Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the increase in critical thinking skills, learning outcomes and student activity using strategies Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) on the material electrolyte-non electrolyte solution and oxidation reduction reaction. This research was a classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four phases: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 36 students. The data collection includes pieces of observation and tests. The results showed an increase in critical thinking skills, 73.84% with a critical category from first cycle to 93.29% categorized as very critical in the second cycle. Cognitive learning outcomes increase, 79.94 with a good category in the first cycle to 90.50 with the very well category in the second cycle. Affective learning outcomes increased from 10.29 in both categories in the first cycle to 12.12 with both categories at the second cycle. Psychomotor learning outcomes increased from 60.42 at the first cycle to 83.28 at the second cycle. Activities of students increased from 27.17 with quite active category in the first cycle to 33.5 with the active category in the second cycle. Based on these results it can be concluded that the use of the POE strategy can improve critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in the material electrolyte-non electrolyte solution and oxidation reduction reaction.Keywords: POE strategy, critical thinking skills, learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract. Research on improving students' science process skills through an approach Whole Brain Teaching (WBT) on the material motion system in humans through the experimental method. WBT approach application through the experimental method is expected to have a positive impact on the construction of students 'knowledge and science process skills of students in the learning process, especially in the materials science of human motion system so as to improve students' understanding of the material. This study aims to determine the improvement of students' science process skills using WBT approach through experimental methods in material of human motion system. The method used was classroom action research which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Paringin in class VIII B comprised 18 students in the first semester of the school year 2013/2014. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of three meetings. Data collected by the observation sheet science process skills and achievement test. Qualitative data analysis techniques based on descriptive analysis of the increase from cycle to cycle two. The study concluded that: (1) The student process skills of students increased from lower to higher category. (2) the results of student learning increased from 44.44% to 88.89%. Thus the application of WBT approach can improve students' science process skills.Keywords: Whole Brain Teaching, human motion system, Experiment.

Abstract

Proses belajar mengajar merupakan kegiatan yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh pendidik untuk mengkonstruksi pengetahuan peserta didiknya. Pemahaman konsep memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar dan merupakan dasar dalam mencapai hasil belajar. Pemahaman konsep yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa dapat digunakan untuk menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan yang ada kaitannya dengan konsep yang dimiliki. Dalam hal pemahaman konsep, mahasiswa tidak hanya sebatas mengenal, tetapi harus dapat menghubungkan satu konsep dengan konsep lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman konsep mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi pada matakuliah fisiologi tumbuhan. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa rata-rata nilai pemahaman konsep mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi pada matakuliah fisiologi tumbuhan berada pada kategori cukup. Indikator pemahaman konsep dengan persentase tertinggi yaitu indikator kemampuan memberi contoh dari konsep yang telah dipelajari dengan persentase 92,59%, sedangkan indikator dengan persentase terendah yaitu indikator kemampuan mengaitkan berbagai konsep yang telah dipelajari dengan persentase 0% untuk salah satu kelas sampel. Faktor penyebab rendahnya pemahaman konsep mahasiswa yaitu sulit memahami soal, kemampuan akademik yang berbeda, kompleksitas materi fisiologi tumbuhan, retensi yang lemah, serta proses pembelajaran yang kurang mendukung

Abstract

Abstract. Has made the development of multimedia-based interactive learning media using macromedia director in the subject matter of functional groups of carbon compounds. This development aims to produce media-based interactive multimedia learning using macromedia director in material functional group of carbon compounds for class XI vocational schools are fit for use in learning. The model used in this development is the 4-D models. A total of 10 students from the class XIA TKJ SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Banjarmasin academic year 2012/2013 research sample in a small test group and 36 MM XI students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Banjarmasin academic year 2012/2013 research sample in a limited field test. Data collection techniques using achievement test techniques, observation and questionnaires. Based on tests of learning media including experts on the criteria very well, meaning worthy and valid instructional media. Student learning outcomes in a small group of test percentages obtained 72.5% as very good and in limited field tests obtained percentage 79% as very good, meaning that effective learning media. Test results of the students' responses to a small group and limited field tests included in the category very well, all teachers and students in small groups and field tests are included in the category of finite excellent / very active, practical learning media means. This indicates that the developed learning media fit for use in chemistry learning media.Keywords: instructional media, interactive multimedia, functional group of carbon compounds, macromedia director

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi asam basa menggunakan LKS berbasis learning cycle 7E. Penelitian ini ialah penelitian kuasi eksperimen menggunakan One group Pretest-Postest Only. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 57 orang siswa di salah satu SMA di Kota Palangka Raya. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu memberikan tes kepada siswa sebelum pembelajaran (pre-test) dan setelah pembelajaran (post-test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi LKS berbasis learning cycle 7E dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa dan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada materi asam basa dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,61. Konsep yang paling dikuasai siswa adalah tentang konsep hubungan tetapan kesetimbangan asam dan basa (Ka/Kb) terhadap kekuatan asam basa dengan rata-rata N-Gain 0,86 dan konsep yang kurang dikuasai adalah konsep pH dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dengan rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0,49. Indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis yang paling dikuasai adalah interpretasi sebesar dengan N-Gain 0,80 dengan kriteria tinggi, sedangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis yang kurang dikuasai adalah analisis dengan N-Gain sebesar 0,65 dengan kriteria sedang. Siswa memberikan tanggapan yang baik terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan LKS berbasis learning cycle 7E, karena LKS mengaitkan kejadian yang ada dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

his study aims to determine the influence of Biological Science Inquiry Model (BSIM) and student’s learning styles to learning outcome of acid-base subject matter. Research population are Class XI IPA of SMA PGRI 6 Banjarmasin. This quasi experiment research applied factorial design. Learning outcomes datas obtained through pre-test and post-test, meanwhile, psychomotoric as well as datas of learning styles and students response to the learning process collected by using questionnaires. Then, to evaluate effect of BSIM and learning style to learning outcome, they were analyzed using ANAVA. This study showed that (1) Implementation of BSIM learning models affects to student’s learning outcome (2) student’s learning styles had no effect to the student learning outcomes in acid-base subject matter where BSIM was applied and (3) the students give positive responses to the acid-base learning process which applied BSIM.Key words: Biological science inquiry models, learning styles, acid-base

Abstract

Bahan ajar yang disediakan Kemdikbud pada kurikulum 2013 berupa buku guru dan buku siswa. Khusus buku siswa menjabarkan usaha minimal siswa yang harus dilakukan untuk mencapai kompetensi yang diharapkan seperti melatihkan keterampilan proses sains. Peneliti melakukan telaah materi kurikulum didapatkan bahwa pada materi klasifikasi zat/benda cocok untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains. Peneliti melakukan penelitian pendahuluan kepada guru IPA SMPN 24 Banjarmasin pada tahun sebelumnya didapatkan bahwa lemahnya keterampilan proses sains siswa. Sehingga muncul gagasan dari peneliti untuk melakukan inovasi bahan ajar berbantuan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) dalam upaya meningkatkan aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa dan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi pokok klasifikasi zat/benda.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) aktivitas guru dan siswa kelas 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin saat pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS (2) peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin dengan pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan  LKS dan (3) persepsi siswa kelas 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS materi pokok klasifikasi zat/benda.     Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian PTK yakni mendeskripsikan upaya meningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa dengan menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran materi pokok  klasifikasi zat/. Subyek penelitian adalah kelas 7 E  sebanyak 36 orang yang terdiri atas 20 orang siswa laki-laki dan 16 orang siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018 tepatnya bulan Agustus sampai dengan Oktober 2018.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus, siklus I dilaksanakan 3 kali pertemuan (2 x 40’) dan siklus II dilaksanakan 3 kali pertemuan (2 x 40’).Selama perlakuan siswa diamati oleh 2 orang observer dilengkapi dengan lembar observasi. Setelah perlakuan dilakukan test untuk mengetahui keterampilan proses sains siswa dan dilanjutkan dengan pembagian angket siswa untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran;(1)Aktivitas guru dan siswa kelas 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin dengan pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran materi klasifikasi zat /benda terjadi peningkatan dari siklus 1 (59,72%) kategori cukup ke siklus II (93,33%) ke kategori baik. (2) Peningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin dengan pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran materi klasifikasi zat /benda  dari siklus 1 (57,23 %)  kategori cukup terampil ke siklus II (81,11%) kategori terampil.(3) Persepsi siswa kelas 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin dengan pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran materi klasifikasi zat /benda memiliki predikat baik (88,88%).

Abstract

Has done research aims to improve learning outcomes and metacognitive skills of students as well as the response of students towards cooperative learning strategies TPS + M. This study uses a research design class action, with 2 cycles of 3 times the meeting. The research subjects were students in grade XI IPA 2-SMAN 4 Banjarmasin totaling 31 people. The data collected through the test results of study, observation, questionnaires, interviews and activity sheets. Data were analyzed by percentage and described qualitatively. The research instrument used in the form of test results to learn an instrument, questionnaire metacognitive skills, the student observation sheet questionnaire responses metacognitive skills, metacognitive activity sheet students, interview guidance sheets and teacher observation sheet activities. Results showed that learning the concept of salt hydrolysis using cooperative strategies TPS + M can improve student learning outcomes by 17.5% from 73.60% in cycle I to 91.1% in cycle II. Metacognitive skills of students through observational data increased by 15.55% with very good category and 43.34% in both categories, while through the questionnaire, students' metacognitive skills in the category increased 22.58% and 35.48% very well in either category. Graders XI IPA 2-SMAN 4 Banjarmasin responded positively to the learning concept of salt hydrolysis using cooperative learning strategies TPS+M.  Keywords: Cooperative strategy TPS + M, metacognitive skills, salt hydrolysis.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to development learning model Project Based Learning (PBL) based on local wisdom as well as testing the feasibility of the product and the level of effectiveness of learning devices developed. This research is a research development which adopt model of Dick & Carey which include preliminary stage, analysis, design, development, and testing. The research subjects are students of class A and B third year, Chemistry Education of STKIP Bima. Data collection are conducted through tests and non-tests that include interviews, observations, questionnaires, instrument validation and knowledge test questions. The result of this research can be concluded that learning model PBL based on local wisdom can be applied to student of third year that is prospective educator in developing learning device, learning model PBL based on local wisdom suitable for use in learning. Based on the validator's assessment, the learning model has fulfilled the content validity with Vaiken ≥ 7,6, and the assessment of the lecturer and the student with the category "Good". Learning using the model PBL based on local wisdom fffective to improve learning outcomes knowledge and attitudes of students. The average value of the students' experimental class is higher than the control class.Keywords: Development of learning model, project based learning, local wisdom

Abstract

Abstract. Research on the use of inquiry learning model guidance (Guided Inquiry) on chemical equilibrium which aims to determine the activity of teachers, the activity of students, improving the scientific attitude of students, an increased understanding of the concept of students, and the students' responses. The study design was Class Action Research (PTK) with two cycles consist of planning, action, observation, analysis and reflection. The subjects were a class XI student of MIPA 2 SMAN 6 Banjarmasin total of 36 people. The research instrument is a test and non-test. The results showed an increase from the first cycle to the second cycle which includes the activity of teachers from both categories to be very good, the student activity category of active to very active, scientific attitude of students category enough to be very good, understanding the concept increased from 72.01% to 88.80%, a positive student response to the use of guided inquiry learning model (Guided Inquiry).Keywords: scientific attitude, understanding concepts guided inquiry
