Abstract

The textbook based on Soft-skills are targeted to create student-centered learning so that they can encourage students to learn more actively in solving problems and finding more independent sources of learning and improving the quality of Soft-skills contained in the process of applying the textbook. This research was conducted in the 1st Semester of Academic Year 2018/2019 in the Study Program DIII Refraction Optician (RO) STIKES HAKLI Semarang with the number of participants of 50 students. The research development (R & D) in this study aims to produce Optical Physics textbooks using the Soft skills. The stages of this research include define, design, develop and disseminate. The research design used in the trial application of this textbook was a quasi-experimental design with the form of pretest-posttest control group-design. The results of the study show that the development of Optical Physics textbook based on Soft-skills has gone through a validation process and has been stated to fulfill the content validity set by the expert, so the developed textbook is declared valid. Increasing student activity with an average score of 3.4 shows very active criteria that have a positive effect on the value of student learning outcomes. The results of the analysis of students’ questionnaire sheets showed that the learning process was fun and easy to understand the material taught with data 87,3% of students were happy and stated practical. The application of textbooks based on Soft-skills can significantly improve student learning outcomes and their Soft-skills.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk pengembangan instrumen  penilaian sikap siswa terhadap mata pelajaran IPA. Instrumen yang dikembangkan berupa angket yang terbagi menjadi pernyataan positif dan pernyataan negatif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) atau umumnya dikenal dengan penelitian pengembangan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa SMPN Se-Kabupaten Muaro Jambi dengan menggunakan teknik purpossive sampling, maka sampel penelitian sebanyak 550 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan instrumen angket yang valid sebanyak 56 butir dari total 70 butir pernyataan, dengan nilai reliabilitas (cronbach alpha) sebesar 0,842.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teacher’s guidebook oriented by Chemo Entrepreneurship on chemical bonding material also analyze its quality by teacher response. This research was a research and development with the 4-D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate) and limited to the develop stage. The data were collected using validation sheets, quality assessment questionnaire sheets and teacher response questionnaire sheets. The results of research showed that the development of Chemo-Entrepreneurship-oriented teacher’s guidebook on chemical bonding material consists of introductions, learning competencies, learning scenarios, and learning assessments. The quality of the developed book obtained the score of 86,11% (Very Good Category) and well positive response on 92,5%.

Abstract

This research was classroom action research that implemented of bounded inquiry lab model assisted by macromedia flash to improve learning outcomes and scientific attitudes. This research method used the design model Kemmis and Mc Taggart which in class action research conducted with 2 cycles for one cycle of research there were 4 phases include planning, action, observation and reflection. The results of applying the bounded inquiry lab model assisted by macromedia flash to improve learning outcomes of the largest percentage cycle I, namely the medium category with a percentage score of 52% and a decrease in value of 4% from 25 In the second cycle, the average score was 32%, spread in three categories, namely medium, low, decreased and there was also no increased. students' scientific attitudes from cycle I to cycle II students were measured through observation of activities based on aspects of scientific attitudes and student response questionnaires. The average increased that occured from each aspect is 10%, with the average percentage of the overall indicator is 60%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problem based instruction learning model with ethnoscience science approach to students' generic science skills on stoichiometric material. This research is a quasi-experimental method with times series design. Determination of the sample using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out by measuring question instruments, observations, and open interviews. The pretest and posttest implementation in this study was conducted four times. There are five aspects of generic science skills measured in this study, namely aspects of concept building, mathematical modeling, symbolic language, direct observation, and indirect observation. The results of the study obtained N-Gain values for each different aspect. N-Gain conceptual aspects of 0.776 (height), mathematical modeling aspects of 0.625 (medium), symbolic language assumptions of 0.607 (moderate), direct observation aspects of 0.725 (high), and indirect observation aspects of 0.604 (medium). To test the hypothesis, non-parametric t-test is used because the data obtained is not normal. Based on the t test that has been done, it is obtained the data of sig 2 tailed value of 0,00 where 0,00 <0,05, meaning that there is a significant effect on the use of problem based instruction learning model with ethnoscience approach towards students' generic science skills in stoichiometric material. This model is also effective in improving students' genetic skills in stoichiometry material seen from the high number of effect sizes, namely on the aspect of building with effect size of 98%, mathematical modeling by 96%, symbolic language by 96%, direct observation by 98%, and indirect observation of 92%. Individual mastery obtained is 71.32 (complete), while the classical completeness obtained is equal to 55.70% (incomplete).

Abstract

An application of students’ character education in a learning process is a must for teachers. It aims to build good values especiallyreligious, nationalist, mutual cooperation, integrity, and independence.This research was conducted to determine the students’ character in Muhammadiah 1 Junior High School and the teachers’ ability to associate science with Al-Qur’an. The method used was descriptive qualitative method using observation instruments, interviews, and student character questionnaires.Based on the results obtained, the research showed that the teachers had carried out the learning process well and beginning with the preparation of learning devices.The teachers had time management in applying the Qur'anic science approach.The highest average students character scorewas 78 for religious valuesin the ninth grade, and the lowest score was 52 for independence value in the seventh grade.

Abstract

Good instruments are not only seen from validity and reliability but can also be seen from practical values. The purpose of this study is to examine content validity and practicality of critical thinking disposition tests in biology. This study involved 73 biology education students as samples taken from the 1st and 3rd study levels. The instruments used in the study were drafts of critical thinking disposition tests in biology and response questionnaires. This study uses the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) method. A draft critical thinking disposition test in biology was validated by six validators. Based on the findings indicate that the test of critical thinking disposition tests in biology has content validity and good practical value.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan argumentasi dan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi gerak rotasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif survey melibatkan 60 siswa SMA Negeri 1 Tarakan. Pada siswa diberikan 5 soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan 2 soal argumentasi ilmiah dan diberi waktu 90 menit untuk menyelesaikannya. Rata–rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa adalah 31,2 (41,6%) dengan penjabaran tiap indikator adalah sebagai berikut Useful Description 1,34 (26,8%), Spesific Application of Physics 2,3 (46%), dan Mathematical Procedures 2,6 (52%). Rata–rata argumentasi ilmiah adalah 45,5 dan kualitas argumentasi ilmiah siswa hanya berada pada level 1-3 saja.

Abstract

This paper discusses the designs in infusing Islamic values and sustainable development and how challenges must be faced in the training for pre-service Islamic elementary school teachers. The subjects of this study consisted of 77 primary school educational candidates who contracted "Simple Chemistry" lectures The instrument was The Chemical Essay Test Integrated Sustainable Development Aspects (CET-SD) containing Islamic discourse. Based on pedagogical planning, lesson plans are divided into four stages, consisting of (1) phase of contact; (2) phase of curiosity and planning; (3) phase of elaboration; and (4) phase of deepening and networking. The link between Islamic values and chemistry and the environment was well understood by pre-service teachers. Some challenges in teaching chemical content were found regarding with (1) difficulties with the relation between macro domain and submicro domain; (2) difficulties with the relation between symbolic domain and macro or submicro domain; (3) difficulties with models.
