Abstract

This research aimed to improve science process skill in coordination system material of Biology subject at XI IPA 3 Class SMA Batik 2 Surakarta with implementation of Guided Inquiry. This research is a Classroom Action Research which was done in two cycles. Each cycle consists of 4 steps, those are: planning, acting, observation, and reflection. The technique of data collection used questionaire, observation sheet, test, and interview. Validity used triangulation method, while data analysis used descriptive analysis. The results of this research showed that implementing classroom research by using guided inquiry could improve students? science process skill in Biology subject, matched with second cycle target. The percentage of achievement aspect in science process skill at pre-test was low because the teaching and learning was dominated by teaching centered. While the average percentage of achievement aspect in science process skill in accordance with the observation sheet in first cycle was 53,29% and second cycle was 77,68% (increased 24,39%), average of achievement in first cycle was 56,1 % and second cycle was 78,35% (increased 22,25%). Therefore, implementation of teaching technique by using guided inquiry could stimulate students and force them to be more active in Biology subject. Based on the research result above, it can be concluded that the implementation of guided inquiry in coordination system material of Biology subject can improve science process skill of students at class XI IPA 3 SMA Batik 2 Surakarta in academic year 2013/ 2014. Keywords: Guided Inquiry, Science Process Skill

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to ascertain the influence of Active Knowledge Sharing  Based on Contextual  learning strategy toward capability of  critical thingking students grade X  of  SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo in academic year 2012/2013.This research is considered as quasi experiment research using quantitative approach. The research was designed using posttest only non-equivalent  control group design that applied  Active Knowledge Sharing  Based on  Contextual approach in experimental group and conventional approach with discussion, classical course and question-answer method in control group. The population of this research was all of  X degree students at SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo in academic year 2012/2013.  The sample of this research was established by cluster sampling that choosed X-4 as experiment group and X-7 as control group. The data was collected by using critical thingking test, observation form, and document. The hypotheses analyzed by t-test. The results of this research showed that the mean of student?s capability of critical thinking in experiment class higher than control class, it was 72,97 for experiment class and 64,00 for control class.The result of hypothesis analyzed by t-test, got significant value 0,003  (sig.<0,05), so the Active Knowledge Sharing Based on Contextual  learning strategy had very significant effect toward capability of critical thingking. The conclusion of this research showed that application of Active Knowledge Sharing Based on Contextual  learning strategy had very significant effect toward capability of critical thingking domain of  X grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo in academic year 2012/2013. Key Word :active knowledge sharing based on contextual learning strategy, capability of critical thingking.

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The aim of this research is improve  biology learning quality  for  teacher performance,  learning facilities,  classroom climate, student?s  science  attitude in class, and student motivation of learning in student class XI Sains 5 SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta.  The research is classroom action research. The steps of research include planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The collecting data of research uses questionnaire, observation, and interview. The research uses triangulation as validation data. The research uses descriptive as analytic data.  The acts of research contain  three cycles. The result in cycles I, II and III describes that mean of observation data in  the classroom  for  aspect  teacher performance,  classroom climate, student?s science attitude and students motivation in learning have been increase for every cycles and achieve of target ? 75% in cycles III,  the utility of learning facilities in the classroom as well have been optimal. In addition, this research also uses interview  and the result of interview shows that student motivation can improve after acts of research end, attitude of students  can improve after act of research end, and conditioning of class can more interesting after acts of research end. The conclusion of research describes that  the implementation of learning model cooperative type two stay two stray with media audio-visual can improve  biology  learning quality for  teacher performance,  learning facilities, classroom climate, student?s science attitude, and motivation of learning in student class XI Sains 5 SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purpose of this study was determine the effectiveness of Guided Discovery method application toward creative thinking skill of the tenth grade  students  of  SMA N  1 Teras Boyolali In The Academic Year  2011/2012. This study was a quasi-experimental study using Posttest Only Control Design as a research design. The population in this study was the students of tenth grade in the second semester of  SMA N 1 Teras Boyolali in the Academic Year 2011/2012. The sampling technique used Cluster Random Sampling. The collecting data were by test and non test. The datas were analysed by t-test. The result of the research showed that the Guided Discovery application method has an effect on students' science process skill. The highest aspect average of creative thinking skill in the experiment class was obtained in elaboration aspect that is 88.05%, while the lowest in fluency aspect is 83.2%. Based on the sequence of the aspects of creative thinking skill from the highest to the lowest. In details, the creative thinking skill was measured by elaboration : 88.05%, flexibility : 86.56%, originality : 86.56%, fluency : 83.25%. Whereas in the control class, the sequence from the highest to the lowest is flexibility : 74.25%, elaboration : 71.64%, fluency : 70.9%, originality : 69.4%. The conclusion of this research was Guided Discovery learning method was had significantly affecting the creative thinking skill on X grade of SMA Negeri 1 Teras Boyolali. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The aims of this research  are  certain the relationship of 1)  emotional quotient (EQ) with student?s cognitive learning achievement of biology in X grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012, 2) learning  readiness with student?s cognitive  learning  achievement of biology in  X grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012, 3) emotional quotient (EQ) and learning readiness with student?s cognitive  learning achievement of biology  in X grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. This was a correlational quantitive research. The population were all of the students in X grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012. The sample was taken among 74 samples of student using  simple random sampling  technique. The data was collected by  test, documentation, and questionnaire. Test was used to knowing  student?s  emotional quotient  (EQ), documentation was used to getting student?s cognitive learning achievement, and learning readiness was measured by using questionnaire. Analyze uses correlation regression analysis with SPSS 17. The result showed that  1) there  is  a relationship  between  emotional quotient (EQ) and student?s cognitive learning achievement of biology in X grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012, 2) there is a relationship between  learning  readiness  and  student?s cognitive  learning  achievement  of biology in X grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012, 3) there is a relationship both of  emotional quotient  (EQ)  and   learning  readiness with  student?s cognitive  learning  achievement  of biology in  X grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.  The three aforementioned correlation are considered as significant and positive valuable. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purposes of this research ware to ascertain the influence of implementation bentos research result module  in subject of environmental polution  towards students science process skill of tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Mojolaban in the academic year 2011/2012. This research is considered as quasi experiment research using quantitative approach. The research was designed using posttest only control design that applied bentos research result module  in subject of environmental polution approach in experimental group and conventional approach method in control group. The population of this research was all of X degree students at SMA Negeri 1 Mojolaban in the academic year 2011/2012.  The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling that choosed X.5  as experiment group and X.6 as control group. The data was collected by using essay test, observation form, and document. The hypotheses analyzed by t-test. The conclusion result obtained using t-test are value for 0.004, so the  probabilitas significance (p-value) < 0.05, thus received H1 and HO rejected. It means there is a significant difference of implementation bentos research result module  in subject of environmental polution in class experiment and conventional approach method in class control towards students science process skill. The conclusion of this research showed that application of implementation bentos research result module  in subject of environmental pollution had significant effect towards students science process skill of tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Mojolaban in the academic year 2011/2012. The populations of this research were all of 10th degree students at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.  The samples of  this research were the students of X-4 as experiment group and X-2 as control group. The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The  data was collected essay test, observation form, and document. The hypotheses analyzed by Two-Way Anava. The research concluded that 1) application of Guided Inquiry learning model had significant effect toward science process skill, 2) the academic ability didn?t has significant effect toward science process skill, 3) there was interaction between Guided Inquiry learning model and academic ability toward science process skills. Abstract

This research is aimed to compare the two models; INSTAD supported by mind map visualization and the conventional teachered center in term of their capabilities in improving student?s analytical thinking.Quasy experimental paradism of research is followed with Posttest Only with Non-equivalent Groups Design. The population in this research was all of the student at the XI Science Class in SMA N 4 Surakarta, at the academic year of 2012/2013. The whole population consist of 188 students that are dispersed within 6 classes. Samples are taken in a group of student (cluster sampling method). The data are collected upon the samples taken using the instrument sheet of examining the analytical thingking capability.The result shows that the mean value of the analytical thingking in the experimental group (74,00) is greater than in the comparison one (60,63). The learning in experimental group using INSTAD supported by mind map could practice the student?s cognitive skill so that the student?s analytical thinking competence could develop. It could not be found in the control group which the learning use conventional method.It can be concluded that INSTAD supported mind map visualization is better than conventional teachered center learning. Keywords: INSTAD, Mind Map, Biological Analytical Thinking Competency.

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purposes of this research were to know: 1) the influence of implementing Listening Team method accompanied Talking Stick toward student?s achievement at SMP Jaten, 2) the influence of student?s starting ability toward achievement of biologi at SMP Jaten, 3) the interaction between teaching method and student?s starting ability toward achievement of biology at SMP Jaten, 4) the influence of a greater teaching method between conventional  teaching method and Listening Team method accompanied Talking Stick toward achievement of biology. This research wasquasiexperimental research using Randomized Control Only Design. The teaching method and the student?s starting ability were independent variable and the achievement of biology wasdependent variable. The population of this research wasthe VIII grade of SMP Negeri 1 Jaten on 2 nd semester, in the academic year 2010/2011. The sample of this research wereclass VIII-D as the experimentalclass and class VIII-F as the control class. Technique of collecting the achievement of biology data used documentary technique and test. While technique of analyzing the data used two ways anova which continued by further test using Bonferroni method to find out the level of treatment influence. The conclusion of this research were: 1) there was the significant influence of implementing Listening Team Method accompanied Talking Stick toward student?s achievement of biology in SMP Negeri 1 Jaten, 2) therewas the significant influence of student?s starting ability toward achievement of biology in SMPNegeri 1 Jaten, 3) there wasn?tinteraction between teaching method and student?s starting ability toward achievement of biology in SMP Negeri 1 Jaten, 4) based on further test Listening Team method accompanied Talking Stick is greater teaching method than convensional method. Abstract

- The purpose of this research is to know the influence of Guided Discovery Learning toward critical thinking skills of X grade students at SMA Negeri Karangpandan in academic year 2013/2014. The research was a quasi-experimental. The research design was used post-test only nonequivalent control group design with the experiment group applying  model  and control group applying  conventional  learning model. The  population of  this research  was  all of X  grade students at SMA  Negeri  Karangpandan  in academic  year  2013/2014. Sampling techniques used cluster sampling that choosed X 1 grade as control group and X 2 grade as experiment group. Techniques of collecting data were test and non-test methods. The test method examinate critical thinking test. The non-test method included observation of activities student and documentation.  The hypothesis was analyzed by t-test. This  research  concluded  that  the  Guided Discovery Learning model  affected (Sig.0,000<0,05) the critical thinking skills of  X grade students at SMA  Negeri  Karangpandan  in  academic  years 2013/2014.Keywords : Guided Discovery Learning,  Critical Thinking  Skills.
