Abstract

The aim of this study is how to improve the students skills to make descriptive written review using Contextual Teaching and Learning ( CTL ) instructional method, by utilizing animal pictures as a learning tool. Research design was a Classroom Action Research ( CAR). Research subject was Class II.C sttudents SDN 82 Kota Bengkulu (28 students). Research results indicates an increase of students ability to make descriptive writing. Improvement of learning achievement seen from the increased of the students ability after learning treatment. Before learning treatment, just 28.57% of students ( 8 of 28 students ); and after the first cycle increased to 50 % of students ( 14 of 28 students ) ; and after the third cycle increased by 85.71 % of students ( 24 of 28 students ) which passed the assessment indicators are set

Abstract

This research is aimed to obtain a descriptive about Analysis of Various Students’ Language of Class X H SMA Negeri 2 Bengkulu City Used in Their Facebook of the this research is about how the theme of students’ sentences status in their facebook are, what kind of language and nonlanguage characteristic s of their sentences status in facebook of students class X H are the research. The data that are collected use purposive sampling technic by taking the samples from sentence status of the students’ facebook accounts which have been collected. The technics used in data analysis are : (1) data collecting, data presenting, (2) conclusion or verification in document. The research findings are guile diverse themes that emerge, but in a sense more positive tone expression (91,6%) consisting of : interaction, special interaction, expression activity, adage, expression of feeling, expression of feelings provoke cancern, the phrase specifically, and information. While the expression of negative feelings (8,3%). Likewise, the original identity (theoriginal name of the account status) consists of 19 students with a percentage (79,1%) and the remaining 5 students with a pseudonym identity (account status pseudonym) by percentage (20,8%). Linguistic traits often arises is the use of regional languages, although there are also English-speaking. Non-linguistic traits characterized by the use of icons/symbols ( stiker’s or emotion) which describes the feeling.Kata Kunci: Various Students’ Language in Their Facebook

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kecenderungan pemilihan bahasa yang digunakan oleh kalangan terpelajar.. Metode penelitian yang dipakai, yaitu metode deskriptif. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah semua dosen JPBS FKIP Universitas Bengkulu, teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik purposive sampling, jumlah sampel sebanyak 20 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menggunakan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecenderungan pemilihan bahasa kalanagan terpelajar adalah bahasa Indonesia baik dalam  situasi formal maupun situasi informal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tindakan apa yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak berita siswa dengan menggunakan model kooperatif Tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) Siswa Kelas VII A SMP Negeri 2 Curup Tengah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan subyek penelitian seorang guru dan dua puluh delapan orang siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli sampai Oktober 2015, terdiri dari tiga siklus. Rancangan penelitian melibatkan guru, kepala sekolah, peneliti, yang dalam keseluruhan kegiatanmeliputi: (1) perumusan masalah, penyatuan ide tentang peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa kelas VII A, (2) perencanaan, (3) pelaksanaan tindakan, (4) observasi, (5) refleksi, (6) evaluasi dan revisi, (7) penyimpulan hasil. Pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan uji keabsahan data menggunakan teknik tes dan teknik obervasi dengan melaksanakan tes dan melakukan observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa. Teknik analisis data tentang kemampuan menyimak berita dilakukansecara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. model kooperatif Tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) bertujuan meningkatkan: hasil belajar siswa, Perhatian dan aktivitas siswa kelas VII A SMPN 2 Curup Tengah Kabupaten Rejang Lebong mengalami peningkatan sesudah dilakukan tindakan. Kepala Sekolah, guru dan Siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama menanggapi dengan positif terhadap pembelajaran menyimak berita dengan model kooperatif Tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT).Kata Kunci: Kemampuan, Menyimak Berita, Model Kooperatif, Pembelajaran

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan struktur retorika bagian pendahuluan artikel jurnal penelitian berbahasa Indonesia dalam bidang ilmu sains dan mendeskripsikan fitur linguistik bagian pendahuluan artikel jurnal penelitian berbahasa Indonesia dalam bidang ilmu sains. Peneitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif. Data dan sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumen berupa tuturan penulis dalam teks wacana sedangkan sumber data berupa 50artikel jurnal penelitian dalam bidang ilmu sains. Analisis struktur retorika menggunakan teori MMP yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan dan 18 langkah, sedangkan fitur linguistik diartikan sebagai penggunaan jenis atau ragam teks yang terkait dengan kalimat aktif dan pasif, serta kata sambung/hubung/konjungsi. Hasil dari analisis struktur retorika bagian pendahuluan AJP dalam bidang ilmu sains, berupa penggunaan tahapan dan langkah yang ditemukan atau digunakan dalam struktur retorika AJP bidang ilmu sains dengan hasil yang paling banyak adalah Tahapan 1(Menyamakan Latar Belakang Pengetahuan) dan Tahapan 2 (Menjelaskan Bidang Penelitian). Sedangkan penggunaan langkah-langkah dalam tahapan yang paling banyak digunakan dalam AJP dalam bidang ilmu sains, antara lain: (1) langkah T2-LA yang memperkenalkan topik penelitian, (2) langkah T2-LB mengidentifikasi masalah penelitian, (3) langkah T2-LC mereview literatur terkait, (4) langkah T1-LC menjelaskan sejarah singkat bidang penelitian, diikuti dengan langkah lain yang kurang dari 70%, sedangkan fitur linguistik yang terdapat dalam bagian pendahuluan AJP dalam bidang ilmu sains, antara lain: (1) Kalimat Aktif, (2) Kalimat Pasif (3) Konjungsi Koordinatif, dan (4) Konjungsi Subordinatif, dan (5) Konjungsi Korelatif.Kata Kunci: Struktur, retorika, fitur linguistik, Artikel Jurnal Penelitian Sains

Abstract

The facts show that the results of teaching and learning of English in Inggris at all levels are not yet satisfying because the students get very little chances to practice the language in the classroom while the learning acitivies outside the classroom are not yet extensive and to some extent are impossible. Although teachers have been retrained again and again, the curriculum has been renewed several times and the textbooks have been revised, the English learning results do not seem to show a significant improvement. This paper is trying to offer a possible solution for the problem; that is to use ICT based English lerning materials to intensify the student’s English learning activities outside the classroom particularly for university students. Thus, through more interactive and interesting learning activities outside the classroom using ICT media already available with the students such as smartphone, laptop or portable computer, the students will get more comprehensible language input.

Abstract

Learning is an urgent matters in the world of education, because it is something that is important and urgent that require immediate decisions and actions. This action research was conducted to obtain answers on issues related to learning affixation by using Discovery on the class of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 01 Ujan Mas Kepahiang District Bengkulu. The series of activities classroom action research was conducted in two cycles and sitiap cycle consists of: (l) action plan (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Application of discovery learning methods in learning affixation ber-kan and ber - an in Class V SD Negeri 01 Ujan Mas can improve and enhance the activity of the learning process students having mastered the learning material showed an increase. This can be shown by the average result of the acquisition of 57 in the first cycle increased to 77 in the second cycle, from the observation of increased activity of students in the first cycle obtain the average - average 57% increased to 77%. Interviews conducted entirely student said he was happy and liked the discovery learning method. Based on the above results we can conclude that the working hypothesis that the author interchanges that if the affixation ber-kan and ber - an implemented by the method of discovery will require students to learn science with satisfactory results.Keywords: language skills, learning affixation, methods of discovery

Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe the internal conflict in the novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu by Tere Liye. The study adapted the descriptive research design. The approach used in this study was literature psychology. The data were in the form of texts. The source of the data used in this study was the novel of Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu. The data were collected by reading, comprehending, and note-taking. It was then analyzed by data reduction, data categorization, drawing conclusion and writing report. The result of this study shows that there are two factors that cause the internal conflict of main character (Rehan), they were: personal factor and situational factor. Personal factor consists of biological and socio-psychological factors. While the situational factor consists of ecology factor, design and architecture factor, condition-behavior factor, and psychosocial factor. As the result of the internal conflict experienced by Rehan are frustration, disappointment, agony, and anger. While the mechanism of ego-defense exercised by Rehan are repression, denial, reaction formation, movement, rationalization, and regression.

Abstract

The general purpose of this research is to know the Sentence Pattern in Editorial of Kompas Newspaper in March 2015 Edition. The specific purpose is to describe the simple sentence pattern, compound sentence pattern, complex sentence pattern and the combined sentence pattern in the editorial of Kompas newspaper in March 2015 edition. This thesis uses a descriptive method with the research data in the form of simple sentence and compound sentence taken from the editorial of Kompas Newspaper in March 2015 edition. The editorial of Kompas in March 2015 edition contains a simple sentence that has 10 variations of sentence pattern, that are S – P, S – P – O, S – P – Adverb, S – P – O – Adverb, S – P – Complement, S – P – O – Complement, P – S, S – Adverb – P, Adverb – S – P, Adverb – S – P – O.Compound sentence generally uses the variation of sentence pattern as the following S1 – P1 + S2 – P2 and S – P1 + P2 – O. Complex sentence generally uses the following variations of sentence pattern S1 : (s2 – p2) – P1, S1 – P1 – O - : (s2 – p2), and S – P – O – K : (s2 – p2). While the mixed sentence uses the combination of the compound sentence patter and complex sentence pattern K – S1 – P1 – O: (s2 – p2 + p3) – K : ( p4 – o ) and S1:(s2 – p2 – o) – P1: (p3- o: p4 + p5 – k ). Abstract

This study aimed to describe a form of politeness pragmatic imperative in the learning process of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pondok Kelapa Central Bengkulu. This research is a qualitative description. The data in this study is data in the form of verbal utterances in students' interaction with students, and students and teachers in the classroom environment of SMP Negeri 1 Pondok Kelapa Central Bengkulu. The collection of data by observation, recording, and recording. Analyzing data with several stages of the (1) transcription of data, (2) the encoding of data, (3) identification of the data, (4) the classification of data, (5) the interpretation of the data, and (6) the stage of inference. Based on the results of research on the form of pragmatic politeness imperative in the learning process of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pondok Kelapa Central Bengkulu consists of nine utterances which implies a pragmatic imperative which consists of commands, requests, insistence, persilaan, solicitation, requests permission, permit, prohibition, and ngelulu. Imperative meaning is marked by a form of politeness in the imperative form of speech commands using particle was the one, -kan, narration imperative requests please use the phrase, speech urging imperative to use speech that is spoken repeatedly, speech tuturannya form is imperative persilaan please, yes, speech imperatively calls to use the phrase of speech !, let imperative allow tuturannya form is right, yes., speech imperative ban on using the phrase do, and speech is imperative ngelulu form tuturannya keep saying but actually the intended meaning is to stop.Kata Kunci: Pragmatic, Politeness Imperative.
