Abstract

With the rapid development of unmanned surface vehicle (USV), the development of hybrid electric vehicles on USV is a technology that has a very important role to overcome the problem of how long the vehicle can be used. In hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), the main components consist of generators, electric motors, and batteries. Modeling component is intended to design models that fit on unmanned surface vehicle and represent the state of USV with hybrid drivetrain. This paper focuses on modeling USV with hybrid drivetrain. This vehicle uses a series configuration so that the generator act as a power generating system. The power system on USV was chosen using hybrid sources of DC generator and lithium-ion battery pack. The optimal size of DC generator and battery pack are very important to ensure that USV can work for a long period of time. This paper describes the simple characteristics of a DC generator with a PI controller and gain-scheduling PI controller which is accurate in generating 380V output voltage according to the initial plan to be built. We also described the model of permanent magnet dc motor as a driver in USV and described simulation about 200Ah 36V lithium-ion batteries. The development of this model will be represented in MATLAB/Simulink.

Abstract

This paper present about speed control of Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) Motor 1 kW in which supplied using Photovoltaic (PV) Array 1.5 kW that simulated using MATLAB 2016a.  Speed control of BLDC exactly depend on voltage condition, so speed control mean voltage control. Furthermore, Proportional Integral (PI) controller will be implemented to get best performance of the system during irradiance change or some load implemented. For detail analysis purpose, the simulation will do in some case such by vary irradiation of PV, Vary the speed reference then vary of load. From simulation result we get the information that dynamic irradiance, load and speed reference will influence the response stability of speed so do Power Consumption, Voltage and Current response.

Abstract

This research is focusing on the development of metaheuristic algorithm to solve Dynamic Vehicle Routing Problem With Time Windows (DVRPTW) for the service provider of Inter-city Courier. The algorithm is divided into two stages which is static stage and dynamic stage. In the static stage, modified Ant Colony System is developed and in the dynamic stage, Insertion Heuristic is developed. In DVRPTW, vehicle’s routes are raised dynamically based on real time information, for example the reception of new order. To test the performances of the developed metaheuristic algorithm, the author compares the developed algorithm with the nearest neighbor algorithm and with the combination between the nearest neighbor and insertion heuristics algorithm. Experiment is done using Chen’s standard data test. The developed metaheuristic algorithm was applied on the network data of the roads in Surabaya, where the routes generated not only determine the order that the consumer must visit but also determine the routes that must be passed. After the experiment, the author conclude that the developed algorithm generates a better travel time total than the nearest neighbor and the combination between the nearest neighbor and insertion heuristics and can also generate route dynamically to respond to the new order well.

Abstract

Abstract— In industry, conveyor is a means of transportation to move production materials. Conveyor not just move the goods but there are other processes such as counting the number of goods, filling the liquid and so forth because it is equipped with certain sensors and actuators. These processes can be automated by using PLCs as controllers by executing instruction programs in the form of ladder diagrams. The complexity of automation processes in conveyors requires the use of many relays in PLC programming and is difficult to apply to low-specification PLCs. Of course the procurement of PLC with high specifications require a lot of money. In order to overcome these problems it is necessary a method that can minimize the number of relays used so that the program becomes shorter. By using state diagram, the result of construction of ladder diagram is obtained by 32 rung and the program capacity is 3 KB.Keywords—Conveyor, Flow-Table/State Diagram, Ladder Diagram, PLC, Rung.

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world consisting of 17,508 islands including 9,638 unnamed islands and 6,000 uninhabited islands. The population which increases every year showing the results that there is the migration of people from the large islands to the remote islands and one of the problems of this condition is the optimal electricity supply. Electricity on the island is commonly carried out by diesel engines, so it needed combining the power plant system that reduced the working-load of diesel engines. One of the power plants is a solar power plant which needed to support the government's National Energy Policy (NEP) program in renewable energy. The paper has done by assessing one of the remote islands in Indonesia by identifying the whole power plant system design. The total number of solar power plant capacity installed is 170 kWp and 3 x 240 kW diesel engine. In the Future plan, the project will be made of a Solar Power Plant system that is reliable as a smart grid system and also there is optimizing in the load design. The paper will also identify all possibilities technical aspect that could improve the system becomes a smart grid system in the future.

Abstract

The water level in the steam drum needs to be kept constant at a certain point. Therefore, control is needed for the flow rate of incoming water feedwater to adjust to the disruption of the steam flow rate that comes out. The size of the steam flow rate that comes out depends on the load demand. If the demand for loads is high and fluctuations, then the water level in the steam drum will be more difficult. The PID type fuzzy logic controller with a robust self-tuning scheme will be implemented in the water level regulation system in the steam drum. In the three-element control scheme, when given a high load of 700 MW the system produces an error deviation of 15.69 mm peak against the set point. This value is smaller than the single-element control scheme by producing an error deviation of 18.5 mm against the set point. However, when given a set point change of 40 mm the three-element control scheme produced a response of 16.82 mm peak error error to the set point. This value is greater than the system response with the single-element control scheme which only produces an error deviation of 3.91 mm peak against the set point.

Abstract

Bagan tancap is a conventional fishing using diesel as its main source. This conventional method needs to be replaced with an eco-friendly and easy to use system, namely solar panels. The solar panels power is just limited by time so the stability of the system is poorly maintained that needs to be a battery as a storage of energy to improve system stability. However, the power that is not optimal causes the charging battery to take longer and not be constant with periods of weather and irradiation coditions. The charging battery without MPPT it tends not to be optimal because the solar panel does not operate at its maximum value. MPPT with perturb and observe algorithms can maximize power on solar cells with tracking speeds that depend on the response speed of the converter. While boost coverter has the ability to maintain potential differences that are tailored to the battery specifications and keep the current and voltage ripple values relatively small. For this reason, this final project will design and implement solar charge controller equipped with MPPT P & O (Perturb and Observe) and boost converter, this method can maximize the power of the solar panel by 97.84% with a faster charging time for 27 minutes.Keywords—Light Fishing, MPPT, Perturb and Observe, Solar Charge Controller

Abstract

Metamaterial absorber is an electromagnetic wave absorber made from metamaterial. It basically works in narrow band frequency as it is designed in a particular shape that related to its resonance frequency. However, some applications, e.g., anechoic chamber, require metamaterial absorber that can work in a wide frequency band. This paper discussed the design of wide band metamaterial absorber using the combination of multiple unit cells. The unit cells type was split ring resonator (SRR). SRR had advantages in terms of its simple shape, it could have more than one resonant frequencies depending on the number of its ring, and its shape could be modified easily to obtain the desired resonant frequencies. We designed metamaterial absorber having good absorbtion rate in 2-10 GHz frequency band. To cover this wide frequency band, we used five unit cells which were arranged on a flat plane. Each unit cell had several resonant frequencies. The design was carried out using simulation software of CST (Computer Simulation System). The fabricated design was measured and the results shown that it had an absorbtion rate of 99% in the measured frequency band.

Abstract

Abstract— Drive system is an important role important role in industrial processes, especially in electrical control. Maintaining a DC motor speed is a control system task that requires several method. Generally, set-point is defined as point of demand, and its comparation against process value (current speed) resulted in error. Both error and delta-error are two parameters required to the control system to determine system behavior in correction action. Such system of controller is a useful component to suppress the error signal so that the desired performance can be obtained. This research designs system of DC motor rotation speed control using Arduino Uno microcontroller to meet control specification on laboratory scale, implementing control application and Fuzzy Control System as control system algorithm.Because of its ability to be easily modeled using human intuitive, adaptive, does not require complex mathematical equations, not limited to linear or constant systems, and easily adapted to human input, Mamdani Fuzzy Logic Control System is used.

Abstract

Massive Multiple-input Multiple-output (Massive MIMO) system is one of the most potential candidates for the fifth-generation wireless communication. Massive-MIMO system employs a very large number of antennas which could easily reach more than a thousand antennas in the future. Instead of using an omni directional antenna which is a very popular base station antenna nowadays, massive-MIMO uses its large number of antennas to create multiple smaller beams which are transmitted directly into the intended receivers. In this paper, we develop a user-scheduling technique for Multi-user Massive-MIMO system called Fair-CDUS which is developed from charcoal distance-based user selection (CDUS) technique. Fair-CDUS aims to give more fairness to users in term of selection frequency and at the same time could maintain the total throughput performance. Some experimental scenarios with a different number of beams and a different number of receiving antenna are presented in this paper. We believe this proposed method could be a potential method to be used in Multi-user Massive-MIMO system.
