Abstract

Mathmatics is one of the lesson which is performed on national final exam. It holds important rule to decide sudents graduation. The fact shown that many students have difficulty in this lesson. They think that mathematics difficult. It makes them have less interest in mathematics.The research method used is class action research. The population of this study is 22 students of VII grade SMPN 8 Bintan. Sampling technique in this study is purposive sampling. The independent variable is group working method in direct instruction model and the dependent variable is mathematics learning performance.The result of this research is passing grade of siclus II increasing to 85 from 72,29. It can be concluded that working method in direct instruction model can increase mathematics learning performance of VII grade SMPN 8 Bintan.

Abstract

this research is a descriptive research with qualitative approach as it is meant to describe question submission of Junior High School students seen from cognitive style, namely; fast-accurate style cognitive style and slow-inaccurate style. The data collection method used in this research are test and interview. The data credibility is then tested through triangulation of time. the result shows that the description of question submission submitted by subject of fast-accurate are; most of the questions submitted are mathematical questions except few of them are not, the questions submitted by the subject are varied, most of the questions submitted are from visual information, all questions submitted can be solved, the questions submitted by the fast-accurate subject are balance between medium and high difficulty, the solution of all questions submitted are correct. The submission of questions done by slow-inaccurate group are: most of the questions submitted by slow-inaccurate group are mathematical questions except one, the questions submitted are varied, the questions submitted from visual and verbal information are balance where 6 questions are from visual and the other 6 are from verbal, most of the questions can be solved except one, most of the questions are in medium level of difficulty, most of the questions can be solved correctly except question number 9 which can be solved as the information given are not enough to solve the problem.

Abstract

This research is meant to understand the thinking profile of students in solving the system linear problem seen from mathematical logic intelligence. This is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection technique used in this research are test and interview. The data validation method is done through triangulation method. The data analysis method is done through data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The subject used in this research is selected through mathematical logic intelligence test score of first semester students from Information Technique Department. Based on the test score of mathematical logic intelligence, the researcher selected three subjects which is then categorized into three categories namely, high, medium and low. The conclusion of this research are: 1) student with high mathematical logic intelligence in the stage of finding and writing all information, in incubation stage, student can solve problem through varied solution methods, in the insight stage, student can understand the problem well by coming to the same answer through varied methods, 2) student with medium mathematical logic intelligence solved the problem at the stage of finding information needed, in incubation stage by choosing different method from what is taught, at the insight stage, student can find the result through his own method, 3) student with low mathematical logic intelligence at the preparation stage can find all information needed, at the incubation stage, student tried varied methods, but until insight stage.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) whether the learning of mathematics realistic discovery methods aided interactive multimedia produce learning achievement better than conventional learning, (2) whether there is influence students response to mathematics achievement, (3) whether there is an interaction between learning mathematics with students response to students mathematics achievement. This study uses a quasi-experimental research methods. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of the second semester of the Holy Hadipolo village primary school year 2016/2017, while samples were selected by cluster random sampling is SD 3 Hadipolo as an experimental group with a total of 25 students and SD 2 Hadipolo as a control group by number 25 students. The results showed (1) there are differences in the effect of teaching methods to mathematics achievement, (2) there are differences in mathematics achievement among students with the response study of high, medium, and low., (3) there are differences in the achievement of each learning method consistent at each level of learning responses and differences in learning achievement of each level of learning consistent response to each method of learning.

Abstract

this research is meant to:1) see the difference influence of Cooperative Script Model with the help of mind mapping with Direct Instructional teaching model to students’ creativity skill; 2) to prove the affectivity of Cooperative Script model implementation with the help of Mind Mapping in in improving Student’s creativity in applying basic teaching skill in Micro Teaching simulation activity; 3) to prove the implementation of Direct Instruction model in improving students’ creativity in applying basic teaching skill in micro teaching simulation. This research uses experimental method with two groups pre-test post-test. The result shows that: (1) the implementation of cooperative script model with the help of mind mapping is proven to be effective in improving student’s creativity in applying basic teaching skills in simulation activity can be seen from the experiment group where 11 skills (indicator formulation skill, apperception skill, opening skill, questioning skill, using variation skill, class management skill, discussion guidance skill, individual teaching skill, material mastery skill, class mastery skill and media usage skill) are showing the average score of more than 80, (2) the implementation of direct instruction model can improve student’s creativity in applying basic teaching skills where 6 basic skills (indicator formulation skill, giving apperception skill, lesson opening skill, questioning skill, class management skill and individual teaching skill) are able to achieve average scores of more than 80, and (3) the misconception done by students can be categorized as basic mathematical misconception which is caused by apperception mistake and understanding.Keywords:

Abstract

Problem Posing approach is necessary for teacher training students. Problem Posing can train students to create questions/problems and their solutions. Make problem then solve it is part of student’s creative thinking ability. Differential equations problem is one of the materials that learned in mathematics education courses. Every teacher training student of mathematics has diverse skills. This diversity certainly brings various creative thinking skills as well. The purpose of this study is to determine the ability of student’s creative thinking in mathematical education courses, differential equation problem posing. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Sources of data in this study are the students of mathematics education consist of one student of each with high, medium, and low begining math ability. The data collection was conducted by using observation, testing, and interviews. Technique authenticity of data using a triangulation method. Data analysis technique done in stages, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and verification. The result of this study were (1) Students with high initial capability not have fluency and flexibility of thought, but it shows the novelty think that qualifies as a Creative Thinking Ability Level (CTAL) 2 is creative enough, (2) Students with prior knowledge currently have the fluency of thought, but do not have the flexibility and novelty think that qualifies as a Level capabilities creative thinking (CTAL) 1 is less creative, (3) Students with prior knowledge low yet has grace, eloquence, and the novelty of thought that goes into the criteria of creative thinking ability Level (CTAL) 0 is not creative.

Abstract

This develompent research is aim to produce e-learning media that basic of moodle at circle subject. The research product is a mathematic’s web which contain circle subject for VIII of Junior High School. The product has been tested on VIII-F’s students of SMP Negeri 1 Gedeg. From the test result, the product is valid.
