Abstract

The complex problems faced by fishing communities are social, economic and educational issues. The community empowerment strategy will increase both personal and group capacity as it enhances the ability and the potency of coastal women to become more independent. The main problem faced by women in fisherman community of Segoro Tambak Village in producing floss made from Milkfish spines that is: 1) The limited knowledge and skill of women fisherman technique in the production of milkfish spine floss, 2) limited access of the bussiness group to the market). These problems require third parties to help improve production capability and support the success of marketing, so this community service activity aims to: 1) Assist the business group of fishermen in improving technical skill of production of milkfish spines floss, 2) Helping to overcome the problem of limited market access for business group of women fishermen. The methods employed to help solve this problem are 1) Conducting counseling and practice of making milkfish spine floss in accordance with the concept of better taste with good quality, 2 counseling and marketing practices related to selling and marketing techniques, 3) Monitoring and mentoring after counseling . The expected outcomes in this activity are: 1) the concept of taste of milkfish dumplings good quality, 2) The model of development of marketing network of abon industry of milkfish fish, 3) Scientific articles in the form of proceedings.

Abstract

Sugar is one of the basic needs of people and food and drink industry. As technology advances and the demand for efficient usage of sugar rises, crystal sugar is seen as less advantageous than liquid sugar. If sugar is always dissolved in water before use, then it will be more efficient and practical for consumers to use sugar in liquid form than in crystal form. Other than that, liquid sugar is also attractive to consumers because it is economical, hygienic, instantly soluble in hot and cold water, fresher and longer-lasting, able to thicken and enrich the texture of foods and drinks, and functions as sweetener, syrup, and flavor enhancer. Liquid sugar is also more beneficial for sugar producers because of simpler production process, cheaper production cost, and similar yield with no extra cost. In sugar production, separation process is found in most of its stages and therefore the use of membrane technology for separating solute and water content has a good potential. In this research, water content reduction of sugar solution was done in order to increase the sugar concentration of the solution. The parameters of this research were 4%, 5%, and 6% starting concentration of sugar solution; 20, 40, and 60 minutes of process time; and 85 and 60 PSI ?P. The best result was acquired on 4% starting concentration, 60 PSI ?P, and 60 minutes process time.

Abstract

The evaporation process in the nira with vacuum evaporator using barometric condenser requires considerable energy, to save energy, it is necessary to design a vacuum evaporator that can decrease the point also energy-saving by replacing the barometric condenser into Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump method where the vapor has been condensed in the condenser is flown to the vacuum pump to draw steam in the evaporator chamber so that vacuum conditions occur. This type of vacuum pump uses a small energy when compared with using a steam jet ejector and is expected to use the vacuum evaporator with the Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump Method will be able to save electrical power. Vacuum Pump vacuum design with Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump method can reduce the evaporation temperature to 76 °C with a level of vacuum reaching 200 mm Hg against pressure 760 mm Hg. The results of vacuum evaporator design is expected to be used in industries that use the evaporation process of a solution that is sensitive to high temperatures, by making the vacuum condition will decrease the boiling point which will automatically save costs in the evaporation process.

Abstract

ASEAN Economic Society (MEA) era initiated in 2015 brought opportunity and challenge as well for Indonesian economic. As MEA enacted in the end of 2015, ASEAN member countries experience free flow of goods, services, investment and educated manpower from and to respective countries. From 14 creative economic sectors as listed in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 6 Year 2009 concerning Creative Economic Development, there is one poor creative industry subsector, namely ‘Exhibition Art’, in which such subsector only contribute 0.10% from entire creative industries. TRIO ABG or frequently referred to as Triple Helix, which is synergy between Business Government, is one of concept in increasing creative industry growth. In addition, creative industry establishment also determined from such creative industry competitive advantages. This research aimed to review TRIO ABG contribution and Competitive Advantages against exhibition art creative industry development in East Java. Population in this research were entire creative industry owner/management from 14 creative industry sectors. Sample in this research were 42 owners/management of ‚Exhibition Art? creative industry sub-sector. Partial Least Square (PLS) were analysis technique used in this research, which is analysis alternative method with variance-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Research result showed that TRIO ABG still unable to provided contribution for exhibition art creative industry in East Java. Such three helix roles actually exist, but it was highly minimum and not synergized yet. Likewise, competitive advantages on exhibition art creative industry in East Java still unable to become competitive advantage that could compete with other industries.

Abstract

Madura Island is known as the island with agro climatic conditions are quite extreme. This condition affects the genius and plant populations that exist and the impact on animal life in these ecosystems. Ranch as one of the agricultural sector with a strategic position, as a provider of animal protein. Madura Island has an advantage in the field of cattle breeding typical Madura. The purpose of this study is assessing alternative commodity ecosystem chain efficiency improvements especially cattle cow Madura. The method used is descriptive method of analysis. The results showed a 7 supporting the plant ecosystem sustainability and development of cattle breeding Madura ie ecosystems rice, maize, soybeans, peanuts, green beans, cassava and sweet potatoes. Each ecosystem has the potential of different crops in each district to be integrated with the development of cattle breeding Madura.

Abstract

The advancement of science and technology can have an influence on the progress of a college. employees who have good quality are very important so that the University produces competitive graduates. Employee performance will have an impact on their personal and tertiary work satisfaction. If the level of employment is low, it will also influence the progress of the college where he works. Therefore, it is necessary to do research related to the influence of the job satisfaction of the employees on the work performance of the employees of UPN "Veteran" East Java.This study consists of two variables namely Job Satisfaction and Job Performance employees. Given that employees also contribute in the realization of the purpose of the institution in this case is UPN "Veteran" East Java. Population of all employees UPN "Veteran" East Java. The research methodology used simple regression. The results of this study indicate that employee satisfaction affects consumer satisfaction.

Abstract

The success of teaching and learning process depends not only on the teacher's expertise but also influenced by the condition of the learning space. The structures of the learning space must pay attention to the factors of flexibility, achievement, flexibility, comfort, and beauty can increase the spirit for students and teachers to transfer knowledge. The classroom and library room at MTs Nurul Islam pay less attention to flexibility and beauty factor. The purpose of the program is to improve the classroom and library of MTs Nurul Islam Surabaya so that it can improve the spirit of learning and teaching for students and teachers. The method is done through counseling and setting practice. The results of the counseling it can motivate teachers to apply a seat arrangement pattern that adjusted the learning activities. Furthermore in one of the classroom also was done by painting with dark green and light green. The dark green and light green colors are selected which are brighter than the previous ones. The arrangement of wall color is also made different, is two side wall of dark green and two sides wall with light green color. The Floor in the library room raised ± 20 cm to overcome the flood.

Abstract

Green campus program is a manifestation of a university that utilizing friendly environment energy into the real act of acknowledge environment issues. Therefore through this program will encourage awareness and careless from the university society itself to keep the environment clean, beside that university also a place to gather up young intellectuals as the next generation of the nation. This program could be role model or good example for other institution to keep sustainability of the environment clean. UPN Veteran East Java as a well-known university in Surabaya is really care to the environment‘s issues so therefore a green campus program. Due to that matter, this research is to know how far the social factor, learning and personally encourage academies society to apply green campus program in the UPN Veteran East Java college society. In this research, the researcher used 100 persons as the sample and the population which is all the active academies society in UPN Veteran of East Java. This research is a descriptive quantitative research by spreading questionnaire. Analysis technique for this research using SEM method based on component with data analysis PLS. The result for this research is to describe the awareness of academies society in contributing for the green campus program in UPN Veteran of East Java.

Abstract

CV. Rumah Coklat is a new company in Trenggalek, East Java, that is in the business of production and retail selling of chocolate in cooperation with local government and cacao farmers. Because of its status as a new company and its location in Trenggalek, which is not a big city, CV. Rumah Coklat faces significant difficulties in marketing its products. To improve the situation, Technopark UPN “Veteran” of East Java is incubating CV. Rumah Coklat in order to develop its online marketing system which consists of a website, an online store, and a game application. The three elements of the marketing system are integrated and therefore are able to exchange information with other for various purposes. The game application is a freemium, which means it can be downloaded and played freely but requires the players to unlock features by buying products on the online store, and this in turn will boost CV. Rumah Coklat’s revenue as the game application’s players become potential consumers for the chocolate products. Other than that, the game application can also show advertisements for products that are being sold on the online store, give vouchers or prizes to the best players which can be redeemed on the online store, and other things that can increase brand awareness and consumer engagement. The website and the online store have been launched and the 1.0 version of the game application will be released for Android platform on Google Play Store

Abstract

Electrocoagulation is an electrolysis process with the aimed of destabilizing suspensions, emulsions, and solutions containing contaminants. The process was to connect the direct current (DC) through the water to become flok that it was easily separated. This electrocoagulation process required an electrolyte solution and an electrode. Batik wastewater was used as an electrolyte solution and Aluminium as the electrode. The mechanism of the coagulation process for reducing organic suspension was, on an electrolyte in this case was batik wastewater placed two Aluminium electrodes (cathode and anode) and connect it to the direct current, so it’s called electrochemical process. This research aimed to treat wastewater batik by using electrocoagulation process in eliminating of suspended organic. This was due to the fact that wastewater was generally alkaline and has high organic matter and high suspended solids. Suspended solid produced in the process of preparation. Based on the electrocoagulation process, the treatment variables in this research are, variations of current strength are 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Ampere and contact time are 60,90,120,150 and 180 minutes. While other influential factors were as a fixed variable. The specified variables were the thickness of the plate and the distance between the plate, the temperature according to the ambient temperature. In this research, the optimum removal of Tss and COD at the largest electric current was 5 A and at 180 minutes of detention time. Removal percentage of Tss reached 94.87% while COD removal reached 93.19%.
