menjadi suatu hal yang banyak dibahas oleh banyak peneliti selama ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menginvestigasi pengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif—metode group investigasi—terhadap keterampilan berbicara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasy experimental design dengan non-equivalent pretest-posttest design. Sampel penelitian diambil secara purposive dari mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di STKIP Muhammadiyah Kotabumi. Mereka dibagi menjadi dua kelas yaitu group eksperimen (N:34) dan group kontrol (N:34). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes performa berbicara. Validasi instrument menggunakan expert-judgement dan inter-rater reliability untuk menguji reliabilitas. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa kemampuan mahasiswa dalam berbicara menjadi lebih baik setelah diberi perlakuan metode pembelajaran kooperatif. Lebih jauh lagi, hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi informasi yang berguna untuk peneliti yang akan datang yang akan menggali lebih jauh tentang metode pembelajaran kooperatif terutama jenis group investigasi.

Abstract

Masalah penelitian ini berkaitan dengan penggunaan metode akrostik dalam mengajar kosakata. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah metode akrostik efektif digunakan dalam pengajaran kosakata kepada siswa kelas tujuh Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Furqon Prabumulih. Dalam penelitian ini, metode pra-eksperimen digunakan. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas tujuh di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Furqon Prabumulih. Jumlah total populasi penelitian ini adalah 121 siswa dan sampel adalah 31 siswa untuk kelompok eksperimen yang diambil dengan menggunakan cluster sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes. Tes ini terdiri dari 26 item dalam bentuk pilihan ganda. Data yang diperoleh melalui tes dan analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan t-test independen di SPSS 21. Hasilnya ditemukan skor rata-rata pretest adalah 34,23 dan skor rata-rata post-test adalah 74,56. Dan berdasarkan perhitungan t-test, nilai Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 kurang dari tingkat signifikansi (a = 0,05). Nilai t diperoleh = 11,549 lebih dari ttabel = 1,693 dengan df = 32, dan nilai og Sig. (2 - tailed) adalah 0,000. Itu kurang dari tingkat signifikansi (a = 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil ot t-test yang telah diberikan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa efektif mengajar kosa kata dengan menggunakan metode acrostics kepada siswa kelas tujuh Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Furqon Prabumulih.
